Abstract

This study aims to develop a Pancasila-based learning module integrated with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for the Elementary Linear Algebra course that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The analysis stage included needs analysis, curriculum analysis, student characteristics, learning materials, and the integration of Pancasila Student Profile values and HOTS indicators. The module was designed by organizing learning structures, HOTS-oriented activities, and Pancasila values, then validated by four experts in subject matter, instructional design, educational evaluation, and character education. The revised product was implemented with 20 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program enrolled in Elementary Linear Algebra. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, HOTS tests, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively using validity, practicality, effectiveness, and normalized gain analyses. The results show that the module obtained an average validity score of 3.82, categorized as highly valid. Student responses reached 93%, indicating that the module was highly practical. The module also improved students' average HOTS score from 60.40 in the pretest to 86.70 in the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.66. Classical learning mastery reached 90%, while the implementation of Pancasila values obtained an average score of 92.17%. These findings indicate that the module is feasible as an innovative teaching material supporting Outcome-Based Education and character strengthening in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of educational management on student learning outcomes at State Elementary School 164526 Tebing Tinggi. Educational management is understood through the functions of planning, organizing, actuating, controlling, and evaluating, while student learning outcomes were obtained from documentation of formative assessment, summative assessment, and report-card scores. The study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto method and a correlational design. The sample consisted of elementary school teachers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, as well as documentation of student learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and simple linear regression. The findings show that educational management has a positive effect on student learning outcomes. Better implementation of management functions is associated with more directed instructional management, more consistent academic supervision, and the use of evaluation as a basis for improvement. These findings indicate that strengthening school management can serve as a practical strategy for improving instructional quality and student learning outcomes in elementary schools. Therefore, this study contributes to the field of elementary educational management by explaining the relationship between school management quality and student learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the demonstration method on elementary school students' zig-zag football dribbling skills at UPT SD Negeri 060972 in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employed a quantitative experimental approach using a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample consisted of all 21 first-grade students of UPT SD Negeri 060972 selected through total sampling. The research instrument was a zig-zag football dribbling skill test administered before and after six meetings of instruction using the demonstration method. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test with IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 at a significance level of 0.05. The findings show that the mean dribbling completion time decreased from 18.22 seconds in the pretest to 15.44 seconds in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 2.78 seconds. The pretest and posttest data were normally distributed, with significance values of 0.561 and 0.754, and homogeneous with a significance value of 0.417. The paired sample t-test showed t = 18.567 with a significance value of 0.000. Therefore, the demonstration method has a significant effect on improving elementary students' zig-zag football dribbling skills and can be used as an effective alternative strategy in physical education learning.

Abstract

Critical reading ability is a high-level literacy competence that is essential for senior high school students to distinguish facts, opinions, and underlying biases in editorial texts. This study aims to improve the critical reading skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Nurcahaya in editorial text learning through the Cooperative Script model based on process-differentiated instruction. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 36 eleventh-grade students at SMA Nurcahaya. Data were collected using critical reading performance tests covering fact-opinion analysis, inference making, bias evaluation, and reconstruction of authorial perspectives, as well as observation sheets for student and teacher activities. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed gradual improvements in both learning process quality and student achievement. In the pre-cycle phase, the class average score was 64.12 with classical completeness of 33.33%. After Cycle I, the mean score increased to 73.45 with classical completeness of 61.11%. In Cycle II, through refined grouping based on readiness and varied scaffolding, the mean score rose to 82.78 with classical completeness of 88.89%. These findings indicate that integrating Cooperative Script and process differentiation effectively improves students critical reading ability, reduces reading fatigue, and accommodates heterogeneous learning modalities and paces.

Abstract

Speaking skill is an essential productive competence for senior high school students, particularly in debate text learning. This study aims to improve the speaking skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Nurcahaya through a Student-Centered Learning approach integrated with the Debate-Café technique. This study employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 36 eleventh-grade students at SMA Nurcahaya. Data were collected through learning activity observation sheets, field notes, and speaking performance tests covering fluency, articulation and intonation, argument reasoning, and communication ethics. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed improvements in both learning process quality and learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle phase, the class average score was 63.5 with classical completeness of 33.33%. After Cycle I, the mean score increased to 72.1 with classical completeness of 61.11%. In Cycle II, after strengthening argument scaffolding and debate ethics, the mean score rose to 82.4 with classical completeness of 88.89%, exceeding the mastery criterion of 75. These findings indicate that the Student-Centered Debate-Café technique effectively improves students speaking skills, strengthens argumentative confidence, and creates a more interactive, respectful, and student-centered debate classroom.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence in language pedagogy provides a new opportunity to strengthen argumentative writing instruction. This study examines the effectiveness of a Genre-Based Approach (GBA) supported by Generative AI (GenAI) as a partner-drafting tool to improve the argumentative writing skills of twelfth-grade students at SMA Budi Murni 1 Medan. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The sample was selected through cluster random sampling and consisted of class XII-1 with 34 students as the experimental group and class XII-2 with 34 students as the control group. Data were collected through argumentative writing pretests and posttests assessed using an analytical rubric covering content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test and N-Gain. The findings showed a significant difference in writing performance between the experimental and control groups after treatment (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The experimental group achieved a posttest mean score of 84.26, while the control group achieved 74.41. The experimental group obtained an N-Gain of 0.58 or 58.41%, higher than the control group at 0.33 or 32.97%. These findings indicate that GenAI as a partner-drafting tool in the Joint Construction of Text phase effectively supports idea incubation, enriches diction, and organizes argumentative structure without removing students authorship autonomy.

Abstract

The digital communication era has fundamentally transformed patterns of relationship, authority, and the space of faith formation within the Catholic family, demanding a renewed affirmation of the family's role as Ecclesia Domestica (the Domestic Church) in building children's character. This study aims to analyze how families fulfil their function as the domestic church in shaping children's character amid the currents of digital communication, and to formulate relevant pastoral strategies to strengthen that function. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through library research on six recent scholarly articles concerning the family, faith education, and the digital era, analyzed thematically to identify patterns, relationships, and conceptual novelty. The findings show that the family carries out three principal roles as the domestic church: educator/teacher of faith, sanctifying priest through family prayer and liturgy, and guiding shepherd who instils moral values and responsibility. The formation of children's character in the digital era is strongly influenced by parental example, the intensity of open and empathetic communication, parents' spiritual-digital literacy, and the consistency of shared prayer and Scripture reading enriched by the wise use of digital media. The study further finds that challenges such as parental busyness, low digital literacy, and limited spiritual accompaniment can be addressed through a collaborative pastoral model involving families, the local parish/church, and digital communities. This study recommends strengthening spiritual digital-literacy programmes for parents and digital-based family catechetical modules as concrete steps to reaffirm the family as the primary space for shaping children's character.
