The aim of the Conference on Design Manufacture Engineering and Its Application (CDMA) is to provide a scientific platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to share and disseminate original research, innovative ideas, and practical developments in the fields of design engineering, manufacturing technology, and their multidisciplinary applications. CDMA welcomes the submission of theoretical and empirical papers that aim to advance knowledge, challenge conventional practices, and offer new insights into areas such as product design, manufacturing systems, industrial automation, materials engineering, and related domains. Submissions may employ various methodological approaches, including experimental research, modeling and simulation, qualitative studies, and data-driven analysis.

Abstract

Many factors determine the product quality, such as surface roughness and cutting width, especially in plate cutting industry. Getting the minimum roughness and the suitable cutting width becomes much easier if the machine operators know the right parameter while cutting. In this study, plasma cutting is used. Some parameter in this study are considered such as cutting speed, cutting height, arc voltage and air flow rates on cutting aluminium 5083 with 10 mm thickness. The analysis is conducted using Taguchi Grey Relational Analysis Method to surface roughness and cutting width. The result from this study is getting the optimal parameter combination consists of cutting speed with 1470 mm/min, cut height with 6 mm, arc voltage with 163 volt and air flow rates with 40 lpm. Moreover, the percentage contribution for cutting height is 6,780%, arc voltage is 20,141% and air flow is 56,779%. Meanwhile cutting speed didn’t signi ically a ect sur ace roughness and cutting width.

Abstract

Manufacturing companies in Indonesia generally implement project management. Thepurpose of implementing project management is to control the project being undertaken by thecompany. In addition, the purpose of implementing project management at the company is tominimize the delay in the process of project work.To be able to determine the optimal time and cost efficient on a project, required a method. TheCritical Path Method (CPM) method is one of the methods that can be used to optimize the timeneeded to complete the project in an efficient cost.The result of CPM method implementation on the project of making and installing 1 unit of grind millIV, in order to get optimal time with efficient cost is done by adding the amount of labor and overtimehours. With the addition of labor and overtime, the direct costs incurred increase. The direct costsincurred for additional employment amounted to Rp 1,755,418,984.00, while the direct costs incurredfor additional hours overtime amounted to Rp 2,614,578,401.00. From the calculation of such directcosts, it can be seen that it will be more efficient with the addition of the number of workers. After thatcalculation of slope cost, and got optimal time for project work is 219 days with total cost Rp5,860,789,447,32. Result of correlation and regression analysis, got value of influence of labor costto total cost is equal to 94,4% while machine cost effect to total cost is equal to 97,8%.

Abstract

PT. Apie Indo Karunia is one of the companies engaged in the foundry located in Sidoarjo. The company itself is a company that works by order / orderan from the consumer (Make to Order). Some of the products produced are gears, industrial machinery parts, and other steel construction. Products that have serrations are used as research material because of the high level of product order quantity. In this case the problem is the existence of flow back and forth process, so that the emergence of overtrasnsportation that can increase the cost of material handling and also affect the waste of time just for the process of removal. The cause of this alternating flow is because the layout of the machines is irregular (not in accordance with the process of making the gear and does not consider the type of production process of the company in the type of jobshop), where the engine layout should be grouped according to function. In addition, from the irregular arrangement of machines causes a pile of material / product (no special space for products that are queued up or processed). To handle the problem, used Methodatic System Layout Planning (SLP) developed by Richard Muther. The first step is to input data, then make Flow Process Chart, distance, time and speed of material transportation, make Activity Relationship Chart, and Activity Relationship Diagram. Result of research of layout design result 3 layout alternative then chosen one layout proposal selected with nlai cost and distance of best move with total distance material handling 5117,17 m / month and material handling cost every month equal to Rp 1.479.724,- So it can increase the efficiency of material handling cost (OMH) by 54%.

Abstract

One of the three-wheeled vehicles that is currently being developed is a three-wheeled car.In addition to engine selection, in the process of developing a minimalist three-wheeled car will notbe separated from the planning of the exhaust system. In the planning of exhaust system, it isnecessary to calculate the dimensions of the exhaust system pipeline to get the dimensions thatcorrespond to the cylinder capacity of the engine that applied to the minimalist three wheel car. Theapplication of design concept helps design the exhaust system to be able its needed. The designconcept is carried out by identifying plans for laying the driver's seat, ground clearance, and fuellines. The design of the exhaust system is carried out by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) toanalysis the function of the exhaust system by knowing the back pressure that is suitable for theminimalist three wheeled car. Analysis of design concepts can be used as a reference in determiningthe dimensions of the pipe exhaust system which in turn can be a product of the exhaust system for aminimalist three-wheel car.

Abstract

– The company in Lamongan, East Java is a company focusing on repair and ship building. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that CNC Flame Plasma Cutting is has a high breakdown rate over a period of time. Therefore, this research to identify critical components, determine the appropriate types of treatment and determine the interval of maintenance critical components. In this research, qualitative analysis involves RCM II Decision Worksheet, FBD, FMEA and RPN.Quantitative analysis to determine maintenance interval. The results showed that 19 failure mode and 7 critical components UPS, operating panel, THC (torch height control) plasma, Cutting Nozzle Flame, Nozzle Torch Plasma 1, X axis motor servo, and Y Axis motor servo. For this type of maintenance on Restoration is treated on cutting nozle flame and Y axis motor servo. Discard task on, UPS, THC Plasma, nozzle torch plasma, X axis servo motor. The maintenance Interval 1199,67 hours for UPS components, 1269,85 hours for operating panel, 1646,13 hours for Cutting Nozzle Flame, 1277,51 hours for THC Plasma, 1725,98 hours for Nozzle Torch Plasma, 1125,28 hours for X axis servo motor, and 1106,91 hours for Y Axis servo motor.

Abstract

Water is an important element for the life of living things on earth. However, the high levelof human need for clean water is not comparable to the level of availability. The decrease of cleanwater sources in Indonesia due to pollution by pentogen bacteria, such as E. coli. These bacteriacome from sanitation systems in Indonesia. This research will design a toilet with the basic principleof DU - 3E. Toilet ergonomics, ecological, easy maintenance, difable availability, and user centeredfor the people of Indonesia. Toilet design development uses the Ulrich method to get the best design.A list of concept needs was obtained through researchers observations of disability needs whenengaged in toilet activities. In addition, an ergonomic approach is carried out through theanthropometric approach of the Indonesian people. The toilet designed by the basic principle of "notmixing" between feces and urine. There is a foot support on the toilet to orm a 35 angle betweenpelvic flexion and the user's rectal canal..

Abstract

Perkembangan manufaktur pada industri di indonesia sangatlah cepat dengan didukungdengan berkembangnya dari teknologi dibidang manufaktur. Berkembangnya industri manufakturmenjadi peningkatan daya tarik konsumen atau produsen. Salah satu perelatan yang menjadi dayatarik yaitu penggunaan alat bantu (jig and fixture). Jig and fixture merupakan salah satu peralatanpemegang benda atau penopang benda satu ke benda lainnya untuk melakukan penggandaankomponen secara presisi dan akurat. Tugas akhir ini melakukan penelitian dengan cara melakukanrancang bangun jig and fixture survival knife untuk proses tapper grinding pada mesin surfacegrinding. Tahapan dalam melakukan rancang bangun jig and fixture adalah memahami bentuk,dimensi, serta mengetahui karakteristik mesin yang akan digunakan untu produksinya. Dengandemikian maka dapat menghitung gaya yang terjadi pada jig and fixture.Berdasalkan hasil darirancangan jig and fixturesurvival knife untuk proses tapper grinding dihasilkan setiap sisinya hanyamampu untuk melakukan pencekaman 1 sisi saja. Dimensi dari jig and fixture survial knife akandibagi menjadi dua. Yang pertama untuk tapper gerinda bagian atas yaitu panjang 350mm danlebarnya 120mm. untuk bagian kedua yaitu tapper gerinda bagian bawah panjang 350mm dan lebar150mm. Dari percobaan yang dilakukan dihasilkan kepresisian dan keakurasian dari tapper gerindadalam sekali setting sesuai dimensi yang diinginkan.

Abstract

In every era development from time after time also followed with requirement developmentof transportation in society. Generally there are 2 kinds of land transportations that human mostlyhave, they are 2 wheel and 4 wheel transportations. While for complete the defeciency from that 2kinds of transpotation, then three wheel car concept created.Three wheel car have minimalist conceptthats mean comfortable and simple. With using tilting trike system which it make sure the easy accesfor any situation on the road which its need suitable engine spesification to support that concept.Because of that, this research is made to plan design engine that suitable with that concept by usingtorque and power manual calculation method, which it later tested by dynotest to look for the result ofengine performances on three wheel car.From torque and power calculation, its show minimumtorque requirements at 6500 rpm is 13,63 Nm and power requirements at 8500 rpm is 12,15 Hp. Thenthe result obtained Yamaha Scorpio Z 2007 engine that aplied on three wheel car which is tested byDynotest and show the result maximum torque at 5318 rpm is 22,90 Nm and maximum power at 8500rpm is 20,7 Hp.

Abstract

In the modern era, automotive industry is developing rapidly, from motorcycle until car. There is new innovation in automotive industry, it is a minimalist three wheels car. A car has many parts that very complex. One of them that also very important is brake system because it is deal with safety. So it takes the analyze and design of the brake system that according to minimalist three wheels car. In this final project, the author will design a brake system that suitable to minimalist three wheel car. And then have calculating the force that is required by the driver to stop a car. The author designed the brake system using AutoCAD software. Based on data analysis that has been done, the brake system that suitable to minimalist three wheel car are disc brake with hydraulic system for front wheel and drum brake with mechanic system for rear wheel. Based on the design of brake system that have made, the force that the driver needed to stop a car is 559,87 N. Brake’s specification that used to minimalist three wheels car are disc brake with diameter about 220 mm, master silinder’s diameter is 12,7 mm, piston caliper’s diameter is 34 mm and tromol brake’s diameter is 130 mm.

Abstract

In this modern era the plastic waste is a waste that is very difficult to recycle because thedecompotion of waste plastic is very difficult, and also the decompotion of waste plastic need a longtime. There are many types of plastic that we use everyday such as plastic bag for food or for bring acup of tea and etc with cheaper price and you can get the pastic bag in every shop or minimarket inIndonesia makes the plastic waste is the most waste produced from house hold and the others.Therefore we need some ways or method to reduce the plastic waste by making a crusher plasticmachine. There are many materials used to make crusher plastic machine. Start from frame ofmachine and stand frame of diesel motor are use U profile with material ASTM A36. ST42 are usedfor tub crusher, pulley, 2 fly wheel, stand of knife, fly wheel cover, top hopper, bottom hopper. ASTMA36 material is used for key of spindle. HSS material is used for knife crusher plastic machine. 3 Vbeltwith rubber canvas material is used for move spindle crusher plastic machine. The method usedto make this machine is reverse engineering which is compare to another crusher plastic machinethat has been sold in. The advantages from this machine is cheaper than another cursher plasticmachine in market, have low power, can slice or crush plastic until 50 kg/h, and dimension of plasticthat has been sliced is 16 mm or 1,6 cm wich is smaller and smoother than another crusher plasticmachine in market. Type of the plastic that can be sliced by using this machine is polypropylenebecause polypropylene has more benefit in economic. The price of polypropylene which sliced ismore expensive than the other type of plastic and the knife of this machine will blunt faster if slicingor crushing another type of plastic
