Abstract

This research examines the meaning of worship in five religions (Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism) in Indonesia referring to phenomenological research. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. This study's informants used as research subjects were religious figures and followers of Islam, Catholic Christians, Protestant Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and Confucians. This research found several ideas for worship during the COVID-19 pandemic. First, those who think there is no difference in the implementation of worship before and during the pandemic. Second, those who worship at home during the pandemic follow government regulations. Based on the opinions of informants who have explained many things regarding the implementation of worship during the pandemic, it can be concluded that several meanings of worship are worshiping with a sincere heart, purity of orientation, presenting God in the heart, praising God, listening to God's word, and being transcendental. Twenty-three informants may continue to pray at places of worship during the pandemic, and fifteen informants pray at home, according to policies issued by the government.

The study results show that TikTok is one of the digital media in Indonesia that is proliferating. TikTok serves as a new medium for global communication and information exchange, a platform for interaction, sharing, and socializing, a primary destination for users, a social commerce venue, and a portfolio showcase. Indonesian creative workers use TikTok as a promotional and trading medium. However, face-to-face communication through TikTok can reduce the trust of TikTok users when making transactions, conversations, communications, self-actualization and so on. It can also lead to misunderstandings when carrying out long-distance activities without being based on more detailed and specific explanations.

Abstract

The increasing pace of life, social pressures and the aging population are causing urinary incontinence and psychosocial problems in the elderly to increase. Although not a fatal condition, urinary incontinence can impair mental health and reduce quality of life, as well as increase the risk of depression and anxiety. The study focused on knowing the description of urinary incontinence and psychosocial problems in the elderly in the working area of Puskesmas Lanrisang Pinrang Regency. This cross-sectional descriptive study involved 90 elderly respondents from the Lanrisang Health Centre, selected using purposive sampling based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using validated questionnaires: the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 (DASS 21). QUID was selected for its specificity in categorizing different types of urinary incontinence, making it a reliable tool for this population. Similarly, DASS 21 is well-regarded for its ability to measure stress, anxiety, and depression levels comprehensively, which are critical psychosocial factors examined in this study. These tools were chosen for their reliability in measuring urinary incontinence and psychosocial problems, with analysis performed using univariate methods. The results showed that the majority of respondents (40.0%) experienced mixed urinary incontinence. The prevalence of urinary incontinence in the elderly with moderate levels of stress, anxiety, and depression was higher compared to mild and severe levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Abstract

Public figures employ various strategies to elevate their popularity and cultivate a specific public image. A key tactic is effective impression management. Through strategic impression management, individuals can optimize the results of their personal branding endeavors. Marco Randy, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry as an influencer, host, and radio personality, exemplifies this concept. He has successfully crafted a distinctive personal brand that sets him apart from his peers. This qualitative study, grounded in theories of impression management and personal branding, is based on in-depth interviews and observations. The research findings reveal a dichotomy in Marco Randy's personality. While he presents a public persona that is engaging and extroverted, his private self often exhibits introverted tendencies. This duality becomes apparent when he interacts with large crowds, as he may experience energy depletion and seek solitude afterward. Despite this, he is widely perceived as a friendly and approachable public figure, though he is selective about his interactions with unfamiliar individuals.

The data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25, which included examining variance (ANOVA) and multiple linear regression. The findings indicated that electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) had a more significant influence on a physical site's perceived quality than conventional WOM. Significantly, the influence of commercial electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) exceeded that of personal WOM. Furthermore, the impact of negative word-of-mouth (WOM) metrics was markedly more substantial than that of good WOM, and negative electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) had a broader influence than negative WOM.

Abstract

It is recognized that the press in Indonesia has not entirely implemented a professional and responsible press quality in reporting. This should be watched out for, considering that not all Indonesians have adequate education and intelligence levels. In this study, using the document analysis method and in-depth interviews, it was found that the press was allowed to run without control and responsibility, so this could potentially become a medium of agitation that could affect the psychology of the uneducated community, which, in fact, is greater in number than the educated community. Therefore, this study suggests that press freedom needs to be limited, at least through legal means and legislation. So that the news carried out by the press can become responsible and accountable press reporting. The first use of press freedom was in England 316 years ago. This use is a development of the concept of freedom of speech, which has its roots in Greece since the glorious days of the Romans and Greeks. Indonesia today is said to be practicing responsible press freedom. In terms of philosophy, the Indonesian press is not a responsible press freedom because the press is very free beyond freedom itself. To achieve responsible freedom of the press, several elements or other powers in society need to be given wider independence. The trick is to strengthen the four elements of the branch of power, namely the legislature (the people), the executive, the judiciary, and the press. On the other hand, the executive power, the legislative power that is the most powerful in the country today, needs to be balanced according to its function and should be limited or reduced, in line with the limited government principle, so that the system of mutual control, balance and does not bring down each other contained in the Constitution. And Pancasila becomes more meaningful. Empowering the elements of power based on the Pancasila ideology above will make Indonesia more open, the press more independent, and the freedom to have a wider voice. Its implementation involves and refers to the need for a press law by responding to the needs of the government, society, and the press itself; realize a social contract regarding the freedom of the press which is responsible between the government, the press, and the public; create a code of ethics for the press. Ideally, the idea of responsible press freedom should be implemented in Indonesia today. This idea will not weaken the government; on the contrary, it will strengthen democracy in this country.
