Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of physics learning for biology students at the University of Mataram, focusing on understanding, application of concepts, and the relevance of materials to biological studies. The research employed a quantitative approach using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 40 Biology program students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify trends in students' perceptions of the effectiveness and satisfaction with physics learning. The results revealed that most students considered physics learning moderately effective, particularly through practical sessions, although the prevalence of neutral responses indicated a need to improve material relevance and teaching methods. Practical sessions significantly supported concept comprehension, yet challenges remained in connecting physics materials to practical applications in biology. Student satisfaction with teaching methods was relatively positive, but improvements in material delivery and laboratory facilities were also highlighted as critical areas. This study recommends strengthening the integration of physics with biological contexts, optimizing practical sessions, and developing teaching methods utilizing interactive technology and case studies to enhance student engagement.

Abstract

Education plays a fundamental role in improving the quality of life. It enables individuals to develop themselves intellectually, socially, and morally. In the context of Islamic boarding schools, education not only focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills, but also emphasizes the cultivation of values, ethics, and religious commitment. The goal is to shape Muslim individuals who are faithful, pious, possess good character, contribute positively to society, and uphold the values of Islam. One key factor that influences students’ learning behavior is perceived social support. This study aims to examine the role of perceived social support in fostering self-regulated learning among high school students in Islamic boarding schools. This research adopts a quantitative approach using correlational methods to assess the relationship between variables. Data were collected through the distribution of a transadapted perceived social support scale among high school students enrolled in Islamic boarding schools. The results revealed a statistically significant relationship, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.430, and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.185. This indicates that perceived social support contributes 18.5% to students’ self-regulated learning. Further analysis of sub-scales showed the following contributions: teachers (11.1%), friends (9.5%), people at school (9.2%), classmates (8.9%), and parents (6.1%). In conclusion, perceived social support plays a significant role in enhancing students’ self-regulated learning in Islamic boarding schools. These findings underscore the importance of fostering supportive environments, especially from educators and peers, to improve students' independent learning capabilities.

Abstract

Nanotechnology is one of the rapidly developing fields of science, promising innovation and application of technology on a nanoscale. Along with technological advances, the integration of Nanotechnology in various aspects of life is becoming increasingly important, including in education. For example, the use of nanotechnology-based ink can improve the quality of printing in textbooks and learning materials, making text easier to read and images clearer. This study aims to investigate the influence of learning styles on the understanding of Nanotechnology concepts among high school students. The focus of this study is on the comparison between learning methods adapted to learning styles and conventional methods. The main questions of this study are whether learning methods adapted to students'' learning styles have a significant influence on the understanding of Nanotechnology concepts compared to conventional methods, and how the understanding of Nanotechnology concepts compares between the two groups. The table above shows the distribution of students'' learning styles in the experimental class based on three categories: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Of the total 16 students, 37.50% or 6 students have a visual learning style, which means they find it easier to understand information through sight such as pictures, diagrams, or reading. 31.25% or 5 students have an auditory learning styleFrom the results and discussions above, it can be concluded that the Ho hypothesis is rejected and the Ha hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

Mathematics has an important role in solving various problems in everyday life, including in the fields of commerce, measurement, and astronomy. One of the goals of learning mathematics is to train logical thinking and problem solving skills. However, students often experience difficulties with comparing materials, such US determine unit values, classifying types of comparisons, and compare fractions. This difficulty requires contextual and interesting learning strategies, such US ethnomathematics-based learning. Ethnomathematics integrates local culture into mathematics learning to make it more relevant and meaningful. This research highlights local Lombok culture, especially the process of making jackfruit dodol, as a context for learning value comparisons. The research uses a qualitative approach with a development studies type design research method. Research steps include studying the concept of value comparison, constructivism theory, and the relationship between local culture and mathematics. The learning design developed emphasizes the involvement of students as learning subjects (constructivist learning) to build understanding through direct experience. It is hoped that this ethnomathematics-based learning will not only improve students' understanding of mathematics but also introduce and preserve local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to develop PAI teaching materials that are valid, interesting, and effective in PAI learning at State Vocational School (SMKN) 1 Singosari. This type of research is development research by adapting the procedural steps of the IQF curriculum development model. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires. The data analysis used in this research is simple linear regression. The results of the expert trial obtained the results of the level of feasibility or validity and the attractiveness of PAI teaching materials with an interdisciplinary approach with good qualifications. Meanwhile, the level of effectiveness measured through pre-test and post-test in the initial field trial of FKIP Unej students showed an increase in learning outcomes reaching 27.89% with the results of calculating the t-test obtained that the t-count value was 13,101 greater than the t-table, which was 2.003. In the follow-up field trial of class X students, it showed an increase in learning outcomes reaching 32.41% with the results of calculating the t-test obtained that the t-count value was 21.005 greater than the t-table, namely 1.990. Thus, it means that PAI teaching materials with an interdisciplinary approach that have been developed are proven to be valid, interesting and effective in improving student learning outcomes at SMKN 1 Singosari.

Abstract

This study is to find out the Al-Quran learning strategy using digital Iqro on the emotional monitoring of dyslexic students in primary schools in Banten Province. This study uses a quasi-experimental study design using a quantitative approach, and 100 respondents were selected purposively. A set of questionnaires was used and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the SPSS program. The results of the descriptive study from the Al-Quran learning strategy, the Wafa 1 Iqro reading assessment, and the emotional monitoring of dyslexic students overall mean scores were higher for the digital group compared to the conventional group. The study also found that there was a significant difference in mean scores between the digital group and the conventional group with a p-value of 0.00 < α = 0.05 for Al-Quran learning (direct and indirect) and emotional monitoring, except for the Wafa 1 Iqro reading assessment with a p-value of 0.05, and the set significance level of α = 0.05 is the same. Then there was also a significant difference (p = 0.00 < 0.05) together for the Al-Quran learning strategies (direct and indirect) between the reading assessment of emotional monitoring based on groups (conventional and digital) in this study. Therefore, this study can contribute to the field of knowledge or theory for teachers, schools, and policymakers in education to realize education in the current era of Society 5.0.
