Abstract

The Python training program for a fish catch prediction system in Pasaran Island, Bandarlampung, aims to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of fishery forecasts for local fishermen. Utilizing machine learning algorithms, the system processes environmental data such as sea surface temperature, chlorophyll levels, and weather conditions. This training introduces participants to Python basics, data processing, and the implementation of predictive algorithms like linear regression and artificial neural networks. Results from the training indicate an improvement in participants' understanding of predictive technology, directly supporting decision-making in fisheries activities. Furthermore, the application of this technology is expected to reduce reliance on less precise traditional methods. By integrating spatial and temporal data, this program delivers a prediction system that adapts to changing marine ecosystems, supporting sustainable fishery resource management. The study contributes to the coastal community's capacity to address challenges posed by climate change and marine economic dynamics.

Abstract

Well-organized village administration is an essential factor in supporting transparency and government effectiveness. However, many villages still face challenges in systematically managing administrative documents. This community service activity aims to provide training to village officials on effective document management. The method used in this activity is practice-based training with a participatory approach. The results of this training show an increase in understanding and skills in village document management. With this assistance, it is expected that village administration will be more structured and accountable.

Abstract

The degradation of mangrove forests in Parangloe Village, Makassar City, prompted the implementation of an integrated mangrove rehabilitation program through an eco-edu-tourism approach. This initiative aimed to restore coastal ecosystems while enhancing community awareness and participation through environmental education. A total of 3,000 Rhizophora sp. seedlings were planted collaboratively by over 100 local residents, reflecting strong social involvement. The outcomes demonstrated significant ecological impacts, including shoreline stabilization, habitat provision for coastal biota, and blue carbon sequestration. Socially, the program fostered community solidarity, improved environmental literacy, and created economic opportunities through the development of educational tourism. Mangrove rehabilitation based on eco-edu-tourism has proven to be an effective strategy that integrates conservation, education, and community empowerment toward sustainable coastal development.

Abstract

Low financial literacy among teenagers in rural areas is a challenge that needs to be addressed immediately. The FINACT (Financial Innovation and Annuity Concepts for Teens) program is designed as a form of community service that aims to introduce basic concepts of financial planning, especially annuities, through an interactive and contextual approach. This activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 5 Kairatu with discussion-based learning methods, simulations, and educational games. The results of the activity showed an increase in student participation and interest in financial topics, although there were obstacles in basic arithmetic skills. Communication of financial literacy with basic mathematics learning and an adaptive approach to student understanding are needed. The program shows potential as an initial step in forming a more financially capable young generation.

Abstract

Plant cell differentiation can only be understood visually by students through observation with a microscope. The ability of junior high school students to use microscopes is still limited so that practicum activities for making preparations are needed. This activity aims to improve student understanding and skills about monocular and binocular microscopes and making plant preparations to observe stomatal and epidermal cells. The implementation method includes lectures, interactive discussions, question and answer sessions, and making fresh plant preparations and proper microscope usage techniques. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to operate a microscope, make fresh plant preparations, and observe cells. The level of enthusiasm of the participants was quite high, especially when they managed to observe stomatal and epidermal cells directly through the microscope.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to apply computational technology as a solution to various problems faced by the community in Bandar Lampung City. The identified issues include low digital literacy, limited use of software for economic activities, and the need for simple information systems to support local initiatives. The implementation method involved basic computational training, development of simple applications based on local needs, and mentoring in digital technology utilization. The results showed an improvement in participants’ ability to use computational tools, understand basic programming concepts, and apply technology to increase efficiency and productivity in daily activities. The implications indicate that the application of computational technology has significant potential to empower communities and strengthen digital transformation at the local level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi di SD Negeri 28 Kota Tual melalui penerapan aplikasi presensi online berbasis AppSheet. Sebelum kegiatan, proses absensi guru masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga menimbulkan berbagai kendala seperti kesalahan pencatatan dan lambatnya rekap data. Kegiatan ini melibatkan guru dan tenaga kependidikan SDN 28 Kota Tual sebagai mitra. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, dilakukan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi AppSheet untuk mendukung sistem absensi berbasis digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi presensi online ini mampu meningkatkan kecepatan, akurasi, dan transparansi proses absensi guru. Mitra mampu menggunakan aplikasi secara mandiri untuk merekap kehadiran harian dengan integrasi Google Spreadsheet. Dengan demikian, sistem presensi berbasis AppSheet ini dapat dijadikan model sederhana yang efektif bagi sekolah-sekolah lain di daerah dengan sumber daya terbatas.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi teknologi dan pemahaman dasar mengenai kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) di kalangan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Maluku Tengah. Program bertajuk AI Starter Lab ini memperkenalkan konsep, aplikasi, dan etika penggunaan AI melalui pendekatan pembelajaran interaktif dan berbasis proyek. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap utama, yaitu sosialisasi, pelatihan praktik (simulasi regresi linear sederhana dan pembuatan chatbot), serta pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar AI dan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan kemampuan berpikir logis serta etis yang lebih baik dalam menggunakan teknologi digital. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa literasi AI dapat diajarkan secara sederhana dan inklusif, bahkan di wilayah dengan keterbatasan infrastruktur digital seperti Maluku Tengah.

Abstract

The challenge of plastic waste management persists in several nations, including Indonesia. Society's increasing use of plastic garbage exacerbates this issue. Karangluas village faces challenges in managing plastic garbage. Consequently, this community service initiative offers a solution for the conversion of plastic garbage into eco-paving blocks. The methodology employed in the training activity includes the preparatory phase to ascertain community issues and requirements through interviews, surveys, and observations. The implementation stage encompasses the production of eco-paving blocks, beginning with trash sorting and culminating in the fabrication of the paving blocks. This initiative aims to mitigate environmental and waterway pollution while enhancing the comprehension and economic welfare of the Karangluas village community.

Abstract

Acidic soil with pH < 6 is one of the main constraints in agricultural development in tropical areas, including in Karanjang Hamlet, Wayame Village. This condition causes low nutrient availability and metal toxicity that inhibits plant growth. This community service aims to increase farmers' knowledge about selecting plant species that are tolerant to acidic soil and land management techniques. The method used is a participatory approach through extension, demonstration, and hands-on practice involving 30 farmers in Karanjang Hamlet. Extension activities were conducted on May 23, 2025, with materials covering characteristics of acidic soil, pH effects on plants, tolerant plant species, and soil amelioration techniques. The results showed a 75% increase in farmers' knowledge about acid-tolerant plants such as cassava, corn, peanuts, and coffee. Practice evaluation showed that 80% of participants were able to identify symptoms of soil acidity and apply liming techniques and organic matter application. This program successfully increased farmers' awareness about the importance of acidic soil management for sustainable agricultural productivity.
