Abstract

Adolescence is a period of development that is vulnerable to the emergence of various psychological problems, one of which is anxiety. This article aims to examine the dynamics of anxiety in adolescents as well as the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in preventive, curative, development, and collaborative efforts in the educational environment. The method used is a literature review by reviewing 18 relevant scientific articles published between 2010–2026, which was obtained through Google Scholar search. The study results show that adolescent anxiety is influenced by internal factors such as self-esteem, body image, personality type, and self-control, as well as external factors such as family support, academic pressure, and social media use. The most consistent and effective interventions in reducing anxiety are the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, social skills training, and expressive therapy such as art therapy. BK services have a strategic role in conducting early detection, providing psychoeducation, carrying out individual and group counseling, and collaborating with teachers and parents to create a supportive environment. Thus, the strengthening of the BK program based on scientific evidence becomes an important step in supporting the mental health of adolescents at school.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teacher professionalism in character education based on Islamic values and its strategic role in shaping students with noble character. Teachers as professional educators are not only tasked with imparting knowledge, but also have the responsibility to instill moral and spiritual values in students. From an Islamic educational perspective, teacher professionalism is measured not only by pedagogical and academic competence, but also by personal integrity and the ability to internalize Islamic values in the learning process. Values such as honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, exemplary behavior, and piety are the main foundations in building student character. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study type. Data were obtained from various library sources such as books, scientific journals, and laws and regulations relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that teacher professionalism has a significant influence on the success of character education based on Islamic values. Teachers who have good pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competence based on Islamic values are able to create a conducive learning environment and shape student character optimally. Improving teacher professionalism integrated with Islamic values is essential to facing the challenges of modern education. This effort is expected to produce a generation that is not only intellectually superior but also possesses strong character and noble morals in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' symbolic capital and power relations in the classrooms of MI Muhammadiyah Petambakan. Although studies on teacher authority have been widely conducted, research that specifically examines teachers' symbolic capital in the context of rural Islamic elementary schools remains relatively limited. This study employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents, as well as documentation to gain an in-depth understanding of teacher–student interactions in the learning process. The findings reveal that teachers' symbolic capital is constructed through authority, professional status, and social legitimacy recognized within the school community, positioning teachers as respected figures of authority. Power relations in the classroom are characterized by teachers' dominance in controlling the learning process, while students tend to follow the directions provided. Furthermore, disciplinary practices indicate that teachers' symbolic authority is utilized to maintain classroom order, although opportunities for two-way interaction between teachers and students remain present. These findings support Bourdieu's theory of social reproduction while also demonstrating that teacher power relations in madrasahs are not always repressive in nature. Instead, they function as mechanisms for maintaining order and facilitating the internalization of values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ emotional approach strategies toward students, students’ responses to the emotional approaches applied by teachers, and their impact on the effectiveness of learning at MTs Plus Sunan Drajat 7. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consist of teachers, students, and school officials selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, which encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The research results indicate that teachers’ emotional approach strategies are implemented through warm and open communication, providing attention and empathy to students, offering motivation and positive reinforcement, creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, and adopting an individualized approach toward students facing learning difficulties or personal issues. This strategy received a positive response from students, as evidenced by an increased sense of comfort in learning, higher motivation to learn, improved self-confidence, and active engagement in learning activities. In addition, the teachers’ emotional approach had a significant impact on the effectiveness of learning, namely increased motivation to learn, student participation in the learning process, the creation of a conducive classroom atmosphere, improved learning outcomes, and the development of students’ character and social skills. Thus, the teacher’s emotional approach is one of the effective strategies in supporting the success of learning and the holistic development of students at MTs Plus Sunan Drajat 7.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of digital learning media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) classes in elementary schools through a literature review approach. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained from 10 national journal articles published between 2022 and 2025 that were relevant to the research topic. Data collection was conducted through documentation, namely reading, identifying, recording, and grouping important information from each article. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that various digital learning media used in PAI instruction in elementary schools include digital comics, Wordwall, animated videos, YouTube, Google Classroom, educational websites, interactive applications, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based media. The use of these media has been proven to enhance learning motivation, interest in learning, attention focus, student engagement, and the learning outcomes of students. The effectiveness of digital media is influenced by an engaging media design, alignment with student characteristics, the availability of technological infrastructure, and the teacher’s role as a learning facilitator. Thus, digital learning media can serve as an effective alternative in creating PAI instruction that is more engaging, interactive, innovative, and meaningful, in line with the demands of technological advancements in the digital age.
