Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the effect of positive and death cases from COVID-19, the exchange rate, the Dow Jones Index, and the NASDAQ Index on the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI). This study used time series data which divided into three periods, namely the initial period of the pandemic (2 March 2020 - 31 August 2020), the new normal period (1 September 2020 - 1 March 2021), and the vaccination period (2 March 2021 - 31 August 2021). This study used quantitative methods with multiple regression analysis techniques. This study added a robustness check by using positive and death cases of COVID-19 as moderating variables. The results showed that the IDR/USD exchange rate and the Dow Jones index, respectively, had a negative and positive effect on the JCI. Meanwhile, positive and death cases of COVID-19 and the NASDAQ index had no effect on the JCI. However, the results of the robustness test suggested that the COVID-19 cases indirectly strengthened and weakened other variables on the JCI.

Abstract

The Product reviews on YouTube Channel offer information for consumers to evaluate products before making a decision.  Understanding how consumers adopt the information and its impact on purchase intention becomes crucial. This study aims to determine the influence of information usefulness and information adoption on purchase intention on YouTube channels. The study developed a research model based on the Information Adoption Model (IAM) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). A survey design was employed to test the proposed linkages among variables with a sample size of 447 respondents by the purposive sampling method. The study deploys the partial least squares path modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze the data. The results confirmed that relevance, comprehensiveness, source expertise,  attitude toward information, and information usefulness positively affect information adoption and purchase intention. Additionally, attitude toward  information has a positive influence on behavioral intentions. However, timeliness, accuracy, and source expertise do not have any significant relationship with the information usefulness.

Meanwhile, the financial digitization variable has a significant effect on changes in income. Female MSEs in the tourist aisle who have not used financial digitization have decreased income opportunities by 0.126, stagnant income opportunities by 0.495, and income opportunities increased by 0.378. Meanwhile, female MSEs who have used financial digitalization have decreased income opportunities by 0.027, stagnant income opportunities by 0.212, and income opportunities increased by 0.761. This means that female MSE actors in the tourist aisle who have used digitalization of finance have smaller and stagnant income opportunities and have greater opportunities for increased income compared to female MSE actors who have not used financial digitalization.

Abstract

The furniture industry is one of the potential industries in Indonesia with an export value of up to USD 3.5 billion in 2022. The utilization of wood raw materials in the furniture industry is one of the main aspects of furniture manufacturing. Various risks in the supply chain process for procuring wood raw materials can cause losses and obstacles that affect the productivity of the furniture industry. This study aims to develop and select an effective risk mitigation strategy in the process of procuring wood raw materials in one of the furniture industries in Semarang, Central Java, namely PT ABC. House of Risk (HOR) is used in this research method by identifying risk events, risk agents and determining the choice of an effective risk mitigation strategy according to the Effectiveness to Difficulty (ETD) value. The results showed that there were a total of 18 risk events and 21 risk agents in PT ABC's wood raw material procurement process. The first phase HOR produces 5 priority risk agents including A11, A14, A2, A15, and A9 with each Aggregate Risk Potential (ARP) value of 936, 540, 420, 396 and 324. The second phase HOR produces 5 preventive actions with the highest ETD values are PA2, PA33, PA6, PA7, PA4 with ETD of 3096, 2241, 1260, 1260 and 1215.
