Abstract

This research aims to examine the integration of Qur'anic values in science education and its impact on students' understanding of the relationship between revelation and logic in science. Along with the development of education that demands the merging of scientific knowledge and ethics, this research tries to explore how religious values can enrich science learning in Islamic-based schools. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The main data sources come from in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as observation of the Qur'an-based science learning process in several schools. This study aims to find out how Qur'anic values are applied in science learning and how they affect the development of students' moral attitudes and scientific understanding. The results show that the integration of revelation in science education has a positive impact on students' critical and reflective attitude towards science, while strengthening their moral understanding. Despite the challenges in linking scientific concepts with religious values, the application of Qur'anic values in science education proved to make an important contribution in shaping a more holistic student character, with a balance between scientific knowledge and moral ethics.

Abstract

The utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, particularly in formative assessment, has shown great potential in improving the quality of learning. This research aims to explore the application of AI in formative assessment to improve accuracy, efficiency and personalisation of learning. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research with an experimental approach. Data sources were obtained from 150 students and 30 teachers in three schools that have implemented AI-based assessment systems. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of students' academic documents. The results showed that the majority of students and teachers (78% and 82% respectively) felt that AI provided faster and more objective feedback, and increased the personalisation of learning. The use of AI was also shown to speed up the identification of student weaknesses and allow for more timely follow-up. However, it was found that AI still faces challenges in capturing the qualitative aspects of students' answers, especially in tasks that require in-depth analysis. This study confirms that the application of AI in formative assessment can improve the quality of learning, although it requires improvement in the aspects of human interaction and technology readiness. This suggests the need for a more comprehensive strategy in the implementation of AI in educational settings.

Abstract

Character education is the main pillar in the development of superior human resources and integrity. In the context of a religious and pluralistic Indonesian nation, strengthening character through Islamic values that are aligned with Pancasila is a strategic need, especially in the digital era which is full of moral and social challenges. This research aims to analyse the integration model of Islamic character education in the frame of Pancasila through a digital approach in Islamic education units.This research uses a qualitative approach with an explorative case study type. Primary data sources were obtained from in-depth interviews with Islamic education teachers, principals, and students from three Islamic education institutions, namely MI Muhammadiyah Blora, and SMP 1 Blora and MAN 1 Blora. In addition, observation of the online learning process and analysis of supporting documents were conducted to strengthen data validity. The results showed that digital-based integration of Islamic and Pancasila character values has been implemented through various innovative approaches such as digital storytelling, project-based learning, and online platform collaboration. These strategies have proven effective in improving students' understanding and internalisation of character values in a contextualised manner. However, limited digital literacy among educators and lack of digital value content training are challenges in its implementation. This research recommends strengthening teachers' digital competence and developing a character curriculum that is systemically integrated with learning technology.

Abstract

Early childhood social-emotional development is a crucial aspect in character building and children's readiness for the next level of education. One of the determining factors in this process is the parenting patterns applied in the early childhood education environment, especially in PAUD institutions. This study aims to examine the implementation of positive parenting by educators and parents and analyse its implications for early childhood social-emotional development in PAUD institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study type. The main source of data came from informants consisting of PAUD teachers, principals, and parents of learners in three purposively selected PAUD institutions. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic approach. The results show that the consistent implementation of positive parenting in PAUD institutions contributes significantly to improving children's social-emotional abilities, such as emotion regulation, empathy, and social skills. This success is strongly influenced by teacher competence, parental involvement, and institutional support. On the other hand, institutions that do not have a positive parenting reinforcement system tend to show obstacles in shaping adaptive social behaviour in children. This study recommends the importance of synergy between schools and families in building a positive and sustainable parenting environment.

Abstract

Learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in the Merdeka Curriculum Era requires an innovative approach. However, the practice in the field is still dominated by conventional methods that do not involve students. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility and effectiveness of integrated learning packages that combine project-based teaching materials with media augmented reality (AR) for elementary/MI students. This study uses research and development methods (R&D) with a systematic ADDIE model. Research data sources involve material experts, media experts, class V teachers, and grade V SD/MI students as research and trial subjects. The results showed that the IPAS-PROAR learning package developed was declared very feasible by the expert validator and was very practical for use by teachers and students based on the response questionnaire analysis. Furthermore, the product is proven to be significantly effective in improving student learning outcomes, which is demonstrated by the achievement of the average N-Gain Score in the high category. This finding implies that the integration of project-based pedagogy with AR technology is a potential solution to create active, meaningful, and in accordance with the demands of 21st-century skills.

Abstract

21st-century education demands the development of critical thinking skills, yet classroom practices are still dominated by less effective conventional methods. This quasi-experimental study aimed to analyze the difference in effectiveness between Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) models in enhancing the critical thinking skills of high school students. The data sources were 90 students of class XI Social Studies at a public high school in  Bojonegoro Regency, divided into three groups: PjBL, PBL, and control. Data were collected using a validated structured essay test and analyzed using ANCOVA. The results showed that: (1) There was a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental groups (PjBL and PBL) and the control group; (2) Comparatively, the PjBL model proved significantly more effective than the PBL model in improving students' critical thinking skills. These findings indicate that while both constructivist models are effective, the product-oriented nature of PjBL has a more powerful impact on training synthesis and evaluation, the highest levels of critical thought. This study recommends that educators consider PjBL as a primary strategy to optimize the development of 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum positions authentic assessment as a key component in assessing students' holistic development. However, its implementation at the elementary school level faces various complex challenges. This qualitative phenomenological study aims to explore the experiences of Driving Teachers in implementing authentic assessment. Research data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 Driving Teachers in elementary schools who have implemented the Merdeka Curriculum for at least one year. The research findings reveal three main themes. First, there is a transformation of mindset from conventional assessment paradigms towards a facilitative-reflective approach. Second, teachers face dynamic challenges including administrative burdens and time constraints, yet develop collaborative strategies through communities of practice and technology utilization. Third, the implementation of authentic assessment significantly enhances student engagement and teachers' holistic understanding of student development. This study concludes that the implementation of authentic assessment is a transformative process requiring systemic and collaborative support. The development of digital platforms to simplify documentation and strengthen sustainable communities of practice is recommended.

Abstract

The implementation of post-pandemic hybrid learning has created complex challenges for teachers, potentially triggering burnout while schools are tasked with ensuring educator well-being (school well-being). This explanatory quantitative research aims to analyze the interaction between school well-being and teacher burnout in the context of hybrid learning, exploring the role of social support as a protective factor. Primary data was collected through standardized questionnaires from 250 high school teachers in Central Java with at least one year of experience in hybrid learning. The results revealed a significant and strong negative relationship between school well-being and burnout. The key finding of this study is that social support acts as a significant moderator, strengthening the protective effect of school well-being against burnout. Further analysis indicated that support from peers was more dominantly perceived compared to support from supervisors and the institution. This research concludes that investing in building a structured social support system, particularly from school leadership, is a strategic step to maximize the benefits of school well-being in preventing teacher burnout in the hybrid learning era.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of deep learning over the past decade has generated significant breakthroughs across various domains, including computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Despite its success, several scientific gaps remain, particularly regarding robustness, interpretability, scalability, and multi-modal integration. At the same time, Indonesia is undergoing an educational transformation through the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum), which emphasizes student autonomy, personalized learning, and contextualized pedagogy. Philosophically, these principles align with the notion of “deep learning” in education—learning that is mindful, meaningful, and sustainable. However, challenges such as teachers’ limited readiness, unequal infrastructure, and inconsistent implementation across schools hinder the realization of these ideals. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach, relying on document analysis of scholarly literature, policy documents, and empirical studies. Data analysis follows content analysis procedures to identify, categorize, and interpret themes related to deep learning’s technological and pedagogical dimensions. Findings highlight that while deep learning technologies require more robust, transparent, and resource-efficient designs, their educational parallel—deep, reflective learning—faces constraints in teacher training, assessment practices, and local contextualization. To address these challenges, the study proposes strategies for integrating deep learning principles into Kurikulum Merdeka through systematic teacher capacity-building, student-centered learning approaches, blended learning models, authentic assessment, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Theoretically, this research contributes to the interdisciplinary discourse linking artificial intelligence and curriculum reform. Practically, it provides recommendations for enhancing teacher competencies, instructional models, and policy support to ensure that the integration of deep learning fosters effective, high-quality, and sustainable education in 21st-century Indonesia.
