Abstract

Hospitalization in preschool children (3–6 years) can cause anxiety due to environmental changes, medical procedures, and limited social interaction. One effort that can be done to reduce this anxiety is with play therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of play therapy with plasticine on reducing anxiety levels in preschool children undergoing treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital. This study design uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach, pre-test and post-test with an intervention group. The sample consisted of 41 children aged 3–6 years who were divided, selected by total sampling technique. Measurement of anxiety levels was carried out using an observation sheet based on children's anxiety indicators. The results of data analysis showed that the level of anxiety in children due to hospitalization before being given therapy was 100% of all respondents experienced moderate anxiety. After being given therapy, the majority of respondents, 87.8%, experienced mild anxiety. The p value is 0.001 because p <0.05. This means that the effect of play therapy with plasticine on reducing anxiety due to hospitalization in preschool children (3–6 years) at Bhayangkara Hospital Bengkulu. Plasticine play therapy has been shown to be effective as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety caused by hospitalization in preschool-aged children. It is hoped that this therapy can be implemented as part of pediatric nursing care in hospitals.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease often called a silent killer because it can cause serious complications and even sudden death. According to WHO data from 2022, there are 1.28 billion adults with hypertension, and this number is predicted to increase to 1.5 billion by 2025. This study aims to determine the implementation of progressive muscle relaxation therapy to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The method used is a descriptive case study on a 47-year-old female patient with stage 1 hypertension. The intervention was given for six consecutive days, with a duration of 15 minutes per session. The results showed a decrease in average systolic blood pressure of 7.1 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 3.6 mmHg, as well as a decrease in headache complaints from a scale of 4 to 2. Conclusion: progressive muscle relaxation therapy is effective in helping to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients, so it can be an alternative non-pharmacological intervention in health services.

Abstract

Based on the percentage of countries with the largest tobacco producers in the world, Indonesia is in sixth place with a tobacco production of 136 thousand tons or around 1.91% of the world's total tobacco production. The number of smokers in the world reaches 2.8 billion people, where every year there are 5 million people who die from diseases caused by cigarettes. This study aims to determine the relationship between Self Efficacy and Perception of Advertising on Cigarette Packs with Motivation to Quit Smoking in Adolescents of SMA 4 Smokers in Rejang Lebong Regency in 2024. The method used is an analytical research design with cross sectional. The population in this study were male adolescents at SMA Negeri 4 Rejang Lebong, sampling using the random sampling method (random) of 55 students, using chi-Square analysis. The results of the study showed that out of 55 respondents, almost most of the respondents had Good Self Efficacy, most of the respondents had Good Perception of Cigarette Advertising, most of the respondents had Low Motivation to Quit Smoking. There is a significant relationship between Self Efficacy and Perception of Advertisements on Cigarette Packs with Motivation to Quit Smoking in Adolescent Smokers at SMA Negeri 4 Rejang Lebong Regency in 2024, (p=0.001, 0.034) (p=0.000). It is recommended for schools and guidance and counseling teachers to provide guidance to adolescent smokers in high school to avoid future health complications that can damage adolescent mindsets.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the chronic cardiovascular diseases that is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Anxiety is a psychological factor that can influence hypertension. If this condition persists without proper management, it may affect the quality of life of the elderly (Hasniati et al., 2022). Five-finger hypnosis therapy is a relaxation technique in which individuals create pleasant imagery, concentrate on it, and gradually release their attention from anxiety.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, 1.56 billion people will be living with hypertension by 2025, and approximately 9.4 million deaths occur each year. In Indonesia, the prevalence reaches 34.1%, and in Bengkulu Province, it increases to 32.83%. At Tresna Werdha Pagar Dewa Social Home in Bengkulu City, the number of elderly people with hypertension continues to increase, namely 17 people (2022), 21 people (2023), and 23 people (2024). One potential non-pharmacological treatment method is the administration of carrot juice (Daucus carota L.), as it contains potassium, magnesium, and beta-carotene, which can help lower blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of carrot juice administration on lowering blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The research subject was a 73-year-old male elderly person with mild hypertension. The intervention was carried out by giving 200 ml of carrot juice every morning for 7 consecutive days. It was found that blood pressure before therapy was 149/94 mmHg, and then after 7 days of carrot juice administration, the patient's blood pressure decreased to 137/86 mmHg, showing a decrease of 12 mmHg systolic and 8 mmHg diastolic. In addition, the patient also experienced improvement in symptoms such as reduced dizziness and sleep disturbances. In conclusion, regular carrot juice administration is effective in lowering blood pressure in elderly individuals with mild hypertension. This therapy can serve as a non-pharmacological alternative.

Hypertension is a condition in which systolic blood pressure exceeds 120 mmHg and diastolic pressure exceeds 80 mmHg. The purpose of this study is to apply acupressure therapy to ruduce headaches in hypertensive partients through the application of Jean Watson’s theory at the Lingkar Timur Community Health Center Bengkulu City in 2025.

Abstract

Gastritis is a condition characterized by acute or chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa. Gastritis can occur due to excess stomach acid, and stomach pain is caused by mucosal erosion, which can lead to an increase in chemical mediators such as prostaglandins and histamine in the stomach. The incidence of gastritis Indonesia is 40.8%, with a prevalence of 274,396 cases, making it the 10th most common type of gastritis in Indonesia.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the major nutritional problems that has become a global concern. In 2024, there were 4,113 cases of stunting among toddlers in Sukoharjo, accounting for 9.42%. The highest number of stunting cases among toddlers was recorded at the Polokarto Public Health Center, with 640 cases, where Mranggen Village contributed 80 cases in 2025. Objective: To determine the description of factors causing stunting among toddlers in Mranggen Village, Polokarto Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency. Method: This study used a descriptive quantitative design with a total sampling technique involving 80 mothers of stunted toddlers as respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through frequency distribution. Results: The results show that the majority of respondents were aged 20–35 years, totaling 59 respondents (73.8%). Most of the mothers were housewives, amounting to 58 respondents (72.5%). The majority of infants had a birth weight  ≥ 2500 grams, with 70 respondents (87.5%). Respondents with an income below the regional minimum wage (Rp. 2,359,488.00) totaled 59 respondents (73.8%). Mothers who provided exclusive breastfeeding for six full months were 52 respondents (65.0%). In terms of education, most mothers had completed senior high school, totaling 50 respondents (62.5%). Meanwhile, the level of knowledge was categorized as good in 26 respondents (32.5%), moderate in 38 respondents (47.5%), and poor in 16 respondents (20.0%). Conclusion: The factors influencing stunting among toddlers in Mranggen Village, Polokarto District, Sukoharjo Regency include maternal age, occupation, birth weight (BBL), income, exclusive breastfeeding, education, and maternal knowledge. Nutritional education and economic support need to be strengthened to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
