Abstract

Abstract. In the growth of microorganisms such as fungi, it is necessary to grow a medium that can provide nutrients and as an energy source. Other alternative carbohydrate sources include potatoes, breadfruit, sago, and cassava, which is a distinctive and easy to find food companion. This type of research is descriptive with cross sectional design that aims to determine the difference in alternative media variation from various sources of carbohydrate to Candida albicans. The samples were then made to be the treatment for the creation of alternative media from various carbohydrate sources that further carried out the growth test against Candida albicans. The results of the study are the average growth of colonies on alternative media from Potato carbide sources, namely 655 colonies, breadfruit 1380 colonies, cassava 862 colonies, 372 sago colonies, and semi-synthetic media as a control of 874 colonies. This indicates there is growth of Candida albicans on all alternative media so that it can be used as an alternative medium of fungi growth, as well as the best growth of Candida albicans found in the media Breadfruit Dextrose Agar. Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the use of pandan leaf extracts to evaluate the levels of calcium and phosphorus of salted duck eggs. The results showed that the effect of the addition of leaf extracts on the evaluation of calcium levels and phosphorus levels in salted duck eggs with different concentrations, did not have a significant effect or had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on calcium content, T0 treatment was not significantly different from T1, T2 and T3 and vice versa. even so but it still has an increase in calcium levels. Treatment of calcium levels from lowest to highest are T1 (0.15%), T0 (0.16%), T3 (0.17%) and T2 (0.17%). Phosphorus levels in salted duck eggs given pandan leaf extract with different concentrations have a very significant effect (P <0.05) on the phosphorus content, T0 treatment is significantly different from T1, T2, and T3, T1 is significantly different from T0 and T3 but not significantly different from T2, T2 is significantly different from T0 but not significantly different from T1 and T3, T3 is significantly different from T0 and T1 but not significantly different from T2. even so but it still has an increase in calcium levels. Calcium levels from lowest to highest are T0 (0.19%), T3 (0.23%), T2 (0.23%) and T1 (0.26%). The conclusion is that the treatment of the addition of fragrant pandan leaf extract can not affect calcium levels but affect the levels of phosphorus salted duck eggs. The best treatment is T3 treatment (30% pandanus fragrant leaf extract) with a value of 0.16 calcium levels and a value of phosphorous content 0.22. Abstract

Abstract. The purposes of this study were: 1) obtain information on the benefits of Moringa leaf extract which has the effectiveness in reducing blood glucose levels. specifically on Rattus norvegicus, 2) obtaining information about the concentration of Moringa oleifera leaf extract) has effectiveness in reducing blood glucose levels, specifically on Rattus norvegicus. Research conducted in the Laboratory of Biology Education Study Program at the Tadulako University FKIP in May until August 2018 and is an experimental study using the RAL method. The independent variable In this study was Moringa oleifera leaf extract, and the dependent variable was the glucose level on Rattus Norvegicus. Data analysis in this research was carried out using, analysis of quantitative Anava data with the help of SPSS Version18. Significant results of an analysis of variance (ANAVA) obtained a significance value of 0,000<α (0.05), which means rejecting Ho and accepting H1. Thus it can be explained that Moringa leaf extract has a significant effect on the reduction in blood glucose levels in rats (Rattus governors). When seen in the results of the analysis of the advanced test using the Duncan test, the best concentration in reducing glucose levels is on the M4 treatment, with Duncan test results that are different from the other, amounting to 113.40. Abstract

Abstract. This research is a descriptive study that aims to determine the morphological characteristics of Marica goats. That are kept outside the habitat. Observation of morphological characteristics and eating activities using 2 goats (1 male and 1 female). This research was conducted at the Biology Experiment Garden in Makassar State University. The results obtained by Marica Goat have a relatively small body dimensions, upright ears and relatively small short, short and small horns and look agile and aggressive and Marica goats during the day (09.00-16.00) do more eating activities. Abstract

Abstract. Scabies disease or in society better known as scurvy is a parasitic infection of the skin caused by Sarcoptes scabei var hominis. The incidence of scabies in developing countries shows a cycle of fluctuation or increase. The distribution, prevalence, and infection of this parasitic skin disease depend on the area and population studied. This counseling was held in Takalar District with 15 respondents as being school teachers. Outreach results obtained knowledge of the increase in respondents' knowledge. The average proportion of knowledge before counseling was 60.83%, after counseling it increased to 92.22%.Keywords: Scabies, Counseling, Takalar

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect and prove the composition of the planting media and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer that can provide growth and yield of mustard plants. The design used was a randomized block design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor is the composition of the planting medium which is a mixture of soil, charcoal husk, and manure consisting of three compositions, namely 1: 2: 2, 2: 2: 1, 2: 1: 2. The second factor is the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 2.5 ml / l, 5 ml / l, 7.5 ml / l. The results showed that the interaction between the use of the composition of the planting media and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer was appropriate, namely a ratio of 1: 2: 2 and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer of 7.5 ml / l significantly affected the observation parameters of leaf width, leaf length, and weight plant.Keywords: Growing media, liquid organic fertilizer, mustard plant

Abstract

Abstract. Tanjung Aan Beach is one of the beaches in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), Lombok Island which is prone to tsunami disasters. Moreover, the vegetation on Tanjung Aan Beach has experienced a lot of degradation. Therefore it is necessary to conduct research to determine the types of plants (vegetation) that have the potential to mitigate tsunamis at Tanjung Aan Beach, MSEZ, Central Lombok. The research was conducted with the exploration method (roaming). Based on the research, it can be seen that in Tanjung Aan Beach, Central Lombok there are 3 (types) of plants that have the potential to mitigate the tsunami disaster, namely: Hibiscus tiliaceus, Pandanus utilis, and Terminalia catappa.Keywords: mitigation, tanjung aan beach, tsunami, vegetation

Abstract

Abstrak. Meningkatnya  jumlah   penduduk  dunia  akan  membuat  kebutuhan  energi negara-negara  di dunia  meningkat  termasuk  Indonesia.  Ketersediaan  minyak  bumi  Indonesia  semakin  menipis sehingga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan minyak dalam negeri. Indonesia harus import  minyak dari negara  lain. Hal  ini  perlu  adanya  energi  baru  dan  terbarukan  yang  mampu  memenuhi kebutuhan  energi  dalam negeri.  Salah  satu  energi  baru  tersebut  yaitu  bioetanol.  Bioetanol merupakan  penyebutan  alkohol  atau  etanol  yang  bersumber  dari  bahan  hayati,  salah  satunya adalah  nira  siwalan.  Artikel ini memberikan ulasan tentang bahan bakar alternatif dari fermentasi nira lontar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan data sekunder sebagai sumber datanya. Adapun hasil dari telaah pustaka yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa, tingginya kandungan gula pada nira lontar yang berkisar antara 10-30% menjadikannya potensial untuk dikembangkan menjadi bioetanol. Namun, studi lebih lanjut harus dilakukan untuk menentukan efektivitas dan efisiensi penggunaan bahan bakar dari nira lontar pada mesin-mesin kendaraan.Kata Kunci: Bioetanol, Nira Lontar, Bahan Bakar Alternatif, Energi Terbarukan

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of red ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale R) on the pH value and cooking losses. The study was conducted in January 2018 at the Laboratory of Animal Product Processing Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL), where factor A (level of red ginger extract and papaya fruit skin) 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% were interacted with a factor B (soaking time) of 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes which was repeated three times. The results showed no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the value of cooking losses. The treatment of using red ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale R) as a natural enzyme that had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the pH value. In factor A (extract level) to the pH value, this can be seen from the average effect of A is J0 = 6.24%, J1 = 6.28%, J2 = 6.26% and J3 = 6.40%. In factor B (duration of immersion) does not affect the pH value that can be seen from the average effect of B is W1 = 6.14, W2 = 6.41 and W3 = 6.34. The conclusion of this study was that the administration of red ginger extract in cooking losses could decrease in the treatment of P3 = 30.46% and the pH did not significantly affect the immersion long red ginger extract.Keywords: Red Ginger Extract, Natural Enzymes, pH Value and Shrinkage of Cook.
