Abstract

Abstract. Fungal species from the Ascomycota have a very important role, especially in their function as decomposers in the forest ecosystem. This study aims to identify the Ascomycota macrofungi found in TWA Suranadi. This is a descriptive exploratory study using the cruise method. Identification is done by matching the morphological characters with reference books and various scientific journals on macrofungi. Based on the results of the study, 3 species from Xylaria sp.1, Xylaria sp. 2 and Peziza sp.Keywords. fungi, Ascomycota, TWA Suranadi

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a type of experimental research carried out in a laboratory with the aim of knowing a symptom or effect that arises as a result of certain treatments. The research was conducted at the Immunobiology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mataram University. The material used in the study was 1 male Bali cow, about 3.5 years old with a cow weight of 460 kg, which the semen was collected using an artificial vagina. The experimental design used in this study was a completely randomized design which was arranged in a factorial design consisting of 3 (three) factors. The first factor is the difference in layer (L) which consists of 2 (two) levels, namely the Upper Layer (LA) and the Lower Layer (LB). The second factor is the concentration of tomato lycopene (P) consisting of 5 (five) levels, namely: 0% (P0), 5% (P1), 10% (P2), 15% (P3) and 20% (P4). The third factor is storage time (H) which consists of 6 (six factors), namely 1 day (H1), 2 days (H2), 3 days (H3), 4 days (H4), 5 days (H5) and 6 days. (H6). The three factors combined to produce 60 treatment combinations, each treatment combination was repeated 6 (six) times so that there were 360 experimental units. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the addition of the tomato fruit lycopene antioxidant and the separation by the swim up method had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the normality and abnormality of spermatozoa. The addition of tomato fruit lycopene antioxidants and the separation using the swim up method did not have an effect on increasing spermatozoa abnormalities, but did not have a negative effect on the spermatozoa of bali cattle.Keywords: antioxidant, tomato fruit, spermatozoa, bali cow

Abstract

Abstract. Tanjung Aan Beach is one of the beaches in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (MSEZ), Lombok Island which is prone to tsunami disasters. Moreover, the vegetation on Tanjung Aan Beach has experienced a lot of degradation. Therefore it is necessary to conduct research to determine the types of plants (vegetation) that have the potential to mitigate tsunamis at Tanjung Aan Beach, MSEZ, Central Lombok. The research was conducted with the exploration method (roaming). Based on the research, it can be seen that in Tanjung Aan Beach, Central Lombok there are 3 (types) of plants that have the potential to mitigate the tsunami disaster, namely: Hibiscus tiliaceus, Pandanus utilis, and Terminalia catappa.Keywords: mitigation, tanjung aan beach, tsunami, vegetation

Abstract

Abstract. One group of plants most used by Indonesians as traditional medicine are plants from the Zingiberaceae family. The aims this study is to assess the level of knowledge and use of the Zingiberaceae family as traditional medicine by the Sasak people in Suranadi Village, Narmada District. This research was conducted using a descriptive exploratory method, which is presented in tabular form. Data collection was carried out by direct observation and semi-structured interviews. Inventory and identification were carried out on the Zingiberaceae family plants found based on observations. Based on the results, it was found that 5 (five) types of medicinal plants in the Zingiberaceae family were used by the Sasak people, namely Jae (Zingiber officinale), Kunyiq (Curcuma longa), Sekoh (Kaempferia galanga), Temu mango (Curcuma amada), Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza)).Keywords: Zingiberaceae family, traditional medicine, Suranadi village.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the diversity and characteristics of freshwater fish in Sungai lais, lais sub-district, Bengkulu Utara district, Bengkulu province. This research was conducted using survey methods and to obtain primary data taken into the field by direct capture. Samples were taken in sungai lais, lais sub-district, Bengkulu Utara regency is done by dividing 3 stations. Measurement of fish morphometric characteristics is done by measuring fish body parts including, total length (PT), standard length (PB), head length (PK), height (TB), body width (LB) and tail height (TE). The results showed that the diversity index which is found in the lais river which is classified as low, with a diversity index at station A 0.666, station B 0.724 and station C 0.522. The types of fish found in this study consisted of 8 species namely Cyprinus carpio (goldfish), Osteohilus vittatus (palau fish), Anabas testudienus (fish betok), Channa striata (cork fish), Oreochromis niloticus (tilapia), Oreochromis mossambicus (tilapia fish), Trighogaster trichopterus (sepat fish), and Clarias batrachus (catfish).Keywords: Diversity, Fish, Lais River, Morphometric Characteristic

Abstract

Abstract. Indonesia has abundant biodiversity, including ants (Formicidae). This study aims to determine the genus of Formicidae members in the garden of Al- Azhar Islamic University (Unizar), Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. The research was conducted by using the exploration method. Abstract

Abstract. Kombucha is a fermented beverage made from tea and sugar. This fermentation is a work of bacteria and yeast consorsia that make a powerful symbiosis cooperation resulting kombucha with quality chemically increased. This kombucha is a healthful beverage for its consumer. Fermentation process can change the tea phisically, such as its taste, colour and flavor. During the fermentation period, the total cell of bacteria and yeast also change. In this research, kombucha is made from 4 different tea, such as black tea, green tea, oolong tea and white tea. As a result, found that the tea as a substrate and also the fermentation period affect the total of colony and cell of bacteria and yeast. In white tea and black tea kombucha perform decreased of total cell bacteria and yeast by the fermentation period, while in green tea and oolong tea kombucha increased. Keywords. kombucha, fermentation, total microbes, SCOBY, haemacytometer

Abstract

Abstract. The research is Diversity of Medicinal Plants Families in the Community of Parepare City, South Sulawesi was conducted in Parepare city on September-October 2020. The ethnobotany research of the Parepare’s people to uncover the local knowledge of the community in utilizing the diversity of plants as medicinal plants. The method used in this research is interview, observation and documentation. Data was collected in four subdistricts in Parepare City, namely Ujung subdistrict, Soreang subdistrict, Bacukiki subdistrict and West Bacukiki subdistrict. The number of informants in this study were 100 people. Ethnobotany data collected in the form of community knowledge about natural resources of plants used as traditional medicinal ingredients. The Parepare’s people use 86 species of plants consisted of 40 families as medicinal materials. Zingiberaceae is the most widely uses species. Parepare’s people used 10 species medicinal plants from Zingiberaceae.Keywords: Diversity, Familia, medicinal plants, inventory, Parepare City, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Abstrak. Meningkatnya  jumlah   penduduk  dunia  akan  membuat  kebutuhan  energi negara-negara  di dunia  meningkat  termasuk  Indonesia.  Ketersediaan  minyak  bumi  Indonesia  semakin  menipis sehingga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan minyak dalam negeri. Indonesia harus import  minyak dari negara  lain. Hal  ini  perlu  adanya  energi  baru  dan  terbarukan  yang  mampu  memenuhi kebutuhan  energi  dalam negeri.  Salah  satu  energi  baru  tersebut  yaitu  bioetanol.  Bioetanol merupakan  penyebutan  alkohol  atau  etanol  yang  bersumber  dari  bahan  hayati,  salah  satunya adalah  nira  siwalan.  Artikel ini memberikan ulasan tentang bahan bakar alternatif dari fermentasi nira lontar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan data sekunder sebagai sumber datanya. Adapun hasil dari telaah pustaka yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa, tingginya kandungan gula pada nira lontar yang berkisar antara 10-30% menjadikannya potensial untuk dikembangkan menjadi bioetanol. Namun, studi lebih lanjut harus dilakukan untuk menentukan efektivitas dan efisiensi penggunaan bahan bakar dari nira lontar pada mesin-mesin kendaraan.Kata Kunci: Bioetanol, Nira Lontar, Bahan Bakar Alternatif, Energi Terbarukan

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of red ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale R) on the pH value and cooking losses. The study was conducted in January 2018 at the Laboratory of Animal Product Processing Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (RAL), where factor A (level of red ginger extract and papaya fruit skin) 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% were interacted with a factor B (soaking time) of 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes which was repeated three times. The results showed no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the value of cooking losses. The treatment of using red ginger extract (Zingiber Officinale R) as a natural enzyme that had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the pH value. In factor A (extract level) to the pH value, this can be seen from the average effect of A is J0 = 6.24%, J1 = 6.28%, J2 = 6.26% and J3 = 6.40%. In factor B (duration of immersion) does not affect the pH value that can be seen from the average effect of B is W1 = 6.14, W2 = 6.41 and W3 = 6.34. The conclusion of this study was that the administration of red ginger extract in cooking losses could decrease in the treatment of P3 = 30.46% and the pH did not significantly affect the immersion long red ginger extract.Keywords: Red Ginger Extract, Natural Enzymes, pH Value and Shrinkage of Cook.
