Abstract

Collecting the data under study was carried out according to the results of observations and findings of problems in the field in members of the extracurricular pencak silat at MI Assalam, North Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. The problem found by researchers was the lack of speed in the sickle kick, so that extracurricular members lacked speed in performing the sickle kick which resulted in not being optimal in matches and movements. A sickle kick means doing a side kick with the body moving half a turn and kicking using the shin. The purpose of this study was to determine how much the use of hanging ball media accelerates the kick of the pencak silat sickle and the effect of using hanging ball media to accelerate the kick of the pencak silat sickle. Hanging ball media as a medium in right and left sickle kick exercises to make it easier for extracurricular members to do sickle kicks, because if you practice continuously using patching for a long period the legs of children aged 8-12 years are very vulnerable. This research method uses an experimental method with a pre-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest) and a relatively low pretest so that the practice is given 12 meetings and produces a posttest score that is obtained which results in a fairly good increase for the experimental group. After processing the data using the paired sample T-test, the value of sig (2-tailed) is 0.000.

Abstract

The development of facilities for self-defense training is increasing rapidly, but researchers see that there are still no facilities for training kick and punch reactions, especially in martial arts sports, which use manual methods with signals as a stimulus through the sense of hearing in training kick and punch reactions in athletes, apart from that, researchers have also not seen any punching pads that use electrical components based on random flip-flops arranged in a microcontroller circuit as a means of training punch and kick reaction speed in martial arts sports. This research aims to develop facilities or media for the physical components of kicks and punches in the form of a punching pad stand with electric technology based on random flip-flops for the Jambi City martial arts sport. The development of punching pad stands is included in research and development. The punching pad stands for martial arts sports was developed using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluations) development model. This development research resulted in an Electric Punching Pad Stand product based on Random Flip-Flops and trials have been carried out in both small-group trials and large-group trials. The results of the large group trial were that the product received a percentage score of 84.77% from the comfort aspect, 81.52% from the performance aspect, and 83.53% from the appearance aspect. Meanwhile, for the average accumulated value of the three aspects above, the product received an average value of 83.27% and can be categorized as "Decent" with the criteria "Good".

Abstract

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common knee injuries. ACL tears are more common when pivoting and abrupt direction shifts. Ruptures of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) can lead to aberrant knee joint mechanics and persistent degenerative joint change, torn meniscus, cartilage loss, and other knee. The role of physiotherapy in post-operative cases of ACL reconstruction is very important to avoid various possibilities that arise post-surgery, such as limited joint range of motion (stiffness), muscle weakness, swelling for a long time, and so on. A 24-year-old male patient as footballer came to Fisiohands Clinic, Pekanbaru, complaining of pain and stiffness in the knee. The history of the case as the patient played football and fell with the worst position leg in February 2024. The patient underwent surgery at a hospital in Pekanbaru city and then chose to undergo physiotherapy at the physio hands clinic. Rehabilitation training was carried out for 2 weeks. Before starting exercise, vital signs are checked first to clarify the patient's general condition. The training program is a combination of Wall Slide Exercise (WSE) and Neuromuscular Taping (NMT) for 2 weeks. Several physical examinations were performed, including a Goniometer range of motion assessment and a Visual Analogue Scale assessment for knee pain. Exercises for the rehabilitation of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) after surgery help to lessen discomfort and improve joint range of motion. After ACL reconstruction, the knee joint range of motion was improved and pain was reduced with physiotherapy intervention that included six sessions of Neuromuscular Taping (NMT) and Wall Slide Exercise (WSE).

Abstract

The performance of athletes is not solely influenced by physical abilities but also by mental health, which plays a significant role in achieving optimal athletic performance. This research aimed to examine the impact of mental health on the performance of volleyball athletes at the Tiger Ball Club in East Bekasi District. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational method, data were collected through two questionnaires: one measuring mental health (including anxiety, stress, and depression) and the other evaluating athletic performance based on achievements in competitions. A total of 20 male athletes participated in the study. The results revealed that the athletes exhibited moderate levels of anxiety and stress, which negatively impacted their performance. While depression was less prevalent, it still contributed to a decrease in motivation. On the other hand, athletes who reported higher levels of mental well-being were more likely to achieve better results in competitions. The findings suggest that mental health significantly affects athletic performance, with anxiety, stress, and depression serving as key factors. The study recommends that mental health support, stress management programs, and recognition of individual achievements be implemented to enhance the athletes’ performance and overall well-being.
