Abstract

This study examined the quality of training programs and the nutritional status of young athletes at SSB Kancil Mas Karawang, a football school in Indonesia. The study used a quantitative descriptive method, utilizing structured surveys, tests, and field measurements to assess football skills and physical fitness. The study participants included 25 athletes, with data collected on November 13, 2024. Football skills were evaluated using dribbling, short passing, heading, and shooting tests, in addition to physical tests such as push-ups, sit-ups, and back-ups. Nutritional status was measured using Body Mass Index (BMI). The results showed that most athletes showed moderate to good physical abilities, but had significant deficits in heading skills (80% in the “poor” category) and shooting accuracy. Dribbling emerged as a strong skill, with 72% achieving “very good” results. Nutritional analysis revealed that all participants were underweight for their height, highlighting the need to improve a balanced diet. This imbalance affects endurance and increases the risk of injury, emphasizing the role of proper nutrition in athletic development. These findings highlight the importance of integrating science-based structured training and nutritional guidance into youth football programs to foster optimal physical and technical skills. The study offers actionable recommendations for improving training and nutrition, contributing to the broader development of football training in Indonesia.

Abstract

Physical tests are an important part of forming high-achieving athletes and are the main element in a coach's training program. This study aims to: (1) Produce a physical fitness test based on Vald Performance with the Nordbord tool for football school athletes at Askot PSSI West Jakarta; (2) Determine the feasibility and response to the use of Vald Performance with the Nordbord tool by athletes; and (3) Analyze the results of athletes' physical abilities using the test. This study uses a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The test development process involves validation tests and feasibility tests by experts in the field of sports technology. The Nordbord tool is used to measure the strength and imbalance of the hamstring muscles in various positions, which are important indicators of athlete performance. The results of the study show that the Vald Performance-based fitness test with the Nordbord tool received good validation from experts and positive responses from users. This test is considered effective and practical for identifying the level of strength and potential for hamstring muscle injury in football athletes. In addition, the test results provide accurate quantitative data to evaluate the physical condition of athletes individually, making it easier for coaches to design more specific and targeted training programs. The use of the Nordbord tool also shows great potential in improving the quality of athlete coaching in the soccer school environment. This study contributes to the development of technology-based physical fitness testing methods that can be widely applied to other sports.

Abstract

Basketball is a sport that relies on individual skills and teamwork in attack and defence. One important component in the success of a basketball game is physical condition, especially cardiovascular endurance. Good cardiovascular endurance allows an athlete to maintain optimal physical performance in high-intensity matches. This study aims to examine the effect of Circuit Training on increasing cardiovascular endurance in the Rasoex Cikarang basketball team. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a Purposive Sampling technique involving 13 participants. The training program was carried out for 4 weeks with 16 training meetings carried out routinely. Before and after the training program, cardiovascular endurance was measured to determine the effect of training on its improvement. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 24 with the Paired T-Test to see the difference in cardiovascular endurance scores before and after training. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the cardiovascular endurance of participants, with an average increase of 7.43% after participating in Circuit Training. These findings indicate that Circuit Training can increase cardiovascular endurance capacity, which has a positive effect on the performance of basketball athletes, especially in facing high intensity during matches. Thus, Circuit Training can be an effective training method for improving the physical endurance of basketball athletes

Abstract

Physical activity with eccentric movements has the potential to cause delayed pain after 24 hours. Efflurage and shaking manipulation are thought to be able to reduce delayed pain due to these activities. This study attempts to prove this hypothesis by conducting a study with a pretest and posttest experimental design. 15 people were selected using a purposive sampling method and then divided into 3 groups (X1: efflurage, X2: shaking, X3: control). Delayed pain was produced through squats, sumo squats, and lunges in 4 sets of 12 repetitions. Efflurage and shaking manipulations were performed for 10 minutes. Pain intensity was measured using a visual analogue scale. Pain intensity was measured 24, 48, and 72 hours after eccentric activity. In the first 24 hours, all groups experienced excruciating pain (VAS> 8). After intervention, the VAS value of X1 decreased by 38% in the first 24 hours, then decreased by 23.8% in the second 24 hours, and decreased by 38% in the third 24 hours. Meanwhile, the VAS X2 value decreased consecutively from 46.34% to 21.95% to 29.26% in the first to third 24 hours. The influence and difference test of X1 and X2 showed significant results (p <0.05) in the measurements of 24, 48, and 72 hours. The conclusion of the study showed that the response of shaking manipulation in reducing pain intensity occurred in the first 24 hours, while effluent manipulation successfully eliminated pain completely at 72 hours.
