Abstract

This study aimed to describe the level of readability, construction, and the effectiveness of sentences in research articles. The research data come from six research articles Makassar State University in 2011. Data collected through technical documentation with read-quoted. The results showed that: 1) the level of readability sentence in a scientific article written lecturers lower category, 2) construction of the phrase commonly used active form; 3) the ineffectiveness of the sentence, include: incoherence, confusion, incomplete elements, error passive, disunity ideas, and ketidakparalelan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of physical fitness strength training aspect to the achievement of karate athletes. Using a quasi-experimental research method. The population used is the athlete PON XVII in East Kalimantan. Total sample of 16 athletes athletes. The data analysis technique used is a t-test at the 95% significance level. The results showed that; (1) There was a significant effect of physical fitness training aspects of the strength of the results of the athlete's performance karate PON XVII in East Kalimantan in 2008, proved t0 = 4.875> tt = 2.131, (2) There was a significant effect of physical fitness training muscle endurance aspect of the results of achievement karate athletes PON XVII in East Kalimantan in 2008, proved t0 = 9.233> tt = 2.131, and (3) There was a significant effect of physical fitness training aspects of the general resistance against karate athlete's achievements PON XVII in East Kalimantan in 2008, proved t0 = 3.738> tt = 2.131.

Abstract

The study is aimed at finding out and describing the students’ improvement in writing an English composition and their attitude toward the use of factual readings as learning media. The study used quasi-experimental method with one experimental and one control classes. It was found that that there is a writing improvement of students in experiment group through the use of factual Reading with 18.72 higher. The result of t-test value shows that the improvement of students’ writing skill before and after given factual readings in writing practices is significantly reliable. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of factual Reading can help improving students’ writing skill

Abstract

This study used an experimental method that aims to determine the effectiveness of “buku pintar penulisan skripsi” in overcoming barriers to students so as to reduce student procrastination to the thesis. Respondents in this study were two students of the Faculty of Psychology UNM. The results of this study indicate that, “buku pintar penulisan skripsi” could reduce student procrastination in all aspects of the thesis, although not all aspects of a significant decline. Factors that cause changes to the thesis procrastination is not significant in every aspect is the thesis supervisor, and addicted to playing games on the students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to implement a model of Communication SMCR Berlo an effort to improve the mastery of German vocabulary (wortschatz) high school students in the city of Makassar. The design used in this study is one group pretest-posttest design. The technique of collecting data through vocabulary tests and questionnaires. The data obtained in this study were analyzed by descriptive quantitative t-test using SPSS 15.0 software program. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive narrative. The results show an increase in category seeing, hearing, touching, and smelling. Thus, the model inferred Berlo SCMR effective communication to enhance the students' mastery of the German language vocabulary

Abstract

This research aims to develop software process assessment and the results of applying the model statistics PKM-BC material. The study was designed with the development of the Model Plomp. The test device of assessment will be conducted at SMAN 11 and SMAN 3 Makassar.Untuk achieve the objectives of this study used a method of development of Plomp (1997), which consists of five phases. Based on research, the resulting asesen valid, practical, and effective. The resulting assessment device includes four dimensions of knowledge, that is faktual, konseptuap, procedural, and metacognitive.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model parenting, teenage emotional intelligence level, and models of care that tend to be positively and negatively affect adolescent emotional intelligence. Subjects were high school students Makassar. Samples were students of SMAN 3, 4, 5, 12, National High School and High School PGRI totaled 353 students. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential techniques through Amos and SPSS programs. The results showed: (1) in general adolescents in the city of Makassar have emotional intelligence in the category is quite high, especially in the aspect of recognizing emotions, empathy, and self-motivation; (2) patterns applied pengsuhan parents are more likely to vary, but in general parenting experienced by adolescents is parenting-child communication and parental nurturance pattern. (3) patterns of parenting to significantly influence the development of adolescent emotional intelligence.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student mastery of subject Mathematics Department Calculus II by implementing performance assessment problem solving strategies. This research is categorized as a class action research that uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subject of this research are students of mathematics, State University of Makassar, Academic Year 2009/2010 is programmed course calculus II, which numbered 50 students. Data collected by observation, questionnaire distribution, and administration tasks in a matter of solving the problem. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS program that includes a percentage, the maximum score, and the average value. And qualitative data were analyzed by first selecting or grouping, and then explain or describe, and finally concluded or give meaning.

Abstract

The study is designed to research and development (Research and Development). Methods of data collection using questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentation. Pemerian performed at the level of the needs assessment, the content validation and empirical validation. The results of the needs assessment models in general REA PKBK-oriented game experience through the adoption of microsoft paint program, Correl draw, and adop photo is needed in schools, especially for gifted education services. Limited test and analysis results show that a class of computer-based cognitive development in Reggio Emelia approach is better than the group of children who attend conventional learning
