IDARI: Jurnal Manajemen Dakwah berfokus pada pengembangan ilmu dan praktik manajemen dakwah dalam konteks keislaman, komunikasi, dan pengelolaan kegiatan sosial keagamaan keagamaan. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mempublikasikan hasil penelitian, kajian teoritis, dan analisis kritis yang berkontribusi pada kemajuan strategi, metode, dan inovasi dalam dakwah serta pengelolaan organisasi keagamaan. Ruang lingkup jurnal ini mencakup, namun tidak terbatas pada, topik-topik berikut: Manajemen Dakwah: Strategi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi kegiatan dakwah untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penyebaran nilai-nilai Islam. Manajemen Organisasi Keagamaan: Pengelolaan sumber daya, kepemimpinan, dan tata kelola organisasi keagamaan untuk mendukung misi dakwah. Pengembangan Komunitas Berbasis Islam: Upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pendekatan dakwah yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Inovasi Dakwah: Pengembangan metode, teknologi, dan pendekatan baru dalam dakwah untuk menjawab tantangan kontemporer. Isu Sosial dan Keagamaan: Analisis dampak sosial, budaya, dan politik terhadap pelaksanaan dakwah serta solusi berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. IDARI: Jurnal Manajemen Dakwah mendorong artikel yang bersifat interdisipliner, mengintegrasikan perspektif manajemen, komunikasi, sosiologi, antropologi, dan studi Islam (seperti tafsir, fikih, tasawuf dll.) untuk memberikan wawasan yang komprehensif. Jurnal ini menjadi platform bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi untuk berbagi ide, temuan, dan solusi guna memperkaya wacana dan praktik dakwah di era modern.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of corporate management functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) in improving the discipline of students at the Ahlul Qur'an Tahfidz Boarding School in Tangerang. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with boarding school caretakers such as Ustadz Ahmad Baihaqi, Ustadz Khoirul Afif, and Ustadz Marzuki, participatory observation of student activities, and documentation studies of discipline programs. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of corporate management functions has succeeded in improving student discipline through four main strategies: (1) program planning based on measurable achievement targets including Al-Qur'an memorization standards and group division based on ability (Naqish, Mubtadi', Mutawasith), (2) organizing the coaching structure by involving caretakers and administrators in a 24-hour supervision system, (3) implementation of the tahfidz program that combines Al-Qur'an memorization with fashahah and tajwid coaching, and (4) a supervision system through periodic evaluation and the provision of educational sanctions. The obstacles faced include the lack of consistency of the students' time, the influence of a less than good circle of friends, and the students' different adaptability. The research findings contribute to the development of a modern Islamic boarding school management model that integrates corporate management principles with traditional Islamic boarding school values. This management model can be a reference for other tahfidz Islamic boarding schools in optimizing a more structured and measurable student development system in accordance with the challenges of the contemporary era.

Abstract

This study analyzes how the philanthropic organization Dompet Dhuafa cultivates audience sensitivity and empathy through its storytelling strategy in outreach, particularly in video content shared on social media. In the context of philanthropic outreach, storytelling serves as a communication approach that conveys not only informative but also emotional messages, effectively engaging the audience and fostering sustainable social participation. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through observations of video content, documentation of audience comments, and purposive interviews. The analysis utilizes persuasive communication theory and the concept of empathy in outreach communication to examine how narratives in videos influence audience perception and emotional responses. The findings indicate that storytelling featuring real-life beneficiary stories successfully evokes empathy and social awareness, as reflected in emotional comments, increased donation participation, and changes in religious behavior. The discussion underscores that storytelling is an effective outreach strategy for philanthropic organizations like Dompet Dhuafa, where touching and authentic narratives serve as both a communication tool and a means of outreach that reinforces Islamic values and fosters emotional connections between the organization and its audience.

Abstract

Abdurrahman Wahid, commonly known as Gus Dur, was an influential Indonesian religious figure and politician who served as president from 1999 to 2001. As a prominent leader of the Nadlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, Gus Dur's da’wah management reflects an inclusive, tolerant, and moderate approach to spreading Islam. A key aspect of his thought is the concept of inclusiveness, which embraces diverse understandings and cultural contexts in conveying Islamic teachings. This research employs qualitative library research, utilizing data from books, journals, and magazines relevant to the topic. Gus Dur emphasized the importance of adapting da’wah to the social and cultural contexts of different communities, advocating for flexibility while adhering to Islamic principles. His da’wah management promotes a tolerant, education-oriented approach, fostering an Islam that is friendly, open, and respectful of differences, while supporting democratic values and human rights. This philosophy significantly encourages interreligious dialogue, tolerance, and harmony among religious communities in Indonesia. The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Abdurrahman Wahid’s da’wah management, highlighting the planning of engaging religious materials and ideas.

Abstract

This study observes PruCinta, a sharia-based life insurance product offered by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in collaboration with Prudential Indonesia. The purpose is to understand the product's operational model, analyze its strengths and weaknesses, and identify its benefits for Muslim customers seeking ethical financial protection. The method used includes field observation at BSI KCP Kemanggisan, literature review, and interviews with staff. Findings indicate that PruCinta adheres to Islamic contracts such as Tabarru' and Wakalah bil Ujrah, ensuring ethical fund management and solidarity among participants. Key advantages include digital accessibility, premium flexibility, and professional fund management. However, challenges remain in public awareness and the cost structure compared to conventional insurance. This paper concludes that PruCinta is a strategic financial product that offers life protection with added spiritual value in accordance with Islamic principles.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of humanist da'wah in spiritual care services at Gunung Jati Regional Hospital Cirebon through the Islamic Spiritual Care Unit (Warois). The research focuses on three main aspects: managerial policy support for humanist da'wah, the role of spiritual counselors in applying an empathetic and non-dogmatic approach, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that humanist da'wah is reflected in empathetic communication, contextual spiritual motivation strategies, and structural support from hospital management. However, challenges remain, including limited personnel, patient resistance, and suboptimal cross-unit coordination. These findings highlight the importance of integrating humanist da'wah into health service systems grounded in spiritual and humanitarian values.

Abstract

The study explores the integration of dakwah principles into supervisory functions to enhance the quality of Hajj and Umrah services at PT Manajemen Qolbu Tauhiid Travel Jakarta. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted at the company, known for organizing religious pilgrimages under the guidance of KH Abdullah Gymnastiar's teachings from the Daarut Tauhiid foundation. Data were gathered through observations, in-depth interviews with staff and pilgrims, and analysis of internal documents. The results demonstrate that incorporating dakwah into supervision—such as requiring employees to attend regular Islamic studies, monitor daily worship through mutaba'ah yaumiyah, and instill values like 5S (smile, greet, address, polite, courteous) and 5AS (hard work, smart work, quality work, complete work, sincere work)—effectively boosts operational efficiency and ethical service delivery. This model not only surpasses pilgrims' expectations by providing premium accommodations, comprehensive guidance, and spiritual enrichment but also mitigates common challenges in the industry, including delays, substandard facilities, and misconduct. The integration fosters a work environment rooted in tauhid and morality, leading to higher pilgrim satisfaction and sustainable improvements. The study offers practical insights for other travel agencies to adopt dakwah-based oversight for superior, spiritually aligned services in the Hajj and Umrah sector.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of cultural dakwah based on the Mohlimo philosophy of Sunan Ampel as an approach to conveying Islamic values in harmony with Javanese cultural traditions. The Mohlimo principles—moh main, moh ngombe, moh maling, moh madat, and moh madon—represent moral teachings that emphasize ethics, self-control, and social responsibility relevant to contemporary character formation. Using a qualitative literature-based method, this research explores works on Javanese wisdom traditions, Mohlimo teachings, cultural dakwah, and current socio-cultural dynamics. The findings reveal that the implementation of Mohlimo in dakwah is carried out through culturally adaptive strategies that employ local language, symbols, and traditions, making the message more accessible to society. The moral values embedded in Mohlimo align with the principles of dakwah bil-hikmah and can be integrated into various contemporary dakwah media, including education, traditional arts, and digital platforms. Challenges arise from the declining understanding of Javanese culture among younger generations, the influence of global cultural flows, and the limited mastery of local wisdom among preachers. This study concludes that revitalizing Mohlimo values through cultural approaches constitutes an effective strategy for strengthening dakwah management in the modern era.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of code-of-ethics comprehension on the professional ethics of lecturers at the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication Sciences, Universitas PTIQ Jakarta. The research is grounded in the importance of ethical principles as the foundation of academic conduct, particularly within Islamic higher education institutions that emphasize Qur’anic values in organizational governance. A quantitative survey method was employed, using an online questionnaire distributed to 14 permanent and non-permanent lecturers. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to measure the relationship between code-of-ethics comprehension (variable X) and lecturers’ professional ethics (variable Y). The findings indicate that lecturers’ comprehension of the code of ethics is generally good, although some respondents are not yet familiar with the formal document in which the code is stipulated. Lecturers’ professional ethics—which include integrity, discipline, responsibility, and the implementation of the Tri Dharma—are categorized as very high. Regression analysis demonstrates that comprehension of the code of ethics has a positive and significant effect on lecturers’ professional ethics, as reflected in strong regression coefficients across teaching, research, and community service dimensions. These results highlight the importance of strengthening code-of-ethics socialization and internalizing Qur’anic ethical values to enhance lecturer professionalism and foster an ethical academic culture within the Faculty of Da’wah at Universitas PTIQ Jakarta.

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a holistic strategy crucial for enhancing service quality and organizational performance amidst strategic environmental shifts and digital transformation demands in both public and private sectors. This study critically analyzes the TQM implementation dynamics within Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) and public/private organizations in Indonesia, culminating in precise recommendations for refining Human Resource Management (HRM) practices. In IFIs, TQM is systematically interwoven with the foundational principles of Maqashid Syariah, serving as the ultimate customer-centric service benchmark and ensuring all internal processes are strictly aligned with ethical, spiritual, and social values. Digital innovations, particularly the Core Banking System (CBS) and integrated mobile banking platforms (e.g., BSI Mobile), function as TQM enablers by significantly boosting operational transparency (especially in contract disclosure) and process efficiency, directly improving customer satisfaction. Comprehensive cross-sector analysis (Gojek, BCA, BPJS Kesehatan) reveals that sustained quality integration is fundamentally dependent on three core factors: transformative strategic leadership that embeds a quality-first culture, rapid adaptation to disruptive digital technologies, and unwavering focus on operational excellence and customer orientation. The long-term rigidity and sustainability of TQM are predicated upon robust HRM. This requires value-based recruitment (value-fit), a comprehensive performance appraisal system that rigorously evaluates both process adherence and result achievement, and a systematically integrated reward mechanism to continuously reinforce the organizational quality culture. Utilizing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is essential for monitoring and ensuring quality integrity across all organizational facets.

Abstract

This study aims to recontextualize the classical sociological theories of Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Émile Durkheim within the framework of dakwah (Islamic propagation) to address the theoretical limitations often dominated by normative-theological approaches. The research focuses on three main questions: (1) the relevance of classical theories when applied to contemporary dakwah phenomena; (2) the reasons behind the epistemological gap in dakwah studies caused by the lack of critical analysis; and (3) the construction of a new conceptual framework through the synthesis of classical theory and dakwah praxis for advancing the religious social sciences. Using a conceptual research design and critical analytical approach, this study draws from primary sources such as the original works of Marx, Weber, and Durkheim, and secondary sources consisting of Scopus- and WoS-indexed journal articles from 2015–2024 discussing dakwah, Islamic communication, and classical sociology. The methodology integrates critical interpretation, comparative analysis, and framework synthesis to produce a comprehensive model. The findings demonstrate that Marx’s theory contextualizes dakwah as a domain of ideological struggle and class relations; Weber’s perspective elucidates authority, rationalization, and bureaucratization within dakwah institutions; and Durkheim’s approach highlights the role of dakwah in maintaining social solidarity and collective morality. The study concludes that the integration of these classical perspectives formulates Critical-Integrative Dakwah Studies, a new paradigm that views dakwah as both a religious and transformative social praxis. This epistemological synthesis expands the horizon of religious social sciences and promotes dialogue between Western and Islamic intellectual traditions.
