Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of natural and artificial laboratories as a strategy for strengthening language competencies in accordance with the demands of modern learning. Through library research and content analysis methods, the study reviewed literature on the characteristics and models of integration of the two laboratories. The results of the study indicate that in the context of Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools, natural laboratories play a role in providing contextual learning experiences through authentic environments such as dormitories, mosques, and students' daily activities, while artificial laboratories provide structured learning through technology-based simulations. Although its implementation still faces limitations in facilities and educator competence, this approach has strong potential to be developed as an Arabic language learning strategy that is relevant to the demands of today's learning in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study. Primary data sources refer to Abdul Mustaqim's thoughts on the Maqashidi Tafsir methodology and Qur'anic verses related to offspring ( hifdz al- nasl ), while secondary data are obtained from sociological, psychological, and demographic literature. The analysis is conducted thematically and content-wise using the ushul al- khamsah framework to assess the benefits and harms of the childfree option. The research findings show that, from the perspective of Maqashidi Tafsir, the childfree phenomenon cannot be judged in a black-and-white manner. Although Islam generally emphasizes hifdz al- nasl (protecting offspring), the principle of hifdz al- nafs (protecting the soul) can be a top priority if the presence of a child is predicted to cause medical or psychological harm (such as severe trauma/violence). The Maqashidi approach offers flexible yet responsible legal solutions by distinguishing between universal principles ( kulliyyat ) and individual cases ( juz'iyyat ).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of school values in enhancing a positive culture and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative analysis through observation, interviews, and documentation studies with correlation and regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that the success of the implementation of school values is influenced by three main aspects: value-based school governance, integration of values in the learning process, and role models and habits through the school environment. These findings confirm that the implementation of values cannot be effective without the support of a managerial system, teacher consistency, and active student participation. This article contributes to the development of a model for the implementation of school values that can be a reference for vocational schools in building a sustainable positive culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Direct Instruction model in improving student learning outcomes on the topic of Biotechnology among grade IX B students at MTsN 4 Jombang in the 2025 academic year. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted through two learning cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The participants were 30 male students. Data were collected through observation and achievement tests administered at each cycle. The findings revealed that the average student score increased from 69.71 in Cycle I to 87.43 in Cycle II, with the percentage of mastery learning rising from 69.71% to 81.88%. This improvement indicates that the Direct Instruction model effectively enhanced the quality of learning, particularly in strengthening students’ conceptual understanding of biotechnology. These results affirm that systematic and consistent application of Direct Instruction can serve as an effective pedagogical alternative for teachers seeking to optimize science learning outcomes at the junior high school level

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually examine the urgency of strengthening the foundations of student character in the era of artificial intelligence disruption. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods through critical analysis of scientific literature, educational policies, and technology ethics studies. The results show that student character formation in the AI era must be based on fundamental values such as moral responsibility, integrity, critical digital literacy, empathy, and ethical awareness in the use of technology. Character education cannot be positioned as a complementary element, but rather as a primary foundation that must be integrated into the curriculum, school culture, and technology-based learning practices.
