Abstract

Digitalization has rapidly expanded access to Qur'anic tahsin learning, yet existing scholarship often prioritizes technological adoption while giving limited attention to how religious authority, social interaction, and sacred meaning are negotiated in online environments. This study examines online tahsin at Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia, as a socio-pedagogical space where tradition, pedagogical authority, and digital mediation intersect within contemporary distance education. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-method design, the research began with a survey of 56 students from several Indonesian provinces in 2025, employing a five-point Likert scale to explore learning experiences, digital readiness, technical challenges, and perceptions of tutor feedback. This quantitative phase was followed by semi-structured interviews to deepen interpretation of the statistical findings. The results show that tutor authority is reconstructed in virtual settings through sustained corrective interaction, precise recitation guidance, and pedagogical practices that emphasize adab and ethical responsibility. These processes enhance recitation accuracy, affective engagement, and learner confidence, including dimensions of spiritual experience, despite structural constraints that continue to shape the quality of interaction.

Abstract

History education is often text-based and tends to fall short in connecting students with emotional and reflective experiences of the past. This study aims to explore various forms of art, such as novels, films, paintings, and songs, as media for history education that can foster active engagement and experiential learning among students. Through an interdisciplinary approach that maps the potential and functions of artistic works within the context of history education, this study highlights how art can serve as a powerful narrative medium to enrich critical understanding, empathy, and personal reflection on historical events in Indonesia. The research findings indicate that works of art have the capacity to serve as humanistic historical material, challenge dominant narratives, and foster a deeper connection between students and the past. This exploratory mapping provides a conceptual foundation for the development of innovative, student-centered history learning strategies that are more emotionally engaging, culturally relevant, and intellectually stimulating.

Abstract

Pancasila education in primary schools is pivotal for early character formation, yet teachers face limited digital teaching media, low learner engagement, and weak technology integration, especially in resource-constrained settings. This study aimed to identify pedagogical, content, and technical requirements for an Android-based application, GO-PANCASILA, for Grade-4 learners. Using a Research and Development approach, the study combined the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) with the Waterfall SDLC, focusing on the Define and Design phases as a needs analysis. Data were collected through literature review, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, then thematically analyzed and triangulated. Findings showed that teachers struggle to create contextual materials, choose relevant methods, and manage instructional time, while students prefer multimedia-based interactive learning. Key needs include engaging visual content, reflective quizzes, and integration of Pancasila values into daily experiences. These findings provide a foundation for developing GO-PANCASILA as an adaptive learning solution supporting character formation and civic literacy.
