Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the learning guidance provided by teachers to students at SD Negeri 27 Olo Ladang and to understand the role of learning guidance in the development of these students. In order to educate and shape future citizens according to expectations, basic education is implemented. The foundation of a nation’s progress is a high standard of education, and teachers play a vital role in helping children grow intellectually, skillfully, emotionally, morally, and spiritually. Various problems faced by students, especially in elementary schools, can disrupt their character and abilities. These issues include lack of motivation to learn, mental instability, bullying, difficulties in forming social bonds, and more. In elementary schools, guidance and counseling play an important role in helping children resolve these problems. Guidance and counseling aim to help clients develop their potential, understand themselves, and anticipate problems before they arise. However, due to teachers’ workload and the lack of specialized services for students, implementation has not been optimal. The researcher used a qualitative research approach with a case study method, employing interviews, observations, and documentation as instruments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the management of the guidance system at SDN 27 Olo Ladang, as well as to identify the factors influencing the effectiveness of its implementation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the management of the guidance system in elementary schools still faces various challenges, including unstructured planning, lack of standardized implementation guidelines, limited facilities and professional counseling personnel, infrequent program evaluation, and low parental involvement in the guidance process. The guidance programs tend to be reactive and are not designed based on students’ developmental needs. Based on these findings, improvements are needed in planning, teacher training, provision of supporting facilities, regular program evaluation, and strengthening parental involvement. Enhancing these aspects is expected to make the guidance system more effective in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of guidance and counseling services in elementary schools, with a specific focus on SDN 01 Ulak Karang. Using a literature review method supported by field observation conducted on January 10, 2025, the study investigates how guidance activities support students' academic, emotional, and social development. The findings reveal that the school provides structured guidance services through group sessions, individual counseling, and career awareness activities. Group guidance helps students develop social skills such as cooperation and conflict resolution, while individual counseling addresses emotional and personal issues faced by students. Despite being at the elementary level, the school has also initiated basic career guidance to help students recognize their interests and potentials. However, challenges remain, including limited professional counselors and the integration of guidance into the academic curriculum. The study concludes that guidance services play a vital role in supporting the holistic development of students and should be strengthened through institutional support and teacher training. These services are essential in shaping students’ character, academic readiness, and emotional resilience from an early age.

Abstract

Problematic behavior among elementary school students is a common issue in educational settings and can hinder students’ academic and social development. The management of problematic behavior requires approaches that are aligned with children’s developmental characteristics, one of which is the provision of guidance services in schools. This study aims to analyze the existing literature on the management of problematic behaviors among elementary school students through guidance services. The research employed a qualitative literature review method by identifying and analyzing various relevant scholarly sources, including books and national as well as international journal articles. The data were analyzed using content analysis with a thematic approach. The findings indicate that problematic behaviors in elementary school students are closely related to children’s social and emotional development. Guidance services play a crucial role in managing problematic behaviors through preventive and developmental approaches, as well as the implementation of guidance techniques such as group guidance, basic individual counseling, and psychoeducational activities. Furthermore, collaboration among teachers, counselors, and parents emerges as a key supporting factor for the successful management of student behavior. This study concludes that strengthening guidance services in a systematic and sustainable manner is essential for creating a conducive learning environment and supporting the development of positive behaviors among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a comprehensive literature-based framework on effective guidance programs for gifted and talented children in elementary schools. Through an in-depth literature review, this study identifies the characteristics of gifted and talented children, their specific needs, and various guidance approaches that have been implemented in educational settings. The findings indicate that effective guidance programs should be tailored to students’ individual potentials and interests and should incorporate multiple components, such as mentoring, the availability of learning resources, and a supportive learning environment. Gifted and talented children at the elementary school level demonstrate unique characteristics, including high cognitive abilities and creativity, which require specialized educational and guidance approaches. Furthermore, the roles of parents, teachers, and schools are crucial in creating an optimal environment that supports the growth and development of gifted and talented children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of individual and group guidance services in primary schools, as well as to identify the challenges and potential directions for their development. Individual guidance services focus on helping students address personal problems, enhance self-confidence, and improve learning motivation, whereas group guidance services aim to develop students’ social skills and cooperation. The method employed was a literature review using a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected from journal articles, books, and research reports and analyzed through content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that individual guidance is effective in assisting students in overcoming personal issues, while group guidance has a positive impact on social skills development. However, several challenges were identified, including limited training for classroom teachers, insufficient time allocated for guidance activities, and a lack of policies supporting the integration of guidance services into the primary education curriculum. From a theoretical perspective, gaps remain in integrating child development theories, such as those proposed by Piaget and Erikson, with holistic guidance practices. This study recommends the development of a more structured guidance service model that actively involves classroom teachers as key facilitators, supported by intensive training. Further research is needed to examine the effectiveness of this model across diverse contexts, including urban and rural settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Musabaqoh Hifdzil Qur’an (MHQ) cocurricular program in nurturing a Qur’anic generation at SMP Sabilul Muhtadin Karangasem Jenu. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study model through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of MHQ is systematically organized through memorization-level grouping, the application of the one day one ayat method, regular muroja’ah sessions, Fashoha practice, and periodic evaluations such as PTS and tasmi’. The program not only improves students’ abilities in reading, memorizing, and understanding the meaning of Qur’anic verses, but also shapes students into a more holistic Qur’anic generation. The integration of MHQ into daily religious routines at school further strengthens students’ spiritual, cognitive, and affective development. Overall, the study concludes that MHQ plays a significant role as an effective program for fostering comprehensive Qur’anic character in students and is suitable to be used as a model for Qur’an-based religious development in formal educational settings.
