Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of literature learning in enhancing students’ literary appreciation at SMP Negeri 4 Panca Rijang. The research involved a sample of 30 eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. A descriptive qualitative design was employed to examine how literature learning strategies—such as reading activities, guided discussions, and appreciation tasks—contributed to students’ understanding and emotional engagement with literary texts. Data were collected through classroom observations, student worksheets, and interviews, then analyzed through thematic coding. The findings indicate that the use of interactive literature learning methods significantly supports students’ ability to identify intrinsic elements, interpret meanings, and express personal responses to stories and poems. Furthermore, students demonstrated increased motivation and confidence in appreciating literary works after the implementation of structured learning steps. The study concludes that literature learning, when systematically planned and delivered, can effectively improve students’ literary appreciation at the junior secondary school level

Abstract

With the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based technology today, this development has become a positive opportunity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City. By utilizing AI, MSME actors can significantly reduce marketing costs when promoting their products. This study aims to analyze the implementation of MSME product promotion media using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an effort to enhance brand awareness in the digital 5.0 era. As of March 2025, there were 47,289 MSME actors recorded in Padang City, spread across 11 districts. Fundamentally, MSMEs are currently the largest contributors to the national economy. However, literacy and understanding of the use of emerging technologies remain limited among MSME actors. This condition is reinforced by data from 2014 to 2018, which shows that only 46.87% of MSMEs utilized promotional media and internet access. Furthermore, from 2019 to the end of 2021, nearly 90% of MSMEs experienced stagnation due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, specific research efforts and targeted actions are needed to examine the implementation of AI-based promotional media to improve the literacy and capabilities of MSME actors. This study employs a mixed-method research design (qualitative–quantitative) with a project-based approach. The research process began with the collection of primary and secondary data through in-depth interviews with 30 informants and the distribution of 476 questionnaires, supported by data from social media, online media, mass media, and other relevant sources. This research integrates interdisciplinary expertise (communication studies, social sciences, and economics) to address the identified problems, resulting in findings that describe MSME needs and implement effective strategies for promoting MSME products, as well as providing policy recommendations and practical suggestions for relevant stakeholders. The expected outcome of this research is one mandatory output in the form of a National Journal indexed in SINTA 1–4, aligned with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 1, with a final target of TRL 3.

Abstract

The D’Shafa Women Farmers Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT D’Shafa) is a community-based self-help organization that has developed since its establishment in 2018 in RW 05, Malakasari Urban Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. Through various urban farming activities, the group focuses on food security and women’s empowerment within the local community. This study aims to describe the developmental stages of KWT D’Shafa using Katz’s organizational development theory (as cited in Adams, 2003), as well as to identify the internal and external factors that support its sustainability. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving the group’s leaders, administrators, members, and external partners. The findings show that KWT D’Shafa has gone through five developmental stages according to Katz, including origins, informal organization, emergence of leadership, beginning of formal organization, and progressing toward the stage of appointing paid staff and professional workers. However, the group has not fully reached the final stage, as it does not yet employ paid staff, and professionalization efforts still rely on voluntary collaboration with external experts. These findings indicate that the sustainability of KWT D’Shafa is supported by internal factors such as social interaction, participatory leadership, and member commitment, as well as external factors including government assistance and private-sector partnerships, which together enable the group to continue growing as a self-help organization in an urban environment.

Abstract

This study examines the underlying mechanisms that shape faculty talent management within contrasting higher-education environments in Indonesia. Through a multi–case analysis of a private and a public university, the research identifies five key structural drivers, system formalization, development infrastructure, performance philosophy, career mobility pathways, and identity alignment, that influence faculty motivation, engagement, and retention. The findings reveal that private institutions benefit from highly formalized and resource-rich systems that enhance clarity, capability-building, and accountability, yet may create heightened workload pressure. Conversely, public institutions offer greater autonomy but face challenges related to ambiguity, limited developmental support, fragmented performance evaluation, and constrained career progression. Drawing on these insights, the study proposes an integrated, theory-driven model consisting of four strategic pillars: the Faculty Role Clarity Framework, the Faculty Development Architecture, the Balanced Performance and Recognition Model, and the Faculty Career Mobility & Identity Alignment Framework. Accompanied by empirically justified implementation plans, this model offers a practical roadmap for strengthening faculty experiences across diverse institutional contexts. The study concludes that aligning structural systems with faculty psychological needs and professional identities is essential for fostering sustainable academic excellence and institutional competitiveness in Indonesian higher education.
