Abstract

This research aims at finding out whether or not the use of movie is effective in enhancing the vocabulary achievement and finding out the students’ interest toward the use of movie. The research employs a pre-experimental research method. The population of this research is all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Panca Rijang in academic year 2017/2018. The samples consist of 20 students was taken based on random sampling technique. The research data are collected using vocabulary test which is analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The research result indicates that the use of movie is more effective in enhancing vocabulary achievement of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Rappang in academic year 2017/2018. The students’ result of posttest is higher than the students’ result of pretest (80 > 70. 625). The difference of those mean score is statistically significant; it is based on t-test value at significant level 0.05, the t- table is lower than t- test (2. 093 < 3. 54).

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study involves the experimental and control group which consist of 60 students in first year of SMA Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang 2019/2020 academic year. The reading test is used to collect data to find out do the students can achieve significant result in reading test using Text-based Character. Based on the result the mean score of the experimental group pre-test was 72.67 and classified into good classification, while the control group was 69.63 classified into good. The mean score of the post-test after treatment for the experimental group was 82.43 (very good) while the control group was 76.53, (good) classification still. The researcher found that the T-table is higher than the t-test (α) (1.659<2.021). It means that there is a significant difference in the pre-test of the control and experimental group, while in post-test of an experimental and control group, the researcher finds that the T-test is higher than the alpha and previous score in the the pre-test (α) (3.089>2.021). The degree of freedom is 58. This study reveals that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. This is means that the use of Text-based Characters can improves students' reading skills in significant way.

Abstract

The problems surrounding character or morals that occur today are much more numerous and more complex than the character problems that occurred in previous times. The problem of character is a matter of thought as well as a common concern because this country can be considered a character crisis. Almost all the time, the media is filled with news of increasing promiscuity, rampant rates of violence against children and adolescents, drugs, theft, and deprivation have become social problems that have not been resolved completely. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to reveal and explain the orientation of character education in learning reading skills with the philosophy of religion and Pancasila. In this discussion, the problems, relationships, and proper strategies for implementing character in education will be revealed.

Abstract

The objectives of the article were to find out: (1) To find out whether or not phonetic symbols increase pronunciation ability at the second semester students of University of Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. (2) To find out whether or not the students interested in the use of phonetic symbols in learning pronunciation at the second semester students of University of Muhammadiy ah SidenrengRappang. The researcher applied quasi experimental method using two groups namely an experimental and a control group. Both of groups were given pretest and posttest. The article was conducted at English Department of University of Muhammadiyah Rappang academic year 2019/2020. The researcher applied cluster sampling technique and the second semester is taken as the sample of the research with total numbers 22 students. This article was divided the number of sampling into to group namely Group A and B, where the group A and B consisted 11 students. The students’ result obtained and stated in the research, the researcher used t-test in inferential statistic through SPSS 21.0 program for Windows evaluation version to test the hypothesis. In pre-test, the researcher found that the t-test value was lower than the t-table (0.487 < 2.021). While in relation to the finding of post-test, the t-test value was higher than the t-table (3.948> 2.086). The result of the findings also showed that the students had high interest on the application of Phonetics Symbol materials in English pronunciation. It was proved by the mean score of the questionnaire was 85.91 which was classified into strongly interested category.

Abstract

This research aimed at proving that active learning strategy can improve the speaking skill of the year eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Sidrap. The researcher used pre-experimental design. The population of this research was the eighth grade students and the sample was class B consisting of 26 students. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through oral test. The pre-test and the post-test were used to measure the improvement of the students‟ speaking skill before and after the treatment. Based on the result of the pre-test and the post-test, it is obtained that the t-counted value is 6.920. By applying 0.05 level of significance and the 25 (26-1) degree of freedom, it was found that t-table value is 2.060. It shows that the t-counted value is greater than the t-table value. It means that the use of active learning strategy can improve speaking skill of the year eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Sidrap.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan Google Classroom terhadap hasil belajar PKn siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid tahun pelajaran 2021. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua variabel yaitu penggunaan media pembelajaran Google Classroom dan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran PKn. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode pre-experimental. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid yang berjumlah 13 orang siswa. Sampel ditarik secara keseluruhan atau menggunakan sampel jenuh. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan tes uraian sebanyak 10 nomor. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes, dokumentasi dan kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest lebih tinggi yaitu 80 sedangkan hasil pretest yaitu 60, adapun hasil persentase keseluruhan siswa yang memenuhi standar KKM yaitu 92,3%, atau dari 13 orang siswa, 12 orang yang mendapatkan nilai di atas 70 KKM. Indikator efektivitas pada penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori Slavin dalam (Afriliani, 2019). Terdapat empat indikator yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur keefektifan pembelajaran yaitu; kualitas pembelajaran, tingkat pembelajaran yang sesuai, intensif, dan waktu. Setelah mengumpulkan data, peneliti menganalisa dan menemukan bahwa semua indikator efektivitas telah terlaksana dan dicapai dalam penelitian serta memberikan efek kepada penggunaan Google Classroom terhadap hasil belajar PKn siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah Pangsid. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran berbasis Google Classroom efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Dengan demikian peneliti menyarankan kepada pihak sekolah hendaknya memberikan dukungan pada penggunaan metode pembelajaran berbasis Google Classroom dalam proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data dan informasi yang lengkap tentang kemampuan menganalisis unsur intrinsik puisi “Kesabaran” karya Chairil Anwar siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Pinrang Kecematan Tiroang Kabupaten Pinrang. Pada tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Pinrang yang berjumlah 128 siswa yang tersebar pada 4 kelas. Mencermati jumlah populasi yang cukup besar maka penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan sebesar 25% dari jumlah populasi atau sebanyak 32 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik dokumentasi dan teknik tes. Data tes diolah dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dengan rumus persentase (%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa siswa yang memperoleh nilai 75 ke atas sebanyak 28 siswa (87,5%) dan siswa yang memperoleh nilai kurang dari 75 sebanyak 4 siswa (12.5%). Dengan demikian siswa yang mendapat nlai 100 (9,375%) sebanyak 4 orang, nilai 90 (3,125%) sebanyak 1 orang, nilai 85 (21,875%) sebanyak 7 orang, nilai 80 (15,625%) sebanyak 5 orang, nilai 75 (37,5%) sebanyak 12 orang, nilai 65 (9,375%) sebanyak 3 orang dan nilai 35 (3,125%) sebanyak 1 orang Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Pinrang Kecamatan Tiroang Kabupaten Pinrang telah mampu menganalisis unsur intrinsik puisi ‘kesabaran’ karya chairil Anwar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Baranti Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII SMP Negreri 1 Baranti Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, yakni 71 siswa yang tersebar pada 3 kelas. Sampel ditarik sebanayak dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII.2 dengan jumlah 22 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII.3 dengan jumlah 24 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Data diperoleh dari instrumen tes, kemudian diperoleh dengan menggunakan rumus rata- rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match lebih tinggi dari pada kelompok kontrol yang tidak diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match yakni Mx = 92,72 > My = 80,62. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match lebih baik dari pada siswa yang tidak diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Baranti Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang. Dengan demikian diharapkan kepada guru-guru hendaknya memaksimalkan penggunaan metode-metode pembelajaran seperti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dalam proses belajar mengajar, dan dalam proses belajar mengajar yang menitik beratkan pada metode ceramah hendaknya memberikan variasi dengan metode lain termasuk penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match.

Abstract

Analisis Kesantunan Berbahasa dalam Novel ‘Pulang’ Karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat dalam novel pulang karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini berdasar pada prinsip kesantunan Leech yang terdiri atas maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim penghargaan, maksim kesederhanaan, maksim permufakatan, dan maksim kesimpatian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan tokoh dalam novel Pulang karya Tere Liye. Sumber data penelitian ini ialah novel “Pulang karya Tere Liye, yang terdiri atas 400 halaman yang diterbitkan oleh Republika penerbit. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah reduksi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 40 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim kebijaksanaan, terdapat 17 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim kedermawanan, terdapat 90 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim penghargaan, terdapat 41 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim kesederhanaan, terdapat 54 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim permufakatan, dan terdapat 155 tuturan yang mematuhi maksim kesimpatian

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of ethical speaking of the elemntary school age children in grade V and found the factors cause the less ethical language at primary school age children in grade 5 SD Watang Sidenreng. This study used qualitative descriptive approach. The sources of data obtained from the fifth grade students SD Negeri 5 Watang Sidenreng totaling 28 students. Data obtained by participant observation, in-depth interviews, the study documents, then treated with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that a form of ethical language in class V can be analyzed in terms of words, sentences, phrases, intonation elements (suprasegmental), and kinesic elements. The factors determining the level of ethical or less ethical levels depend on several factors, namely (1) smooth rough words. (2) a short length utterance. (3) the order of the utterance. (4) intonation (suprasegmentl), and kinesic cues. (5) the use of the pharase marker. While the factors that lead to unethical language in class V, namely (1) friends direct criticize the harsh words, (2) being the most correct opinion, (3) intentionaly accuse opponents utterance, (4) intentionally criticize the opponent utterance, (5) intentionaly embarrass oppenents utterance, (6) giving bad names, (7) brag or boast, (8) being happy if friends misfortune, (9) using derect speech, and (10) has become a bad habit.
