Abstract

Tebet District, South Jakarta has been the location of several incidents of juvenile brawls recorded in recent years. There was a clash between two groups of teenagers on Jalan Dr. Saharjo Tebet in 2019 which caused traffic jam due to stone throwing at each other. The objectives of this study are 1) to analyze the spatial pattern of adolescent brawls from 2019 to 2023; 2) to identify factors that affect changes in the pattern of adolescent brawls in Tebet District. The method used is Nearest Neighbor Analysis by utilizing the Geographic Information System. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that there are 2 main roads, namely Jalan KH. Abdullah Syafei and Jalan Dr. Saharjo which is the location where teenage brawls often occur. Over the last 5 years, the distribution pattern of brawl points has shown a random pattern. The factors that affect the change in the spatial pattern of the location of juvenile brawls are the increase in security patrols and the perpetrators are teenagers from other villages. The analysis shows that each year does not experience a very different shift.

Abstract

Waste problems are one of the major problems in Indonesia, as is the case with Somba Opu Sub-district, Gowa Regency, which is inseparable from waste problems. Mapping the distribution of garbage dump using Geographic Information Systems is a solution to overcome this problem. The objectives of the study were to determine the distribution of garbage dump locations in Somba Opu Sub-district, analyze the suitability of land used as garbage dump land, and identify the community environmental impacts caused by the presence of garbage dump. The method used is Mixed Method Explanatory Sequantial Design. The results of the research on the distribution of garbage dump locations in Somba Opu Sub-district were 23 points. Analysis of data processing results through the Average Nearest Neighbor method is a uniform pattern (dispersed) 1.464325. The results of overlaying the distance to rivers, roads, and settlements there is a classification of land suitability of garbage dump Somba Opu District, namely; 6 (26,1%) locations are not suitable, 10 (43,5%) locations are less suitable, 3 (13,0%) locations are suitable, and 4 (17,4%) locations are very suitable. The responses of people living within a 500 meters radius of the garbage dump indicate that waste management has positive and negative impacts on health, the environment, and social and economic life.

Abstract

Indonesia’s status as a tropical country makes it rich in biodiversity, so that botanical gardens in addition to being used as tourist attractions, also function in the field of education. This study aims to determine and analyze the physical condition and eligibiltion of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden as a source of environmental learning and to determine and analyze the feasibility of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden as a source of environmental learning. The research method used is the mixed method. The data analysis technique uses a Likert scale and SWOT qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that, the physical condition of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden contains several infrastructures, namely: gates, management offices, mosques and toilets, hotmix roads and boulevards, gicok roads, concrete roads, reservoirs, and gazebos. Environmental elements have an average percentage of 78.38%, infrastructure or facilities of 71%, accessibility/affordability of 82.67%. The three percentages of these indicators are 77.38%, meaning that the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden is included in the category of being feasible as a source of environmental learning.. The Botanical Garden has great potential as a tourist and educational destination, but is hampered by several weaknesses such as lack of maintenance and funding. Therefore, it is necessary to implement strategies to improve the quality and attractiveness of the Botanical Gardens, such as improving maintenance and provision, and developing information system technology.

Abstract

Climate change, driven by global warming, has triggered the occurrence of El Niño and La Niña phenomena and prolonged rainy and dry seasons. These changes have significantly impacted farmers, fishers, and human activities across various sectors. According to research findings, annual air temperature has shown variability, ranging from moderate to very good categories. However, in 2021, a notable decline was recorded, with temperatures categorized as very poor. In contrast, annual humidity levels generally remained within the moderate to very good range, except in 2020 when humidity was categorized as very poor, despite temperature conditions that year being moderate for 8 months and very good for 4 months. Wind speed from 2019 to 2023 consistently showed a very good trend. Based on the comparison between the average number of dry and wet months, the climate typeaccording to the Schmidt-Ferguson classification—shifted from type C to B, then B to B, B to A, and finally A to C, resulting in a climate sequence of C–B–B–A–C over the observed period. Interestingly, these climate changes have not had a significant impact on the income levels of paddy farmers in Baruga Village. This resilience is largely due to the village's geographical features, which include surrounding mountains and hills as well as the flow of the Konawe River, all of which contribute to a stable water supply and support sustainable agricultural productivity.
