Abstract

This study aims to analyze adaptive learning strategies for early childhood learners with visual learning styles through a single case study conducted at TK Dharma Wanita I Jember. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that visual strategies, such as the use of images, colors, and videos, effectively support children’s understanding of learning materials in accordance with their learning styles. These strategies may serve as a reference for designing adaptive learning practices in early childhood education. The novelty of this study lies in the contextual identification of adaptive learning strategies specifically designed for early childhood learners with visual learning styles. The results support responsive learning strategies that are aligned with the differentiation approach promoted in the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using the Magic Book educational teaching aid (APE) on the fine motor development of children aged 4–5 years. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically a One Group Pretest–Posttest design involving a single group as the research subject. Research that specifically examines the effect of the Magic Book on fine motor skills among children aged 4–5 years is still limited, even though this age range is a critical period for supporting children’s readiness for formal learning activities. The results indicate a significant effect of the use of the Magic Book APE on children’s fine motor skills, as shown by an increase in the pretest mean score (10.60) to the posttest mean score (13.33). The t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000, which is below 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference. Therefore, the Magic Book APE is proven to have a positive effect on the fine motor development of children aged 4–5 years.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the expository strategy in teaching the Five Pillars of Islam at KB Muslimat NU Dologan Blora and to analyze the improvement in early childhood understanding following its implementation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects consisting of Group B children aged 3–4 years. The findings show that the application of the expository strategy significantly enhanced children's understanding. Children who previously could not recite the Five Pillars of Islam in sequence began to comprehend both the order and the meaning of each pillar. They were also able to connect the material with their daily experiences, such as performing prayer, fasting, or giving alms. In addition, the children appeared more confident, active, and enthusiastic when engaging in simple practices such as prayer movements and ablution. This study provides practical implications for early childhood educators, demonstrating that the expository strategy can serve as a simple yet effective approach to teaching religious concepts in a structured, concrete manner that aligns with children's developmental stages. Further implications encourage the development of more varied learning media to optimize children's comprehension.
