Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Market Day activities in improving early childhood numeracy skills. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with 30 Group B students at TK Panti Asih Banjarejo as the subjects. The findings indicate an improvement across all indicators, as reflected in the increasing number of children who were able to apply simple operations, count money accurately, differentiate product prices, and demonstrate greater independence and more mature communication skills. Market Day provided an authentic learning experience that strengthened numeracy concepts while simultaneously fostering children's social–emotional development. The study recommends implementing Market Day on an ongoing basis, accompanied by evaluations of numeracy development as a contextual learning strategy. Practically, teachers can utilize simulation-based transaction activities to build more meaningful numerical understanding; Theoretically, these findings support constructivist learning approaches in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the use of Kapla media fosters geometric understanding and imagination among Group A children at RA Muslimat XVII Keser Blora. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that Kapla media helps children recognize geometric shapes, differentiate sizes, and gradually construct patterns. Children who initially experienced difficulties became able to classify shapes, build simple patterns, and reconstruct collapsed structures with greater patience. Children’s imagination also developed through the courage to create new forms, modify constructions, and creatively express ideas. The learning atmosphere became more dynamic as children showed increased enthusiasm, active interaction, and collaboration within groups. These findings suggest that Kapla media is effective in enhancing early childhood geometric understanding, creativity, and imagination, and they provide practical implications for teachers to integrate constructive play as an enjoyable and meaningful learning strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ creativity strategies in using songs and movement as learning media to enhance children’s engagement. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving two Group B classroom teachers and 20 children aged 5–6 years. The findings indicate that teachers engaged in careful planning by selecting songs aligned with weekly themes, modifying lyrics to enrich vocabulary, and creating simple movements that were easy to follow. As a result, children’s engagement increased from 60% in the first session to 85% in the third session. The challenges encountered included limited song references, inadequate musical facilities, and differences in children’s motor abilities; these were addressed through tempo variation, repetition, and the use of body sounds. This study contributes to the enrichment of the literature on early childhood education teachers’ strategies in creating creative and varied learning experiences and may serve as a reference for developing music- and movement-based instructional methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the introduction of values of goodness through the management of a movement- and song-based Asmaul Husna program at RA Bani Malik Ledug. This research employed a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data display, and verification. The results show that the planning stage of the movement- and song-based Asmaul Husna program was designed so that within one week, children memorize three names of Allah until completing all 99 names. The organizing stage involved the principal conveying the established plan to teachers and parents, including the number of Asmaul Husna to be memorized by children each week. The implementation stage indicates that the program is conducted daily before formal learning activities begin, specifically during the time allocated for Islamic learning. In the controlling stage, the principal evaluates the implementation outcomes of the program and identifies both inhibiting and supporting factors influencing its execution.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of daily prayer memorization habituation methods, teachers’ strategies, the role of parents, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors at TKIT Al-Qudwah Musirawas. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with triangulation techniques through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, teachers, parents, and children aged 5–6 years. The findings indicate that prayer habituation is implemented in a structured manner through teachers’ role modeling, daily routines, murojaah (repetition), and the integration of Islamic thematic learning. Supporting facilities such as guidebooks, mutaba’ah records, and visual media strengthen the learning process. Supporting factors include teachers’ commitment and a religious school culture, while the main inhibiting factor is the lack of parental involvement at home. The habituation of daily prayers is effective in fostering children’s discipline, independence, and spiritual awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the Hafiz Doll as a supporting medium for introducing the memorization of short prayers to children aged 1–3 years within the family environment. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving one child aged 2.5 years with parents serving as the primary facilitators. The findings indicate that the use of the Hafiz Doll elicited initial child responses, including more focused attention, positive emotional engagement, and simple verbal repetition of prayer sounds. These results suggest that doll-based media incorporating audio and visual stimulation can function as a supportive tool for habituating prayer practices at the early stages of child development. The contribution of this study lies in providing an empirical portrayal of the use of interactive religious media in the context of spiritual learning for children aged 1–3 years in the home setting, with particular emphasis on the role of parental guidance and the contextual limitations of the study.

Abstract

Rewards as a motivational strategy can enhance children’s enthusiasm for learning, strengthen intrinsic motivation, and foster positive behavior. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, examining behaviorist, humanistic, social cognitive, and self-determination theories to understand the relationship between rewards and learning motivation. The analysis uses content analysis to identify key themes and develop a conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that rewards not only function as positive reinforcement that encourages children’s engagement and participation in learning activities but also have the potential to cultivate intrinsic motivation when applied judiciously. Drawing on behaviorist, humanistic, social cognitive, and self-determination theories, appropriately administered rewards can promote prosocial behavior, support the fulfillment of children’s psychological needs such as autonomy and competence, and create a positive and conducive learning environment.
