Jurnal Demi Pengabdian Masyarakat merupakan jurnal khusus yang berfokus pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, baik kegiatan di lapangan. Jurnal ini dibuat dalam rangka mendukung dan memfasilitasi pengembangan kreatif kognisi keilmuan, dosen, dan mahasiswa yang bersifat linier keilmuan. Dengan demikian, bidang keilmuan yang ada dapat dikembangkan sesuai dengan hasil kajian teori dan hasil multidisiplin pengabdian masyarakat. Dari sisi keilmuan dan praktik di lapangan, terdapat kemungkinan terjadinya transisi keilmuan yang dapat dilihat dari berbagai sudut pandang keilmuan dibandingkan dengan ilmu keolahragaan. Dengan demikian akan semakin memperluas cakupan multidisiplin ilmu, sehingga semakin mengembangkan berbagai aspek ilmu pengetahuan. Diharapkan dapat bermanfaat. Jurnal Demi Pengabdian Masyarakat diterbitkan setahun 4x yaitu Bulan Februari, Mei, September, dan Desember.

Abstract

The community service program aims to provide technical assistance in the preparation of architectural planning and design document for a Catholic church that is efficient and based on local resource utilization. The activity was conducted at Santa Maria Mater Dei, Amfoang Timur District, Kupang Regency, which faces challenges related to limited building capacity and the deterioration of physical conditions due to aging structures. In addition, the lack of architectural expertise and limited construction funding have become major constraints in developing adequate and representative worship facilities. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including field surveys, identification of technical reuirements and congregation need, development of architectural design concepts, creation of design models or prototypes, and participatory discussions with parish authorities and the local community. The approach applied was participatory and contextual, efficiency without compromising spatial quality and comport. The outputs of this progras include architectural planning and design documents three dimensional design visualizations, and technical recommendations to support the construction phase. The program is expected to produce a chrusch design that is functional, aesthetic, and sustainable, while accommodating the needs of the congregation in the long term. Furthermore, community involvement in the planning process is anticipated to strengthen the sense of ownership and support the social and economic sustainability of the development.

Abstract

Community service activities is a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which aims to support the improvement of the quality of education in the community. One of the activities carried out is mentoring Indonesian language learning through writing Observation Report Texts (TLHO) for students in grades IV and V of MIM Nurul Islam Tajinan. This activity aims to improve students' understanding and skills in compiling TLHOs by utilizing the school environment as a learning resource. The methods used include interactive lectures, direct observation, practice, and writing assistance. The implementation of the activity begins with providing material regarding the definition, purpose, structure, and steps for compiling TLHOs. Next, students conduct observations of the school environment to collect data which is then used as material for compiling observation reports. The results of the activity show that students have high enthusiasm during the learning process, actively make observations, and are able to compile observation report texts based on the data obtained. Utilizing the school environment as a learning medium provides a more contextual learning experience, thus helping students understand the material more easily and meaningfully. This mentoring activity shows that environment-based learning can be an effective alternative in improving elementary school students' writing skills, especially in compiling Observation Report Texts.

Abstract

Limited access to information about higher education, the need to strengthen practice-based learning, and the importance of preserving religious traditions were identified as several challenges in Sumbersuko Village, Tajinan District, Malang Regency. These conditions encouraged the implementation of the Community Service program, which aimed to develop literacy, practical skills, and socio-religious participation within the community. The methods employed included interactive lectures, group discussions, demonstrations or practical activities, and continuous mentoring. The program involved fourth- and fifth-grade students of MI Nurul Islam Tajinan and the residents of Sumbersuko Village. Activities included school environment observation and short story writing, mung bean sprout cultivation integrated with procedural text learning, higher education socialization through the New Student Admission (PMB) program, and education on preserving religious traditions through the takbir parade. The results showed improvements in students’ observation skills, report writing, creative writing abilities, and understanding of procedural texts through practical learning activities. Community members also gained broader knowledge about higher education and demonstrated active participation in preserving religious traditions. The program indicates that the utilization of local potential through educational, training, and outreach activities can contribute to improving human resource quality and strengthening socio-religious values within the community. In conclusion, the PMBP program had a positive impact on literacy development, practical skill enhancement, educational awareness, and socio-religious participation in Sumbersuko Village.
