Abstract

The rise of cosmetics labeled as halal among women has sparked the birth of several new problems. Because there are many types of cosmetics, there are cosmetics with waterproof types that can prevent water from entering human skin. The purpose of this study is first, to review the validity of ablution for active users of waterproof cosmetics by using hadith as a reference source, secondly to determine the impact of using waterproof cosmetics, as well as solutions for Muslim women to look beautiful without eliminating the perfection of ablution practice as a condition for the validity of prayer. This qualitative descriptive research uses historical and linguistic approaches to reveal the proportional content of a hadith. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of the primary hadith contains a warning and punishment from hell for someone negligent in performing ablution. Someone's prayer is in vain because water-resistant ablution cosmetics indicate the presence of chemicals that can block water from entering the skin. In addition, ablution is the primary solution for women to look naturally beautiful without doubting the validity and risk of skin disease due to prolonged use of cosmetics.

Abstract

The division of tasks between husband and wife could be more balanced. Wives who work in the public sector still have a double burden with household chores that are still assigned to them. This article aims to describe how the division of labor between men and women in Curah Leduk Hamlet and how the structured process of helping husbands work in the coffee plantations by women in Curah Leduk Hamlet is a fulfillment of their daily family needs from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu. Research on the structured process of helping husbands to work in coffee plantations for women in Curah Leduk Hamlet as a fulfillment of their daily family needs uses a naturalistic interpretive paradigm. Therefore, the research approach uses qualitative methods with this type of field research. The results of this study show that women in Curah Leduk Hamlet, in practice, still do domestic work but also help men work in the public sector. In view Pierre Bourdieu, this is because the socialization of the rural environment, such as the obligation of women to obey their husbands, the duties of being in the domestic space or taking care of the household and caring for children, are still carried out by women even when they become a wife. That is what forms this tradition to date.

Abstract

Iran's 1989 constitution expressly states that the state guarantees equal protection for the rights of its citizens (both male and female) before the law. Nevertheless, in practice, the policy products issued still show the patriarchal nature of Islam. As a result, the position of Iranian women is often at a disadvantage. On the other hand, the concept of universalism began campaigning by the United Nations to eliminate gender-based discrimination in various worlds, including Muslim countries. This article seeks to see the extent of the problems faced by Iranian women in realising equal rights following the mandate of the 1989 constitution and international human rights instruments. The method used is a qualitative method with a literature study. The findings in this article show that the struggle of Iranian women to promote civil rights as equal citizens often lead to arrest, intimidation, even the worst to the point of being killed by state security forces, as experienced by Mahsa Amini.

Abstract

Moderate Islam usually only understood as a counter narrative to radical Islamic movements or conservative Islam such as acts of radicalism, terrorism, and intolerance. Moderate Islam also has an important role in the liberation and empowerment of women. This can be seen in the NU and Muhammadiyah mass organizations as the two main currents of moderate Islam in Indonesia.  Therefore, this study will examine the values or spirit contained in moderate Islam in Indonesia, especially the NU and Muhammadiyah mass organizations as the main drivers of moderate Islam in Indonesia and its urgency for the movement of women's liberation and empowerment. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research with a literature study method. The results showed that Islamic organizations Nahdlatul 'Ulama and Muhammadiyah use contextual interpretation in understanding religious texts. This then gave rise to various women's organizations such as Muslimat or 'Aisyiyah and gender activists who participated in fighting for women's rights through movements, studies, and workshops. The expected conclusion shows that moderate Islamic values with their contextual interpretation are closely related to the spirit of maqashid sharia which is none other than in accordance with the principles of Human Rights (HAM) so as to support gender equality.

Abstract

Islamic law still gives a portion of reason to man, therefore man still has to establish laws based on the Qur'an and Hadith on problems that do not exist Nas and the law clearly. It is these interpretations that are the root of dissent among scholars. One of the important themes in the study of Islamic family law is the adultery of children. The scholars agree that the adulterous child's nasab is cut off from the man and is only connected to the mother's path, but so the scholars are sincere in the matter of determining the adulterous child's nasab by the biological father through the ilhaq (confession of the child). According to Abu Zahrah, adulterous children do not have a sexual relationship with a man as a biological father. But an adulterous child can be recognized as a biological father through the ilḥāq method, provided that the biological father does not explicitly suggest that the child he recognizes is the result of adultery. The consequence is a relationship of mutual support, inheritance relations, guardian relationships and other laws.

Abstract

This article deals with gender perspectives in Islamic family law. Nowadays related to gender talk is familiar to hear, even gender inequality has occurred a lot. People assume that gender dimilarity can cause various forms of inequality, such as the unimportance of roles related to political policies, women are only in the three R's, namely kitchen, well, mattress. This paper seeks to discuss the gender approach in Islamic family law from the aspects of reproduction, inheritance and iddah/ihdad. The author concludes that socio-historically the Qur'an was revealed in a culture that was very discriminatory against women, this is a patriarchal phenomenon that occurred in the old ignorant era. Currently, gender injustice has transformed from the ignorant era to the Islamic era, that women have obtained their rights as women, where in the past women were only underestimated and patriarchal culture reigned.
