Abstract

The concept of Tafaqquh Fī al-Dīn holds significant importance in Islamic education, emphasizing a deep understanding of religion that is applicable to everyday life. Islamic boarding schools pesantren play a crucial role in applying this concept, yet face major challenges in balancing tradition with modern demands. This study investigates the implementation of Tafaqquh Fī al-Dīn at Pesantren Persatuan Islam 27 Situaksan, Bandung, focusing on the understanding of the asatidz (teachers), its application within the school, student responses, challenges encountered, and its impact on the formation of Islamic character and knowledge. Previous research (Hefner, 2009; Steenbrink, 1986) highlights the dilemma faced by pesantren in maintaining tradition while embracing modern innovations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, with interviews, observation, and document analysis, this study reveals that while the asatidz understand Tafaqquh Fī al-Dīn, its implementation is hindered by institutional factors, limited infrastructure, and lack of skilled human resources, aligning with Ahmad’s (2017) findings on educational modernization. Although students respond positively, time and physical limitations pose challenges. To sustain relevance in the modern era, further innovations are necessary, as proposed by Azra (2015) in his study on the transformation of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, and supervision of Human Resource Management (HRM) at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa, Gowa Regency. A qualitative approach with phenomenological methods is used to collect data through interviews, observations, and documentation from related parties. The results of the study show that MSDM planning involves several stages, such as recruitment through meetings, distribution of pamphlets, file collection, interviews, probationary periods, and announcements. The selection is carried out in two stages: administration and interview. Orientation lasts from a probationary period to basic and advanced training for six months. The placement of educators is adjusted to their expertise in teaching, communicating, mastering technology, and management. Training and development are divided into general and religious training. The implementation of MSDM in this school runs systematically and structured, especially in recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, as well as training and development of educators. Supervision is carried out by school principals, directors, education offices, and international supervisors (intertek). The implication of this study is the importance of more attention from the foundation, especially on continuous professional training and development, to improve competence and innovation in teaching methods. Thus, educators can increase competence, job satisfaction, and better career development opportunities

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of technology on akidah akhlak(Islamic theology and morality) instruction in Islamic schools. The background of this research lies in the increasing use of technology in education and its potential to improve both student engagement and understanding of religious values. The study aims to explore how interactive applications like Quizizz can enhance the teaching and learning process in akidah akhlak classes, as well as identify the challenges faced in technology implementation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The findings show that the use of technology significantly improves student motivation and understanding, making the learning process more interactive and engaging. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and the readiness of both students and teachers to adopt technology were also noted. These challenges highlight the need for strategic planning and investment in infrastructure and teacher training to fully realize the potential of technology in akidah akhlak instruction.

Abstract

This study explores the application of the STAR Method in teaching English at PAUD Nurnaima Kota Bandung using a qualitative approach and a case study design. Over two months, the research involved two lecturers and five students, collecting data from two PAUD Tutors and the Head of School. The results indicate that integrating English language material through various forms of play—such as role play, motor play, and construction play—not only enhances children's engagement but also accelerates their understanding of new vocabulary. Children demonstrated a good ability to recognize basic vocabulary, influenced by their habit of watching English-language videos. The findings also suggest that learning activities involving physical movement are more effective in improving vocabulary retention. Overall, the implementation of the STAR Method successfully created a fun and engaging learning environment, providing valuable insights for educators and practitioners about the importance of collaboration between educators and parents, while also encouraging the development of more innovative teaching methodologies at the PAUD level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta in developing English listening skills. Listening skills are an important aspect of English language learning, especially in the context of globalization. However, students often face various challenges, such as limited vocabulary, grammatical understanding, poor audio quality, and environmental distractions, which hinder their abilities. This research used a case study approach with qualitative methods, involving 30 students selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The results showed that 70% of students had difficulties in vocabulary, 60% in grammar, 50% were affected by audio quality, and 65% faced anxiety while listening. Most students preferred interactive digital media, such as video and audio, which helped reduce anxiety and improve their comprehension. Technology integration in learning was identified as a potential solution to overcome such difficulties and increase students' learning motivation.

Abstract

The integration of digital technologies has led to a significant transformation in educational practices, shifting from traditional classroom models to more dynamic, networked learning environments. This paper explores the concept of connectivism, a learning theory developed by Siemens and Downes, which emphasizes the importance of networks, connectivity, and collaboration in acquiring knowledge. Unlike traditional pedagogies that focus on content delivery, connectivism promotes the creation and navigation of networks to facilitate continuous learning. Key principles of connectivism include the diversity of opinions, the distribution of knowledge across networks, and the critical role of digital tools in learning processes. The paper discusses the practical applications of connectivism approaches in contemporary pedagogy, focusing on how educators can transform traditional classrooms into engaging, networked learning spaces. Despite its theoretical strengths, the implementation of connectivism faces challenges, including technological access, information management, and the need for pedagogical adaptation. Through this exploration, the paper aims to provide insights into how connectivism can enhance educational practices and prepare students for the complexities of a rapidly evolving, networked society.

Abstract

Corruption is a widespread problem that disrupts the stability and progress of a country, including Indonesia, and undermines the economy and public trust. Education is essential to tackle corruption from an early age to foster a culture of integrity and ethical behavior. In this article, we talk about how constructivist learning theory can be used to teach anti-corruption education in junior high schools. The purpose of this study is to show how important constructivist methods such as experiential learning, value-based education, role play, and discussion are in encouraging moral reasoning and civic responsibility among young students. Recent studies on constructivist pedagogy and anti-corruption education were collected through literature review methodologies. The findings suggest that constructivism promotes deeper moral engagement and better critical thinking, which is essential for understanding and combating corrupt behavior. In addition, students internalize anti-corruption principles through real-world scenarios, discussions, and community projects. As this study shows, the constructivist approach offers a promising platform for teaching anti-corruption education because it allows students to participate in the learning process interactively and think critically. This study shows that schools should prioritize a constructivist approach in equipping students with the moral competencies necessary to build a non-corrupt society
