Abstract

The process of selecting students for educational assistance in schools is still frequently performed manually by comparing individual student data. This approach is time-consuming and vulnerable to subjectivity and human error. To address this issue, this study developed a Decision Support System (DSS) using the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) algorithm to cluster students based on their eligibility level for aid. FCM is chosen due to its capability to categorize data into multiple clusters based on data similarity. Seven evaluation criteria were employed: father's income, mother's income, father's education, mother's education, birth order, number of siblings, and type of transportation to school. The dataset consists of student information that was preprocessed and weighted based on a predefined scale. Clustering was conducted with a maximum iteration of 100 and an error tolerance of 0.00001. The results indicate that FCM successfully grouped the students into two clusters, with 487 students classified as eligible for assistance and 202 students as ineligible. To validate the clustering, the results were compared with the official Dapodik dataset, which demonstrated a high degree of consistency. Therefore, the implementation of FCM in this decision support system has proven to be effective in producing objective, accurate, and efficient classifications.

Abstract

The alumni information system plays a crucial role in maintaining communication between alumni and educational institutions. Currently, alumni data management at the Information Systems Study Program of UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi is still conducted manually using Google Forms and WhatsApp groups, leading to difficulties in data recording and updates. Therefore, this research aims to develop a web-based alumni information system to enhance the efficiency of alumni data management, information dissemination, and communication between alumni and the institution. This study employs the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which consists of three main stages: requirement planning, system design, and implementation. The system was developed using the CodeIgniter framework and a MySQL database to ensure security and efficiency in alumni data management. The results of testing using the Black Box Testing method indicate that the system functions according to the designed specifications. Additionally, the results of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) show that 96% the system is well accepted by users as it provides easy access to alumni information, job vacancies, as well as feedback and suggestions. This system is expected to strengthen the relationship between alumni and the institution while offering more effective and structured alumni data management.

Abstract

Conventional Point of Sale (PoS) systems that are not integrated with warehouse management systems often cause inventory management issues, such as discrepancies between stock levels and sales data. This can lead to operational losses due to inaccurate decision-making. This research aims to design and implement a PoS system directly connected to an online inventory management system to address these issues. The waterfall model was used in developing this system, consisting of several stages: needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Each stage was implemented sequentially to ensure the system ran according to required specifications. The results of this research indicate that the developed PoS system successfully improved operational efficiency by streamlining the sales transaction documentation process and accelerating the verification of inventory availability in the warehouse. Furthermore, the system is equipped with automatic sales reporting and stock update features, reducing the potential for human error in data recording. With the integration of the PoS system and warehouse management, companies can manage transactions and inventory more effectively, in real time, and in an organized manner. The overall system developed can be a relevant and applicable technology solution for retailers and medium-sized businesses to improve their operational accuracy and productivity.

Abstract

The dependence of the electrical power system on fossil fuels can lead to various environmental problems and pose threats to energy sustainability. Approximately 81% of the electricity supply still comes from fossil fuels, which can cause high carbon emissions and supply instability due to limited fossil fuel reserves. These problems can be overcome by implementing Solar Home Systems (SHS) as an environmentally friendly solar-based renewable energy solution. This research was conducted experimentally at the Energy Conversion Laboratory, Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic. Solar Home Systems (SHS) require batteries to store energy produced by photovoltaics, where the energy captured by the panels is converted through a chemical process into electrical energy. The batteries used are lithium batteries, which have high energy density and a longer lifespan. The energy source has a capacity of 50 Wp stored in 24 lithium batteries, which can supply energy for a load of 50 watts. Considering these factors, an increased capacity is necessary if longevity is desired, along with the addition of instruments to measure the battery percentage for more precise readings.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a QR Code-based attendance application using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which is implemented at Bina Utama Kendal Vocational High School. The application was created to overcome the limitations of the manual attendance system currently in use, such as vulnerability to data loss, difficulties in maintaining accurate records, and inefficiency in attendance recapitulation. The RAD method was chosen because it emphasizes user involvement throughout the development process, ensuring that the resulting system meets user needs. The development stages included requirement planning, design, system development, and implementation. This web-based attendance application uses QR Code technology to record student attendance quickly, accurately, and in real time. Each student’s QR Code is scanned to mark their presence, which minimizes errors and prevents attendance fraud. In addition, the system includes features for managing student data, generating automatic attendance reports, and providing real-time monitoring for teachers and administrators.The system was tested using the Black Box method, which confirmed that all features function correctly and meet the requirements specified in the design phase. Furthermore, a user satisfaction survey conducted with 150 respondents (teachers, students, and staff) indicated a very high level of acceptance, with an average of 94.25% respondents strongly agreeing on the ease of use, accuracy, and benefits of this application. Overall, the study demonstrates that the QR Code-based attendance application significantly improves the efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of attendance management at Bina Utama Kendal Vocational High School.

Abstract

TikTok has emerged as one of the fastest-growing social media platforms in 2025, especially among the younger generation. Beyond being a space for creative content sharing, TikTok has also become a vital platform for the exchange of public opinion, primarily through user comments. As user engagement intensifies, sentiment analysis on TikTok comments becomes increasingly essential to understanding public perception of various issues, trends, public figures, and brands. This study aims to analyze sentiment in TikTok user comments using machine learning classification algorithms. The research compares the performance of three widely used algorithms in text classification: Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest. A dataset of 5,000 public TikTok comments was collected through web scraping of trending videos from January to March 2025. The comments, written in Indonesian, underwent several text pre-processing steps, including tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming, to normalize the data. The TF-IDF method was then applied to extract numerical features from the textual data. A stratified data split was used to divide the dataset into training (80%) and testing (20%) subsets, ensuring balanced sentiment class distribution. Performance evaluation was conducted using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. Among the tested models, SVM achieved the highest accuracy of 89.7%, outperforming Naive Bayes and Random Forest across all metrics. These results indicate that SVM is particularly well-suited for classifying short, informal text such as TikTok comments. The findings contribute to the advancement of sentiment analysis in social media environments, specifically for Indonesian language data on TikTok. Moreover, the study provides valuable insights for industry stakeholders, marketers, and academic researchers seeking to implement data-driven public opinion analysis using machine learning techniques on emerging social media platforms.

Abstract

The furniture industry faces challenges in managing production and distribution efficiently due to mismatches between customer demand and stock availability. UD. Putra Sinjai, as one of the furniture businesses in Gowa Regency, experiences difficulties in accurately planning production quantities and procuring raw materials. This study aims to design and implement a supply chain management (MRP) system using the Just In Time (JIT) method to improve production and sales efficiency. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The system was designed using the Agile development method with an Extreme Programming (XP) approach, which prioritizes flexibility and direct user involvement at every stage. The results show that the implementation of this system helps reduce waste, improve the accuracy of raw material management, and accelerate the production process according to consumer demand. The effectiveness measurement using the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) method with the indicators of plan, source, make, deliver, and return shows improved operational performance at UD. Putra Sinjai. With this system, the company is able to manage inventory in real-time, schedule production based on orders, and provide transparent information to customers. This study makes a tangible contribution by integrating information technology with a JIT-based furniture production management system, while simultaneously enhancing customer satisfaction and overall business competitiveness.

Abstract

The transformation of digital payment systems through blockchain technology has brought new challenges and opportunities in the development of secure, efficient, and decentralized crypto tokens. One emerging approach is the use of smart contract-based tokens, such as ERC-20 tokens running on the Ethereum network. This research proposes the design and implementation of the SDSPay (SDS) token as a prototype Ethereum-based ERC-20 token, with a modern smart contract approach to meet the needs of a more efficient and secure digital payment system. The SDS token adopts the basic ERC-20 standard but is equipped with advanced features that enhance functionality and security, such as role-based access control (RBAC) to regulate access and control over transactions, pauseable transactions to pause transactions if necessary, and compatibility with EIP-2612 permits that enable more efficient transaction authorization in terms of gas. These features are designed to improve the efficiency and security of transactions on blockchain networks, thus enabling the use of tokens in a more reliable digital payment system. The SDS token prototype was tested on the Sepolia Testnet using Remix IDE and MetaMask to develop and manage smart contracts. Additionally, a static security audit was conducted using Slither Analyzer to detect potential vulnerabilities. The test results showed that the SDS token was successfully deployed and performed well, with an average transaction time of 10–12 seconds and stable gas fees. The Slither audit also found no significant vulnerabilities, indicating that the smart contract structure adheres to security best practices. This study confirms that the development of standardized smart contract-based tokens can be carried out using an efficient, reliable, and replicable methodology for other applications in future blockchain-based payment systems. This implementation of the SDSPay (SDS) token can serve as a foundation for designing secure and efficient digital payment systems, paving the way for the broader development of blockchain technology.

Abstract

Traffic accidents are a serious problem frequently experienced by road users. Accidents do not occur by chance, but are triggered by several factors such as human error, vehicle technical failure (mechanical failure), and poor road conditions. This study aims to design and build a multi-platform Digital Map System for Accident-Prone Areas aimed at assisting the performance of the Bengkalis Traffic Police and providing information to the public on Bengkalis Island. This system is expected to be an innovative solution in accident risk mitigation efforts by presenting accident-prone location data in real-time and easily accessible to various parties. The method used in this study is the Rational Unified Process (RUP), a software development method that is carried out in stages and repeatedly (iteratively). The stages in the RUP include inception, elaboration, construction, and transition, each of which aims to produce a system that suits user needs. Each iteration produces a version of the system that can be tested and evaluated, so that errors or deficiencies can be detected early and effectively corrected. The result of this research is a digital map system equipped with accident-prone location markers based on previous traffic accident data, an early warning system (notification), and integration with GPS devices for navigation. System testing shows that the application can run well on various platforms, including Android mobile devices and the web. The conclusion of this research shows that the developed system can be optimally used by the community, especially on Bengkalis Island, as a means of information and increasing user awareness of traffic accidents.

Abstract

In daily life, many individuals have difficulty in determining a menu of dishes that match the ingredients available at home. This research aims to develop a web-based cooking recipe recommendation system that is able to provide relevant recipe suggestions based on ingredient input from users. The system is designed by combining the Content-Based Filtering method and the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm to improve the accuracy and relevance of recommendations. Feature representation is performed using the Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method to convert the list of materials into a numerical vector form. The measurement of similarity between ingredients and recipes was carried out using the Cosine Similarity approach, while the selection of the best recipe used the top-k technique based on the KNN algorithm. The system was tested against 10 different material input scenarios, and the evaluation results showed that the system had an accuracy rate of 80%, precision of 80%, recall of 100%, and an F1-score of 89%. These findings show that the developed recommendation system is effective in helping users choose recipes that match the available ingredients, as well as potentially reducing food waste. In addition, this system can be a practical solution in supporting the efficiency of household kitchens and encouraging optimal use of materials. Thus, the system has the potential to be further developed and integrated in a digital platform that supports a sustainable lifestyle.
