Abstract

Differences in language usage and translation meanings related to a word in the Qur’an are often confused. For example, as well as the word heart (qalb) in the Qur’an is mentioned 153 times in the singular, double, or plural. Sometimes qalb is interpreted as the meaning of reason knowledge as in the tafsir al-mishbah in QS. Qaf verse 37 interprets that the word qalb means someone who has perfect knowledge. But in the translation of the Qur’an Kemenag, the word qalb in the verse is still interpreted with the heart. This sometimes begs the question of what the verse means. This study used library research. This study compiles and searches for data and theories about the meaning of qalbu translation in the Qur’an on the Qur’an and the translation of the work of the Qur’an Kemenag including books/literature and written works of relevant figures as data sources. This research is qualitative descriptive. The approach used in this study is the theory of interpretation with the maudhu’iy (thematic) method because the collected data will be analyzed with the theory of interpretation with the maudhu’iy method. The results of this research on the latest official website of the Qur’an Kemenag, include an addition of a brief interpretation to express the meaning that the meaning of the heart in translation is a heart that can think and know the truth.

Abstract

Qawaid Tafsir by Khalid bin Uthman as Sabt is a book that formulates the sciences of exegesis into the form of rules, including reasonable calm in the Qur'an, he formulated three rules about reasonableness. First, most verses close with al-asma' al-husna to show that the message of the verse relates to these great names. Second, two adjacent verses or sentences, clearly or unclearly related, must have a unifying facet. Third, the general steps to find plausibility between verses in the Qur'an are to look for the surah, make provisional conclusions, analyze the provisional conclusions, and draw up the conclusion. This research is qualitative. Primary data sources are QS Al Hasyar, and secondary sources are the books "Reasonable Discourse of the Qur'an in Tafsir Al-Misbah" by Hasani Ahmad Said and books on 'Tulum al-Qur'an related to munasabah. The data collection method is carried out by (1) collecting verses that contain plausibility, (2) categorizing reasonable verses, and (2) analyzing through Qaedah Tafsir Khalid bin Usman As Sabat. Based on the analysis conducted, the study concluded that the author did that rule number 196 in the book of award tafsir is applied to verses 1, 6, 10, 18, 22, and 24. For rule 197 applied to verses 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,11,12,13,14,15,1617,19,20,21, and 24. While the 198th rule does not apply to the verse in Surat al Hashr

Abstract

This study discusses a comparison between the Islamic worldview, which emphasizes religious authority and intuition as sources of knowledge, and the contemporary worldview which focuses more on rationalism and empiricism. From the Islamic perspective, the tradition of "Khabar shadiq" derived from revelation and religious authority is the foundation of science, in contrast to the Western view which relies more on scientific methods and various sources of data, including big data. Modern technologies such as ChatGPT, which leverages big data, raise ethical and epistemological questions in the Islamization of science. ChatGPT itself faces limitations in its knowledge, while big data often faces problems of inaccuracy and bias. This research uses qualitative methods whose data sources come from books, theses, and journals on the epistemological thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and the development of ChatGPT in the latest context. Using documentation data collection methods, this study highlights the importance of considering epistemological and ethical issues in the use of modern technology, to ensure a positive contribution to the advancement of Islamic civilization, while maintaining the integrity of values from an Islamic perspective.

Abstract

The Qur'an is a revelation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and the basis of Islam is a guide for humans for a good afterlife. The Qur'an is a treatise, a form of great gift that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bestows on humans towards virtue, goodness, avoiding misguidance, peace and being merciful and good news for people who surrender wholeheartedly to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala (Qur'an 16:89). The Qur'an is a sacred book that was revealed as guidance based on knowledge and as proof of the truth (Qur'an 7:52). As evidence of the oneness of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the Qur'an, there is a lot of knowledge based on the Qur'an such as the creation of man (Qur'an 23:12-14). Not only detailed in its creation, but Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also states clearly, that humans are the best of creation (Qur'an 95: 4). Humans are special and perfect creatures, however, behind the perfection that humans have, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives lust as a fitrah to be used as an impetus in human survival. Lust has a strong influence on humans, the more it intervenes in a pure heart, the easier it is to mix the heart with the impulse of lust that is worldly. The lust that tends to the physical encourages humans to get pleasure and enjoyment from lust. Examples such as pride, greed, arrogance, and ingratitude. It causes man to begin to change what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given him. This article examines the thoughts of several mufasirs regarding Yugayyirunna Khalqallāh (changing Allah's creation). This study is library research with a qualitative approach. The data collection used is documentation. This study utilizes the works of 7 carefully selected mufasirs. The data is analyzed using the contents analysis method. The study found that Yugayyirunna Khalqallāh is divided into several parts such as (i) physical and non-physical changes (ii) permissible and prohibited changes (iii) permanent and non-permanent changes (iv) the impact of Yugayyirunna Khalqallāh behaviour in the perspective of science.

Abstract

Objective: This study explores the implementation of moral and personality development within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by analyzing the application of Kohlberg’s moral development theory through project-based learning in junior high schools in Purworejo, Central Java. The main objective of this research is to examine how project-based learning, as part of the independent curriculum, fosters students’ moral and personality growth. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework is based on Lawrence Kohlberg’s stages of moral development, emphasizing the importance of moral reasoning in shaping ethical behaviour. Literature review: A literature review reveals that integrating moral education into formal curricula, particularly through experiential learning, can enhance students’ capacity for critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and personal responsibility—elements essential for achieving the SDGs in education. Methods: A qualitative descriptive method was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. Data analysis followed the steps of data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. Results: The research findings indicate that at SMP Negeri 40, moral and personality development was effectively nurtured through democratic election projects (OSIS and MPK) and a local food processing initiative. Similarly, SMP Sultan Agung Purworejo applied the IPNU and IPPNU election projects, as well as a local cultural project titled Kitab Ngudi Susilo, to instil moral values and cultural awareness. Implications: The implications of this study suggest that contextual, project-based learning strategies are successful in aligning educational outcomes with the moral and personality competencies targeted by the independent curriculum and the SDGs. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in the contextual application of Kohlberg’s theory within the Indonesian junior high school setting, highlighting how project-based learning can bridge theory and praxis in moral education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of cash swipe transactions conducted through various platforms and applications from the perspective of Islamic economic law and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research adopts a quantitative approach and relies on literature review as the primary method. Data sources include books, journals, and other relevant references that address the core issue. The findings indicate that cash swipe transactions represent a functional misuse of credit cards, originally intended as a means of payment for goods and services. In these transactions, individuals feign purchasing goods but instead withdraw cash, facilitated by stores offering such services. This practice constitutes a violation of ethical principles in Islamic business. From the perspective of Islamic economic law, cash swipe transactions are deemed haram (prohibited) because they involve dishonesty, fraud, and the element of riba (usury). Furthermore, such transactions foster unethical business practices aimed solely at maximizing profit through illicit means. These violations disrupt the integrity of economic transactions and contravene Islamic ethical guidelines, which prioritize fairness, transparency, and mutual benefit. In the context of the SDGs, cash swipe transactions undermine several goals, particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). By promoting fraudulent activities and unethical practices, these transactions contribute to economic instability and erode trust in financial systems. Conversely, adherence to Islamic economic principles aligns with the SDGs by fostering ethical financial practices that promote sustainable economic growth, social justice, and institutional integrity. This study highlights the necessity of stricter regulations and public awareness to mitigate the risks associated with cash swipe transactions. Encouraging compliance with Islamic economic law not only preserves ethical standards but also supports global efforts toward achieving the SDGs.
