Abstract

The objective of this research is to explore how Henry Giroux’s theory of critical pedagogy can be applied to Islamic history education in order to enhance critical thinking, social awareness, and transformative learning. The study adopts Giroux’s theoretical framework, which includes ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions emphasizing student agency, dialogical learning, and ethical engagement. Using a qualitative literature study as the research method, this paper analyzes scholarly works on critical pedagogy and Islamic education to construct a contextual learning model for undergraduate Islamic history courses. The results demonstrate that traditional approaches to Islamic history often emphasize memorization over critical engagement, thereby limiting students' ability to relate historical narratives to contemporary social realities. By applying Giroux’s critical pedagogy, the study proposes a learning design that includes material and strategy innovations, diverse media tools, and formative assessments focused on critical dialogue and social relevance. The implications of this research suggest that adopting critical pedagogy in Islamic history education can contribute to the development of socially conscious, ethically responsible, and critically aware learners. The originality of this work lies in bridging Western critical pedagogy with Islamic educational objectives, offering a novel curriculum design that aligns with both transformative learning principles and the moral mission of Islamic education

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low Arabic writing proficiency among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Observations during the teaching and learning process revealed that the teacher relied solely on student worksheets (LKS) without incorporating appropriate instructional media. This lack of media use was considered a contributing factor to students’ limited writing skills. The objectives of this study are twofold: first, to analyze the effectiveness of reality-based learning media in assessing students’ Arabic writing skills; and second, to observe improvements in these skills following the implementation of reality image media in Arabic language instruction. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the methodological approach. The study involved 22 students, comprising 14 boys and 8 girls. The research was conducted over two cycles, each involving planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The findings indicate that the use of reality image media significantly enhanced students’ Arabic writing skills. In the first cycle, the writing performance reached only 31.8%. However, after refining the approach in the second cycle, the achievement rose to 86.3%. The students’ average score on the Arabic writing test reached 88.6, which exceeds the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) set at 75. These results suggest that reality-based media can serve as an effective tool to support the development of Arabic writing proficiency at the elementary school level.

Abstract

A child's success really depends on the parent's ability to set an example for their child. The current reality, especially in the 5.0 era, is that many parents are no longer role models. The aim of this research is to find out what examples are shown by parents in the 5.0 era. The method in this paper uses library research with a philosophical approach (examining parental example in the 5.0 era). The data collection technique used is documentation techniques. Many parents are inadequate in providing role models for their children. If parents want to be successful, they should educate themselves with a commitment to Islamic teachings, namely by being educated in the faith and always following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and always being a role model for their children. Because the Messenger of Allah is the best example for all people. Parents who can be imitated can essentially be educators for their children throughout life, even throughout the ages, because their children's example will be passed on to the next generation and so on. Example is the key to success, including the success of parents in educating their children.

Abstract

Indonesia as a multicultural country often faces challenges in maintaining religious harmony. Conflicts between religious communities are often triggered by misunderstandings, fanaticism, and a lack of understanding of the teachings of tolerance in the Qur'an. This research aims to identify the verses of the Qur'an that contain the values of tolerance by analyzing the maqashid of these verses, then examining their implementation in conflict resolution. This research uses a qualitative method based on literature studies, this research examines verses such as QS. al-Hujurat: 13, QS. al-Baqarah: 256, and QS. al-An'am: 108 to explore the main message contained in the verse. The results of the study show that the Qur'an encourages mutual knowledge, religious freedom, and ethics in dialogue between religious communities. The maqashid of these verses emphasizes the importance of safeguarding religion, the soul, and the honor of man. The contextual application of the Qur'an's values of tolerance can be an effective strategy in preventing conflict and building a harmonious life in the midst of diversity.

Abstract

This study applies bibliometric analysis to map the development of research on Qur'an recitation in the Scopus database between 1974 and 2024. The methods used include document and network analysis using tools such as R/RStudio, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel. The research process begins with a literature review to determine relevant keywords, then uses Boolean operators to identify 104 documents that meet the criteria. The data obtained is analyzed to map publication trends, distribution of authors, countries, institutions, journals, and collaborations between keywords. The results show a significant increase in publications since 2019, with a peak in 2023. Countries such as Indonesia and the United States dominate publications, while the University of Malaya is the institution with the highest contribution. The Journal of Religion and Health and Journal of Qur'anic Studies recorded the highest number of publications. Lead authors such as Babamohamadi H. and Ghorbani R. showed significant influence, with high citation growth. This study suggests the need for stronger global collaboration and application of technology in Qur'an recitation research to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This paper set out to explore how everyday cultural practices and strong beliefs help shape how effective an institution can be, revealing layers of influence that aren’t immediately obvious. A mix of methods was used—from surveys and interviews to the analysis of various performance markers—so that both qualitative insights and hard numbers could be considered side by side.  This study looks into how Islamic cultural values might influence organisational performance at Islamic universities in Uganda. Its focus is on understanding how everyday cultural practices and long-held beliefs can affect the way these institutions work; in most cases, both qualitative and quantitative data – gathered via surveys, interviews, and performance metrics analysis – will be used to tease out the link between Islamic cultural elements and organisational outcomes. The findings seem to point clearly to a link between using communal values, ethical behaviour, and leadership styles rooted closely in Islamic teachings and a boost in organisational results; in many cases, this translates into better employee morale, smoother collaboration, and a deeper sense of loyalty. Generally speaking, when cultural values are woven into everyday operations, the benefits seem to spill over quite naturally, especially in contexts where cultural identity holds major importance. It’s also worth noting that these insights aren’t limited to education; similar benefits could well be seen in the healthcare sector, where recognising and applying cultural principles might even improve organisational performance, patient satisfaction, and overall service quality. In all, by underlining the subtle yet meaningful impact of cultural nuances on building effective organisations, this study adds another voice to the wider debate on the need for management practices that truly respect and blend diverse cultural influences into their strategies.

Abstract

The intended goal of establishing the ‘Nadwatul Ulama’ Lucknow, India was to ignite the light of Islam throughout the world, by spreading the spirit and ideas of Islam among all people through the Islamic call, guided by wisdom, good advice, sound logic, and the modern era. It also aimed to protect Islam from all forms of suspicion and to dispel the doubts that had been raised about it due to dangerous propaganda and accusations directed against it, such as, the enemies of Islam, at the top of whose list are Christian and Jewish Orientalists and other missionaries who were directed towards it under the shadow of Western colonialism by distorting Islam and confusing the thoughts of Muslims by spreading the secular, irreligious idea in Islamic society. By indoctrinating the new generation of Muslims with deviant Western ideas, including Freudianism, Darwinism, existentialism, materialism, communism, atheism, and others, in this article we aim to clarify the desired objectives of establishing the 'Nadwatul Ulama' and briefly outline its role in achieving these desired objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the threats posed by artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled disinformation during global crises, including pandemics, geopolitical conflicts, and climate emergencies. While prior research has examined AI’s role in enhancing information processing and communication, few studies have critically analyzed how AI tools such as deep-fakes, NLP-generated fake news, and social media bots are systematically weaponized to distort facts and manipulate public perception at scale. This research addresses that gap by offering a thematic and case-based analysis of AI-driven disinformation campaigns during crisis periods. Using a qualitative descriptive design, this study employs library research and digital observation methods to analyze a variety of sources—academic publications, digital media artifacts, and case studies—related to disinformation. Data were collected through purposive sampling of literature and observed disinformation trends on social platforms. The data were analyzed thematically to classify the types of AI-assisted disinformation and examine their social, political, and psychological impacts. The results reveal that AI technologies significantly amplify the scale, speed, and believability of disinformation. Deep-fake content was found to influence public opinion by mimicking credible figures, while NLP-generated fake news exploits confirmation bias to spread ideologically charged narratives. Meanwhile, AI bots disrupt online discourse by creating echo chambers and undermining trust in public institutions. These dynamics were particularly evident in the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and climate change denial movements. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated approach to mapping AI-powered disinformation as both a technological and socio-political phenomenon. It proposes a tripartite mitigation framework involving technological detection systems, regulatory policy interventions, and media literacy campaigns to enhance societal resilience. This research contributes to the growing discourse on information disorder by offering a critical lens on how AI can both exacerbate and help solve the global crisis of trust and truth.

Abstract

This paper offers an observation at socio-economic impact of some Muslim non-indigenes on the development of Karmo community in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. It is suggested that the proximity of this community to Abuja could be one of the factors that attracted some non-indigenes including Muslims to take advantage of residing among its natives for decades in the place. The paper highlights different non-indigene tribes of Nigeria who are also located in the community apart from Muslims. It attempts to reveal variant socio-economic impacts that some non-indigenes particularly Muslims are contributing to the growth and development of this community that ranges from the tailoring work, transportation services, trading works, Mai-shayi tea spots and establishment of Islamic centres among others. It examines the development of Karmo community through these aforementioned processes by some Muslim non-indigenes since their settlement. This research employs survey method which data were collected through the in-depth interview technique along with the complementary of literary source materials for its compilation.
