Abstract

Religious moderation plays a crucial role in fostering tolerance and harmony in diverse societies. In Indonesia, the need to instill religious moderation in young learners has become increasingly vital, particularly in elementary schools, where foundational values are formed. This study examines the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in promoting religious moderation among elementary school students. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this research reviews existing literature on the implementation of religious moderation within the PAI curriculum and the strategies employed by teachers to instill these values. The findings suggest that PAI teachers are pivotal in shaping students' attitudes toward religious tolerance, using strategies such as role modeling, promoting respect through group discussions, and creating religious habituation programs. The study concludes that effective Islamic religious education can foster an inclusive, tolerant, and harmonious school environment, contributing to the broader goals of national unity and interfaith respect. This paper highlights the importance of PAI teachers as facilitators of moderation, emphasizing their role in guiding students to appreciate religious diversity and live harmoniously in a multicultural society.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Lajnah Bahtsul Masail Nahdlatul Ulama (LBM NU), which has significantly contributed to the issuance of legal decisions and the resolution of societal issues in both ritual jurisprudence (fiqh ibadah) and social jurisprudence (fiqh ijtima’i). The primary objective of this study is to analyze Nahdlatul Ulama's approach to Islamic legal thought, with a specific focus on madhhab-based ijtihad and institutional decision-making processes. Using a qualitative library research method, this study draws upon classical Islamic jurisprudential texts and contemporary scholarly works to assess how LBM NU addresses legal issues across both ritual and social domains. The findings reveal that NU employs a structured hierarchy of legal reasoning within its collective deliberations, including qauliy (textual referencing), ilhaqiy (analogical reasoning), and manhajiy (methodological reasoning). These methods enable LBM NU to maintain both flexibility and relevance, while remaining faithful to the traditions of the classical schools of Islamic law.In conclusion, LBM NU serves as a vital intellectual institution within Nahdlatul Ulama, effectively bridging the legacy of classical Islamic jurisprudence with the evolving needs of modern Muslim communities.

Abstract

Abstract Islamic Spiritual Activities (ROHIS) are highly beneficial in shaping a generation of Muslims who not only impact learning outcomes but also influence their spirituality. This research aims to address the issue of whether ROHIS activities affect the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study uses a Quantitative Method, also known as field research, conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Bojonggede, Bogor Regency. It provides an overview of the issues through analysis with a scientific approach based on the situation in the field. The study aims to examine how the influence of Islamic Spiritual Extracurricular Activities affects the learning outcomes of PAI for 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Bojonggede. The research data collected were analyzed using SPSS through several tests, including Descriptive Data, Instrument Test, Prerequisite Test, and Hypothesis Test. Based on the descriptive data calculations using descriptive statistics, it was found that the average score for variable X = 45.31 and variable Y = 85.09, the median or middle value for variable X = 45.00 and variable Y = 85.00, the mode or most frequent value for variable X = 40 and variable Y = 88, the standard deviation or difference score for variable X = 10.225 and variable Y = 2.291, the variance for variable X = 104.544 and variable Y = 5.249, the range score for variable X = 56 and variable Y = 6, the minimum score for variable X = 22 and variable Y = 82, the maximum score for variable X = 78 and variable Y = 88, and the total score for variable X = 1450 and variable Y = 2723. To determine whether there is an effect of variable X on Y, a Hypothesis Test was conducted using the Pearson product-moment correlation formula, a Significance Test using the t-test, and a Determination Coefficient. The results of the correlation test showed that the value of rhitung = 0.442 > r table = 0.266, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, indicating a positive influence of ROHIS activities on PAI learning outcomes. The results of the significance test show that the p-value (sig.) = 0.011 > 0.05 and the t-count value = 2.700 > t-table = 1.674, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, indicating a significant correlation between ROHIS activities and PAI learning outcomes. The contribution calculation (R Square/Determination Coefficient) or the influence of ROHIS activities on PAI learning outcomes is R2 x 100% = 0.4422 x 100% = 19.5%. This means that the contribution of ROHIS activities affects PAI learning outcomes by 19.5%, while 80.5% is influenced by other factors. These factors may include external and internal factors.

Abstract

Learning motivation refers to the internal drive within students that encourages them to acquire knowledge to achieve the success they aspire to. The lack of learning motivation in students becomes a challenge because the teacher’s teaching strategies are less innovative, particularly in applying teaching methods. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the Demonstration Method and learning motivation at SMP Islam Said Yusuf Depok. The research variables include the Demonstration Method (X) and Learning Motivation (Y). The population in this study consisted of all students at Sa'id Yusuf Islamic Middle School, totaling 131 individuals. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, so the sample taken specifically for class VIII students amounted to 50 people. Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documents. Data analysis was performed using SPSS statistics, including data description, validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test, and correlation test with product-moment Pearson correlation, significance test, and coefficient of determination. The data description for the Demonstration Method shows an average score of 125.62, a median of 127.50, a mode of 130, a standard deviation of 8.647, and a variance of 74.771, with the highest score being 147 and the lowest being 106. The data description for learning motivation shows an average score of 116.96, a median of 118.00, a mode of 102, a standard deviation of 8.647, and a variance of 329.546, with the highest score being 148 and the lowest being 78. The hypothesis test results, which examine the relationship between the Demonstration Method (variable X) and learning motivation (variable Y), show a correlation coefficient of r = 0.393 > r table 0.279. Therefore, Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected, indicating a positive relationship between the demonstration method and learning motivation in Fiqih subjects at SMP Islam Said Yusuf Depok. The correlation between these variables is statistically significant, as demonstrated by the t-test value of 2.960 > t table 2.021. The coefficient of determination is 0.154, meaning the contribution of the Demonstration Method to learning motivation is 15.4%, with the remaining influence coming from other factors.
