Abstract

Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) faces serious challenges regarding normalized verbal bullying (gojlogan) and the risk of cyberbullying among its Junior (MTs) and Senior (SMA) High School students, particularly amidst the inevitable expansion of the digital era. This community service program aimed to enhance understanding and cultivate a commitment to non-violence within the pesantren environment through a Persuasive-Educative Approach. The implementation method involved preliminary observations and interactive education utilizing empathy simulations, alongside the integration of Ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic Brotherhood) values and legal awareness regarding the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law. The results indicated a significant increase in student awareness concerning the psychological impacts of bullying and the legal consequences of digital violence. The persuasive approach proved highly effective in fostering empathy, prompting self-reflection (muhasabah), and successfully mobilizing a collective commitment against bullying among participants, as documented in a joint declaration. It is concluded that this method serves as a humanistic, valid, and highly relevant preventive solution for the pesantren context, which is characterized by intense social interaction and a transition toward digital culture

Abstract

Organisational performance is greatly influenced by the capacity of administrators to perform managerial functions effectively, particularly in planning, organising, implementing, and evaluating activities. This community service aims to improve the effectiveness of organisational management through organisational management training for ISMAU Banjarnegara administrators. The data were analysed descriptively and qualitatively to examine changes in the understanding, attitudes, and managerial skills of the administrators. The results of the service showed that the training contributed to an increase in the administrators' ability to formulate the objectives and direction of the organisation's programmes, divide roles and responsibilities more clearly, and develop more structured work coordination mechanisms. The administrators also began to understand the importance of documentation and evaluation as part of the organisational management cycle. In addition, the training encouraged the formation of a more systematic and accountable work pattern in the implementation of organisational programmes. These findings indicate that organisational management training not only improved the administrators' conceptual understanding but also strengthened the organisational management practices of ISMAU Banjarnegara in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service programme aims to improve the quality of Qur’anic learning through mentoring and training in the Lagu Qur'any programme at TPQ Al-Ikhlas, located in Nglele Village, Sumobito District, Jombang Regency. Lagu Qur-any is an innovative song-based learning medium whose lyrics are derived entirely from Qur’anic values and contain teachings related to faith (iman), worship (ibadah), and morality (akhlaq). This medium is designed to help students understand Qur’anic teachings in a more engaging, communicative, and memorable way. The programme employed a descriptive qualitative approach consisting of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were 30 TPQ students aged between 7 and 12 years. Data collection techniques included observation to identify changes in students’ participation and behaviour, semi-structured interviews with the TPQ management and teachers, and documentation as supporting evidence. Data were analysed qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ ability to memorise Lagu Qur-any, increasing from 30% before the mentoring programme to 83.3% after its implementation. In addition, students demonstrated better understanding of faith, worship, and moral values, as well as increased confidence, enthusiasm, and active participation in Qur’anic learning activities. Therefore, the Lagu Qur-any mentoring programme has proven to be an effective and innovative learning model that enhances the quality of Qur’anic education in TPQ and supports the development of students’ religious character in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The ability to read and write the Qur'an is a fundamental competency for every Muslim, serving as the foundation for understanding and practicing Islamic teachings. However, the Qur'anic literacy of the community in Kauman Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, still requires improvement, particularly in recognizing the Arabic alphabet (hijaiyah), pronouncing letters according to their correct articulation points (makhārij al-ḥurūf), applying basic rules of tajwid, and writing Arabic letters accurately. This community service program aimed to enhance Qur'anic literacy through Qur'an reading and writing assistance using the Qur'any Method developed by KH. Muhammad Qoyyim Ya'qub. The program employed an instructional mentoring approach with a participatory method, consisting of five stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, reflection, and follow-up. The learning process was based on the principles of the Qur'any Method Level 1, emphasizing sound practice, reading exercises, and writing exercises conducted systematically through repetition, direct guidance, and continuous correction. The results demonstrated significant improvements in participants' ability to recognize hijaiyah letters, read the Qur'an with proper pronunciation and basic tajwid, and write Arabic letters correctly. In addition, participants showed increased learning motivation, self-confidence, and a stronger habit of reading the Qur'an regularly. Therefore, the Qur'any Method has proven to be an effective model for improving Qur'anic literacy through community-based mentoring, fostering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective development. It is recommended as an alternative approach for community service programs and non-formal Islamic education to strengthen comprehensive Qur'anic literacy.

Abstract

Improving school quality requires systematic planning to ensure that development programmes can be implemented effectively and sustainably. One of the challenges faced by schools is the formulation of a School Quality Improvement Programme that aligns with the institution’s needs and strategic objectives. This community engagement activity aims to support the management team of Nurul Faizah Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Junior High School, Pasuruan Regency, in developing a School Quality Improvement Programme through a participatory mentoring approach. The target audience for the activity includes the headteacher, teachers and the school management team. The activity was carried out in five stages: needs analysis, workshops, guidance on programme development, document validation and evaluation. The mentoring focused on identifying the school’s needs, formulating quality improvement objectives, establishing success indicators, and systematically drafting the School Quality Improvement Programme document. The results of the activities demonstrated an improvement in participants’ understanding of educational quality planning, as well as the drafting of a School Quality Improvement Programme document that is aligned with the school’s vision, mission and development priorities. The participatory mentoring approach also strengthened collaboration between the headteacher, teachers and the management team in planning for continuous quality improvement. The resulting document is expected to serve as a strategic guide for the implementation of the quality improvement programme and the strengthening of school governance.

Abstract

Improving the quality of community-based Qur’anic education requires strengthening teacher competence as a key factor in sustaining learning at Qur’anic Education Centers (TPQs). This community engagement program aimed to strengthen the competencies of TPQ teachers in Alang-Alang Caruban Village, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency, through Qur’any method training. The program employed a participatory capacity-building approach involving needs identification, Qur’anic learning assistance, methodological training, practical application, and participatory evaluation. The training combined explanation, demonstration, guided practice, and discussion using Qur’any 1–2 teaching aids, Qur’any songs, Tafsir Amaly, and Tafsir Ahkam as the primary materials. The results indicate that the program broadened teachers’ methodological exposure and provided alternative instructional resources while connecting training activities with existing Qur’anic learning practices in the partner community. The program also shifted the orientation of community engagement from temporary direct teaching assistance toward strengthening local teachers as key actors in sustaining Qur’anic education. Its main contribution is conceptualized as a teacher-centered sustainability pathway for community-based Qur’anic education, integrating direct educational engagement, identification of instructional needs, methodological capacity building, practical application, reflection, and continued implementation by local educators. The program demonstrates that KKN-based community engagement can move beyond short-term educational service delivery toward more sustainable development of local educational capacity. Future programs should incorporate standardized competency assessments and follow-up observations to provide stronger evidence of teacher development and the sustainability of instructional practices.
