Abstract

The Riverside area has the potential to be developed into an interactive public space. The exciting thing about it is doing activities in places close to the water while enjoying its beauty and atmosphere. This study identifies activities in the Cikapundung River bank area, including necessary, optional, and social activities. Then, it was also identified whether the community involved the Cikapundung River bank area when carrying out the optional and social activities. The method used is qualitative research, using interviews and field observation. The results show that people who live directly adjacent to the river carry out activities with solid interactions with the Cikapundung River. Meanwhile, settlement areas close to the river but not directly adjacent have minimal interaction with the river. It was found that the location and the openness to the river greatly influenced whether or not people interacted with the river. The output of this study can be a basis for developing areas along river banks.

Abstract

Low cost apartment complexes are often considered poorly maintained in enhancing space configuration productivity, so the apartment complex needs to have a space configuration that can enhance its productivity to meet operational building costs. The problem that often occurs in many low-cost apartment complexes is what decision criteria should be made to increase the productivity of space configuration, especially in the Dabag Yogyakarta apartment complex. This research uses the preferences and perceptions of residents interested in living in the low-cost apartment complex. Conduct validity testing at Dabag apartment complex with questionnaires and change the existing space configuration with a new configuration considering field conditions as an evaluation of supporting variables such as the proximity of the apartment complex and facilities and the investment costs that must be incurred. The result is that the Dabag apartment complex has criteria for making decisions to increase the productivity of higher space configurations by adding sports fields, playgrounds, gardens, and multipurpose rooms. The research results can be a reference in increasing the productivity of the space configuration of the needed flat complex.

Abstract

The traditional settlement in Skonjing Village has unique characteristics that reflect the local community's close relationship with the natural surroundings. Using natural materials, especially wood, in house construction reflects the sustainable and eco-friendly principles the locals have implemented. The buildings built in the early period in Skonjing Village were mostly stilt houses that used materials easily found around the location. Through observation of field surveys and interviews with residents, this research identified the characteristics of Skonjing Village's traditional settlement based on their function, use of materials, and visual appearance that have been changed and threaten to be dismissed. It was discovered that the development performances of Skonjing Village started from the outskirts of the Ogan tributary and spread outwards, away from the riverbank. Understanding the characteristics of these traditional houses is crucial for preserving the cultural identity of Skonjing Village.

Abstract

The Sudimampir Market area is a public space located along the Sudimampir and Ujung Murung Road corridors and along the banks of the Martapura River, which is used to carry out various activities, especially commercial activities in Banjarmasin. The Sudimampir Market area is part of the old city area where some of the elements that form the physical area are not feasible or visible. This research aims to examine the implementation of 8 physical elements of public space along the commercial corridor of the Sudimampir Market area using Hamid Shirvani's (1985) theory. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, which is then analysed, and conclusions are obtained, starting with direct observation in the field, obtaining data which is then identified as the physical elements of forming urban space around the Sudimampir Market area. The results obtained show that the Sudimampir Market area of Banjarmasin City has not fulfilled the criteria for applying the physical elements of forming urban space, land use and building functions have a fairly good quality, but for circulation and parking, pedestrian ways, open space, activity support, signage and preservation still need to improve quality with better planning and design in the future.

Abstract

The problem of waste in dense settlements on river banks is one of the problems that has not been resolved to date. The increase in the amount of waste is not accompanied by the land area available for waste facilities and infrastructure, resulting in deviations in handling waste by dumping it into rivers. Proper handling of this problem can reduce the impact that occurs. One of the sub-districts in Palembang City facing this problem is Sub-district 3-4 Ulu, which directly borders The Musi River and densely populated settlements right on the banks of The Musi River. The methods used in this research are observation, interviews, and questionnaires to obtain data. The analytical methods used are descriptive analysis methods and superimpose analysis. The descriptive analysis method explains the characteristics of the community, while the superimpose analysis method provides options for placing appropriate waste disposal points. Then, information was obtained regarding the habits of the riverside residents of 3-4 Ulu Village in disposing of rubbish and the practical solutions for dealing with the rubbish problem.

Abstract

Buton Regency is in Southeast Sulawesi, with a society that is thick with culture and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, along with technological developments, it has affected the interest of the Buton people in preserving local culture, especially in the younger generation who are starting to not care about local cultural values. The problem is, currently there is no place for the community of cultural activities and the place for the development of Butonese culture. One of the efforts to maintain local cultural values is the need for a forum for cultural actors and the development of local culture, in the form of a cultural center building, which can also be used as a tourism support facility in Buton district. The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural center building design concept in Buton district with a traditional architectural transformation approach. This approach is intended so that the traditional values of Butonese are realized in the architecture of the cultural center building, which can be a historical moment of traditional Buton architecture. The research method uses descriptive analytical methods, by uncovering existing data and analyzing it with the traditional Buton architectural transformation concept. The resulting design concept is a transformation of traditional architecture which is applied to: the mass layout; spatial patterns of Malige traditional houses; philosophy of mass forms; ornaments; and structures in the Malige Buton traditional house buildings.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a construction education technique on a campus setting. The planning, design, and project management processes are more accurate and efficient because to the growing use of BIM in the construction sector. However, there could be a number of problems and challenges when using BIM among students and teachers on a college campus. A literature analysis and questionnaires were employed in this study to gather information from students at one of Yogyakarta universities. The information covered students' understanding of BIM, their practical experience with it, and their perspectives on its advantages and disadvantages in the educational process. According to the study's findings, nearly all of college students are familiar with BIM. The survey also highlighted a number of obstacles that prevent the use of BIM on campuses, including a lack of infrastructure and resources, a curriculum that isn't properly integrated with BIM, and access issues for BIM software. The research also looked at the potential for creating OpenBIM as a way to improve teamwork and flexibility when using BIM on campuses. The adoption of BIM on campuses can have a substantial positive impact on students' readiness for a work market that is becoming more and more digitized and technologically focused.

Abstract

Jodipan Tourism Village (KWJ) is the first colorful tourist village in Malang City. The formation of KWJ stems from the initiative of a group of students working together with PT. Indana and the local community to create a better environment for Jodipan Tourism Village. This village used to be a slum settlement which is now transformed into a colorful village that attracts the attention of local and foreign tourists. Increasing the function of the village as a tourist attraction apart from providing economic and social benefits for local residents, also affects their daily lives. In dealing with these changes, there is the role of social participation of local residents to maintain the sustainability of the tourism function and their own survival. This research uses literature review, interview, and descriptive data analysis methods to explore the social participation of residents in the development of Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan before revitalization, after revitalization, and now. The results showed that the form of social participation of the citizens was influenced by the conditions and problems faced at that time and was a form of adaptation to the new environment that was formed. With residents carrying out social participation, residents can improve the economy because of tourism activities in Jodipan Colorful Village.
