Contextual Natural Science Education Journal (E-ISSN: 3046-8094) is a peer reviewed and open access scientific journal first published by the Science Education Doctoral Study Program, Postgraduate Program, Mataram University. This journal distributes papers written based on the results of original research studies in the fields of natural science education, biology education, physics education, and chemistry education and its applications. The Contextual Natural Science Education Journal publishes its issues four times a year in March, June, September and December.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan budaya dalam proses pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan antusias belajar dari peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis tren penelitian Etnosains pada Pembelajaran IPA yang terkait dengan klasifikasi penulis dan organisasi, serta klasifikasi kata kunci. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari dokumen yang diindeks Google Scholar dari tahun 2014-2023 menggunakan Publish or Perish dan Dimension.ai. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan pedoman PRISMA. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis bibliometrik yang dibantu software VOSviewer. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tren penulisan artikel Etnosains pada pebelajaran IPA mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dari Tahun 2021 hingga tahun 2022. Peneliti yang paling banyak mempublikasikan artikel tentang etnosains dalam pembelajaran adalah Woro Sumarni dari Universitas Semarang dengan jumlah 23 publikasi dengan rata-rata kutipan tahunan 8,17. Hasil analisis pemetaan kepadatan menunjukkan bahwa tema yang jarang diteliti adalah Model, budaya, modul pembelajaran.

Abstract

Kemampuan generik sains dapat diterapkan dalam dunia kerja karena dihasilkan dari kemampuan intelektual yang dipadukan dengan kemampuan psikomotorik sehingga menghasilkan sikap yang melekat sepanjang hayat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis tren penelitian kemampuan generik sains dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari dokumen yang diindeks Google Scholar dari tahun 2018-2023 menggunakan Publish or Perish dan Dimension.ai. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan pedoman PRISMA. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis bibliometrik yang dibantu software VOSviewer. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tren penulisan artikel dalam jurnal terakreditasi mengenai kemampuan generik sains mengalami peningkatan setiap tahun mulai dari tahun 2014 s/d 2023. Jurnal yang memiliki jumlah sitasi terbanyak mengenai kemampuan generik sains adalah Journal of Physics Conference Series namun yang lebih banyak melakukan publikasi dengan kata kunci ini adalah Jurnal Penelitian Pendidika IPA. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui pemetaan penelitian media pembelajaran didapatkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan generik sains pada materi energi dan perubahannya masih jarang diteliti sehingga dapat dijadikan referensi untuk melakukan penelitian berikutnya.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the influence between independent variables and dependent variable, namely prakerin experience (X1), skill competence (X2), achievement motivation (X3) and employability skills (Y). The research method is quantitative research with ex post facto type. Population of this research were students of grade XII TKJ study program at SMK in Makassar City with the total of 195 students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: (1) prakerin experience, skill competence, achievement motivation and employability skills of students SMK in Makassar City is included into good category; (2) There is a significant influence and positive between prakerin experience, skill competence, and achievement motivation toward employability skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the profile of students' analytical abilities in completing case study assignments on the topics of Global Warming and Carbon Emissions in a Philosophy of Science course. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach involving 31 students from the Science Education Study Program. Data were collected through the assessment of case study assignments and analyzed based on four aspects: case comprehension, problem analysis, evidence-based argumentation, and communication of results. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and achievement categories. The findings revealed that the case comprehension aspect achieved the highest mean score of 90.03 (excellent), followed by problem analysis with a mean score of 80.61 (good), evidence-based argumentation with a mean score of 71.10 (good), and communication of results with a mean score of 60.19 (fair). These findings indicate that students were able to understand issues related to global warming and carbon emissions effectively; however, they still require further support in communicating their analytical findings in a systematic and argumentative manner. Case study-based learning has the potential to serve as an effective strategy for fostering students' critical and reflective thinking skills in Philosophy of Science courses.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evolution of research on critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills in education during the period 2017–2026 using a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from Google Scholar through Publish or Perish and Dimensions.ai and analyzed using VOSviewer to generate network, overlay, and density visualizations. The findings reveal a significant increase in publication output over the last decade, reflecting growing global interest in these competencies. Journal articles emerged as the dominant publication type, while education was identified as the leading research field. The results also indicate strong connections between critical thinking and creative thinking, with creativity, creative thinking, critical thinking skills, relationship, and higher education appearing as the most influential keywords. Visualization analyses demonstrate that these concepts form an interconnected knowledge structure and have increasingly been associated with educational innovation, digital transformation, and 21st-century skills development. Furthermore, the research themes show strong alignment with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education. Overall, the findings suggest that critical thinking and creative thinking have evolved into complementary and multidisciplinary competencies that play a strategic role in education and human development. Future research should focus on integrating these competencies with emerging technologies and innovative learning environments.
