Abstract

Educators at Nurul Yaqin Islamic Junior High School and Cihuni Islamic Junior High School in Tasikmalaya Regency face challenges in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for in-depth learning due to limited understanding and practical skills. This community service activity aims to improve teacher competency in utilizing AI to create meaningful, enjoyable, and conscious learning. The method used is a participatory approach involving 20 teachers in a series of activities from July to November 2025, including socialization, intensive training, workshops on the use of Gemini AI, implementation, and mentoring. Evaluation used pre-test and post-test instruments to measure competency improvement. The pre-test results showed that initial pedagogical understanding was better than technical mastery of AI, with weaknesses in exploring advanced features and joyful learning strategies. After training, the post-test results showed a significant increase in understanding and skills in using Gemini AI, especially in aspects of processing teaching device results (score 1.00) and feature utilization (0.96). Understanding of meaningful (0.96) and joyful (0.85) pedagogical concepts also increased significantly, although the mindfulness aspect (0.67) still requires further strengthening. This activity was highly positive among participants and successfully addressed partner issues, serving as a model for effective and sustainable AI technology implementation in rural schools

Abstract

21st-century education demands the development of literacy skills, technology utilization, and environmental awareness. One innovation that integrates these three aspects is the development of a School Literacy Forest, a nature-based learning space that integrates literacy activities and environmental education. SMP Islam Nurul Yaqin in Sodonghilir Sub-District, Tasikmalaya Regency has pioneered the "PENGHUNI SEKOLAH" program (School Literacy Forest Development) as a form of commitment to contextual learning. However, the utilization of this literacy forest area is still not optimal due to the lack of educational media, the absence of technology integration, and limited training for teachers and students. This community service activity aims to: Develop the school literacy forest into a technology-based learning space that supports cross-disciplinary learning; Enhance the capacity of teachers and students in utilizing information technology for the management and enrichment of environmental literacy content; Provide digital media such as interactive QR Codes, infographics, and e-literacy content; and Build a digital-based literacy documentation system accessible to the school community and the public. Implementation methods include teacher-student training and mentoring, creation of digital educational media (plant QR Codes, e-books, infographics), installation of temperature and humidity measuring instruments, and creation of a literacy forest location map. Based on the results of the partner response questionnaire distributed to teachers and students of SMP Islam Nurul Yaqin, this community service activity successfully achieved very positive results. Abstract

Sistem budidaya kepiting bakau berbasis apartemen vertikal (Vertical Crab Farming/VCF) memberikan solusi atas keterbatasan lahan, namun kerap terkendala pada tingginya konsumsi energi akibat penggunaan pompa secara terus-menerus. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan menerapkan teknologi Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) hemat energi pada sistem VCF melalui pendekatan sirkulasi air berbasis gravitasi yang dikendalikan oleh level air pada reservoir. Reservoir ditempatkan pada ketinggian 3 meter dan diisi menggunakan pompa celup 370 watt yang bekerja secara intermiten. Pengujian menunjukkan debit air sebesar 0,4–0,5 liter/menit per box mampu dipenuhi dengan total kebutuhan sirkulasi 1,8 m³/jam untuk 50 box. Analisis menggunakan pendekatan persamaan debit aliran dan konsumsi energi menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini hanya membutuhkan 1,97 kWh per hari, dibandingkan 8,88 kWh/hari pada sistem konvensional, dengan efisiensi penghematan energi mencapai 77,8%. Sistem juga menunjukkan efisiensi distribusi air yang merata dan mendukung kualitas air yang stabil dengan desain manifold dan orifice presisi. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi VCF berbasis RAS hemat energi dapat direplikasi oleh pembudidaya skala kecil untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan keberlanjutan budidaya kepiting di lahan terbatas.

Abstract

Masalah penjadwalan dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran merupakan sebuah masalah yang menarik. Salah satu masalah adalah terdapat kesulitan guru-guru yang mengajar pelajaran yang sama di waktu yang sama dalam beberapa kelas yang berbeda. Mengangkat persoalan dari sekolah mitra tingkat dasar Negeri 4 di Tugu, Tasikmalaya, yaitu kesulitan dalam pengaturan penjadwalan dalam pengajaran. Sehingga dalam rangka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, memberikan usulan masalah akan terselesaikan dengan mensosialisasikan dan menggunakan konsep pewarnaan graf. Dalam penggunaan konsep pewarnaan graf digunakan pendekatan algoritma largest degree ordering, karena langkah algoritma ini lebih sederhana daripada algoritma yang lain.

Abstract

Kec. Cibalong, Kab. Tasikmalaya is 32 km from Siliwangi University and has manganese ore deposits. Kec. Cibalong has smallholder manganese ore mining with the management carried out by local. Two micro and small scale mining companies (UMK), namely the Bara Abadi and Mangan Jaya Companies as partners for community service activities and are local companies that accommodate and facilitate the marketing of people's manganese ore mining products. Both companies have an average of ten workers as miners. During the manganese ore exploration process, it generates residual waste in the form of manganese ore tailings from leaching. Estimates based on information made by the two partners indicate that for every tonne of manganese ore produced, two tonnes of manganese ore tailings are removed. Based on current production levels, it can be estimated that approximately 1,200 tonnes of manganese ore mine tailings are produced annually in Setiawaras Village. These manganese ore tailings are abandoned on roadsides, reservoirs, vacant lots and mining areas. The problems faced by partners are (1) the accumulation of manganese ore mine tailings disturbs and narrows the land for manganese ore mining activities, (2) manganese ore mining tailings causes soil and groundwater pollution, (3) limited knowledge and skills of partners in processing manganese ore tailings products into quality printed roof tiles, (4) limited equipment for the production process of molded bricks from manganese ore mine tailings. The objectives of this program are (1) to increase the added value of manganese ore mining tailings through downstream processing of tailings into molded roof tiles for building materials, (2) to increase the knowledge, insight and skills of the partners group in the manufacture of molded roof tiles without burning from manganese ore mine tailings, and (3) equip production equipment to convert manganese ore mine tailings into molded tile products. The number of participants was 5 members of the Bara Abadi and Mangan Jaya companies in Setiawaras Village. The training was held from 24 to 25 September 2022. This activity is carried out using training, practice, and mentoring methods. The training method is to provide materials on the procedures for making printed roof tiles from a mixture of manganese tailings and plastic waste adhesive. The practical method is carried out by practicing the preparation of fine manganese tailings, adhesive from plastic waste, heating a mixture of manganese tailings and plastic waste using a drum, molding dough with tile molds. The results of the training showed that the participants' interest in this activity was very good, especially for the aspects of tile printing, practicality, and community empowerment. From the aspect of operating activities, it indicated that participants could use and operate the tile printer independently without assistance.
