Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of virtual reality (VR) technology in simulating Ohm's Law experiments in physics education. Ohm's Law is a fundamental concept in physics that relates voltage, current, and resistance in electrical circuits, which is essential for understanding various electrical phenomena. However, conventional physics experiments are often limited by the availability of equipment, infrastructure, and costs. Virtual reality offers a solution by providing immersive and interactive simulations, allowing students to conduct experiments without physical constraints. This study employs literature review approach to evaluate trends in the use of VR in Ohm's Law experiments. The results show that VR technology can enhance students' understanding of abstract physics concepts, increase engagement and motivation, and offer more flexible and safer access to physics experiments. This study also notes that combining real and virtual experiments yields better results than relying on one type of experiment. Therefore, the use of VR in physics education holds significant potential to overcome existing limitations and support more effective and engaging learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of problem-solving skills using problem-based digital learning module. The research method used is quasi-experiment design with non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used is the purposive sampling of 60 subjects with 30 for the experimental class and 30 for the control class. The research result indicates the learning process both classes runs well. It is proven by the significance of the hypothesis test result which is less than α (0,005) < 0,05). It can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that there are differences in students’ problem-solving skills in the experiment class and control class. This proves the treatment in the experimental class using problem-based digital learning module integrated with religious values can influence students' problem-solving skills better than the PowerPoint learning media used in the control class.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) offers great potential to enhance the quality of education, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This community service program aimed to improve teachers’ competencies in utilizing AI, specifically ChatGPT and GEMINI, to develop innovative learning tools. The training and mentoring activities were conducted at SMPN 1 Singaparna, Tasikmalaya Regency, involving 26 science teachers. Evaluation was carried out through pretests and posttests to measure participants’ knowledge improvement, workshops to produce learning products, and monitoring of classroom implementation. Pretest results showed that 65% of participants had a low understanding of AI concepts and the Merdeka Curriculum. After the training, 85% demonstrated good understanding. The workshop produced 10 AI-based learning tools that were assessed as innovative, relevant, and creative. Monitoring indicated that 75% of participants successfully integrated these tools into their classroom practices. This success was influenced by hands-on training, continuous mentoring, and teacher collaboration. However, some participants still faced challenges in adapting the tools to individual student needs. The program demonstrates that collaborative practice-based training and mentoring effectively enhance teacher competencies and foster the creation of technology-based learning innovations aligned with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This research was conducted to explore the effects of implementing the use of RADEC learning paradigm affects the Pancasila Student Profile's creative component, particularly in relation to alternative energy-related subjects. Using a matching-only posttest-only control group design, a quasi-experimental approach was used to select participants, with Class X.10 (36 students) serving as the control group and Class X.12 (36 students) as the experimental group. A posttest consisting of 10 essay questions that were all in line with the three creativity indicators listed in the Pancasila Student Profile was used to measure creativity. The research process included preliminary testing, expert validation, instrument trials, analysis of model implementation, the study also involved Hypothesis test through Test the significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the computed t-value (t = 8.4) was above the significance level critical t-value (t = 1.67), prompting acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). These findings suggest that the RADEC model significantly enhances the creative dimension within the Pancasila Student Profile when applied to alternative energy material. The uniqueness of this study lies in its innovative application of the RADEC model in Physics instruction to foster student creativity and strengthen the creative competency within the Pancasila Student Profile framework.

Abstract

Analysis of TPACK’s understanding physics teachers in using learning media. This study aims to determine the use of learning media used by physics teachers in the learning process. This research method is qualitative with research instruments in the form of questionnaires, document analysis and interviews. The study sample consisted of 60 physics teachers in West Java. The results of the study show that the majority of physics teachers still use Power Point media as the main media, then use electronic references, and interactive multimedia. Based on the media compilation process, almost most of them directly use existing media. The main reason is the lack of training gained by teachers in developing learning media. The conclusion of this study is that physics teachers still need technology and pedagogic knowledge in learning. Keywords: content knowledge, ICT, pedagogical knowledge. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v10.i3.202014

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important in learning because they encompass conceptual understanding and rational decision-making. However, students' critical thinking skills are relatively low, and innovation in physics learning is minimal. Therefore, the ARCS model, supported by brainstorming, was implemented as an intervention. The study aims to identify the effect of the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction learning model assisted by brainstorming on students' critical thinking skills on alternative energy material in class X of SMA Negeri 1 Cihaurbeuti in the 2024/2025 academic year. The methodological design used is a quasi-experiment with a posttest only control group design structure. The study population includes 12 classes of class X, with purposive sampling of two classes, namely X-6 and X-8. The research measurement instrument is an instrument in the form of a descriptive assessment consisting of six questions arranged to represent all indicators of critical thinking skills. Hypothesis test analysis using the t-test produces a value of  which significantly exceeds the critical threshold of   at the significance level (  =0.05) thus stating that H₀ is rejected. Thus, the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction model assisted by brainstorming provides a significant contribution to students' critical thinking skills. This study recommends learning using the ARCS model combined with brainstorming methods to improve critical thinking skills and encourage student involvement in formulating ideas or solutions to problems collaboratively. Further research could empirically test the effectiveness of the combination of ARCS and brainstorming on different topics or with variations of other collaborative strategiesCritical thinking skills are important in learning because they encompass conceptual understanding and rational decision-making.
