Abstract

Cases of sexual harassment in Indonesia are increasingly prominent in the media when victims speak publicly. KOMNAS Perempuan notes that the spectrum of sexual abuse against women has increased by 800%. This seems to be a reminder for us, especially the young generation, to have the knowledge and ability to protect behavior from sexual abuse. This study aims to measure the extent of literacy of sexual harassment and violence on the level of self-protection by adolescents (15 – 21). A total of 120 young people consisting of men and women have participated in the online survey. Two-stage regression data analysis was carried out to measure each item. The sexual abuse literacy items (x) consist of Functional Literacy, Socio-Cultural Practice Literacy, Intellectual Empowerment Literacy, and The protection ability items (y) self-efficacy and self-defense. The results show that the higher the literacy level of adolescents against sexual abuse and harassment, the more they will be able to protect behavior from various threats.

Abstract

Child marriage has happened in several regions that apply a Patriarchal culture. It causes an increase in the Indonesian population. Besides, it also impacts when getting married at teenage age, such as the occurrence of domestic violence. It may be worst and may cause many deaths of children and mothers. In the concept of gender equality, the ideal marriage comes from the harmonious cooperation between husband and wife. Therefore, stopping child marriage is not easy. It is due to educational, social, economic, and cultural factors. This research uses a literature study with a qualitative approach that analyses the concept of feminist hermeneutics. The Qur'an does not directly mention the age limits for marriage, but An Nisa 'verse 6 gives a hint related to marriage. This research focuses on the comparative interpretation of the contextual male feminists’ criticism, namely KH. Husein Muhammad and KH. MA. Sahal Mahfud. The results of this research examine that child marriage according to KH. Husein Muhammad is still happening in society because of culture. Then, children should marry with the requirement that they have reached puberty and have mental and physical readiness in line with KH. Sahal Mahfudh suggestion revealed that mujbir's guardians might marry their children. However, it requires permission and approval from prospective adult women. It is very important because if the woman has no inner and outer consent, the marriage carried out will be very dangerous.

Abstract

Gender stereotypes in political discourse, particularly on social media, have intensified and become pivotal in shaping public perceptions and political engagement. Despite extensive scholarly efforts to examine gender and politics within online platforms, there remains a critical gap in systematically mapping the thematic and conceptual patterns across studies. This research aims to identify dominant trends, recurring stereotypes, and thematic clusters in gender-political discourses on social media. Adopting a qualitative systematic literature review approach, the study analyzes 89 peer-reviewed articles from the Scopus database (2012–2021), with a focus on the social sciences. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 12 Plus and VOSViewer to generate thematic classifications, density visualizations, and project maps. Key findings reveal an increasing prevalence of topics such as gender and sexuality, female leadership, anti-immigration narratives, and the politicization of identities, including Black, Muslim, and White women. These themes intersect with broader political narratives and reflect persistent digital gender biases. The study identifies three central conceptual propositions—gender, politics, and social media—as mutually reinforcing spheres of discourse. This review not only fills a critical scholarly gap but also contributes to the epistemological understanding of gendered political communication, offering foundational insights for future interdisciplinary inquiry and policy-oriented research.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of gender relations and family communication patterns in coastal and mountain communities in Aceh to understand how family harmony is maintained in different socio-geographical contexts. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, focus group discussions, and documentation involving 20 families—10 from North Aceh District and 10 from Central Aceh District. This research is grounded in the analysis of gender partnership concepts and communication orientation theories. Data validation employed source triangulation, and analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, display, and verification. The findings reveal that mountain communities implement gender partnership models in the division of domestic and public roles, promoting equality. In contrast, coastal communities maintain a more traditional division of roles, with women in domestic and men in public spheres, albeit adaptively. Decision-making predominantly remains with male heads of families in both communities, though collaborative consultation is evident. Communication patterns differ: coastal communities display patterns of equality and imbalanced separation, whereas mountain communities emphasize balanced separation through traditional practices like manganese iyo. These patterns foster mutual understanding, openness, and trust, contributing significantly to family harmony and reducing divorce rates.

Abstract

This paper aimed to acknowledge LGBTQ as a distinct discourse that emerged from the very foundation of Radical Feminism with specific reference to Nature and Nurture theory, HIV/AIDS, and Islamic theology. This study employed the discourse analysis method to accomplish this goal. It focused on its ideologically beneficial impact by examining power relations in an established narrative, how power relations shape a society or organisation's LGBTQ practices, and analysing its creative change and repetition of ideas and behaviours. Consequently, This research explored LGBTQ from a chronological history and dynamic perspective of Feminism, as well as how such changes reflect and drive societal development of gender equality from sole emancipation of human rights to a radical bodily expression. As an additional reason for addressing the growing difficulty posed by the LGBTQ movement, this research concluded by doing a more in-depth investigation of Islamic teachings concerning the shortcomings of LGBTQ activity with further suggestions regarding better strategies to deal with this challenge.

Through a gender-based empowerment strategy, gender-based coastal zoning can result in an integrated and long-lasting implementation of coastal area management and increase coastal community resilience. This paper aims to emphasize the need of considering the demands and behaviors of women and to determine the effect of gender mainstreaming in coastal zoning on coastal area resilience. The method used in this paper is descriptive research as to conduct the potential for conducting analysis related to the role of women in coastal areas, the tools used by researchers is zoning method based on the results of the literature study, the trend of gender involvement in coastal and marine areas is still dominated by men (64%) and women (36%). The findings in this study shows Both women and men have different roles and it is undeniable that they are still interrelated in exploring fishery and marine resources. The economic resilience of coastal communities (fishers) is highly dependent on the presence of fish. The existence of fish is highly dependent on the presence of coral reefs, mangrove forests, and non-mangrove forests or coastal forests as green belts. There is a causal relationship between fish and their environment, the role of women in coastal areas is mostly found in inland coastal areas with the types of activities of production, product processing, marketing, and resources collection, the efforts to close the gap are to use the use of marine spatial planning by defining the use of space and traditional user rights through the participation of women to make them more empowered.

Abstract

This study analyzed the strategic policies for preventing early marriage in Rembang Regency. This evaluative study used interviews, questionnaires, and document studies methods for data collection. The result of the study showed that the gender-integrated early marriage prevention policy in Rembang district can be seen in regulations, budgets, the strengthening of child groups, institutions, and cooperation. Sufficient budget and human resources and the openness of information systems, were the strengths of the policy on preventing early marriage in this area. Otherwise, the partial activities, lacked of monitoring and evaluation, a commitment to gender mainstreaming was not yet optimal, a gender-biased organizational culture, the politics of budget that often changed, and the children's forum less active were the weaknesses in this policy. The national and international policies; discipline by the population administration; gender and child disaggregated data; the technology of information; collaboration with NGO and the private sector were the opportunities that must be considered for the success of this policy. On the other hand, we must watchful to policy threats, such as: lack of education, high poverty level, patriarchy, early marriage traditions, “ngemblok” tradition, the technology of information, the age limit for marriage has changed, the community involvement was very minimal, unbalanced of gender insight, and lack of understanding on children’s rights. The early marriage prevention policy has impacted the target groups, non-target groups, and direct and indirect costs. Optimization of early marriage prevention policies should be done by using Scheme 1, maximizing strengths to minimize the threats; Scheme 2, optimizing gender equality in regional apparatus organizations; and Scheme 3, monitoring and evaluation periodically and structurally. These schemes must pay attention to the five "rights". These five righst were choose the right policy and program, the right implementation, the right target, the right environment, and the last was the right process.
