Jati Emas (Jurnal Aplikasi Teknik dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) is a scientific journal published by the Perkumpulan Dosen Indonesia Semesta (DIS), East Java Regional Board, with E-ISSN 2550-0821. The journal is published quarterly, in March, June, September, and December. Jati Emas aims to serve as a publication platform for scholarly works based on applied engineering and community service activities, particularly for early-career lecturers, students, and authors developing their scientific publication skills. The journal emphasizes author mentoring to ensure articles meet scientific standards, novelty, and publication ethics, and implements a published-in-ready system to accelerate the publication process. Its focus and scope include innovation and application of appropriate technologies, solving real community problems through scientific and engineering approaches, implementation of community service programs with direct impacts on community capacity building and welfare improvement, as well as the development of cross-disciplinary applied methods and practical solutions oriented toward social benefits.

Abstract

Rapid technological advances lead to intense business competition among entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs utilize technology to improve company performance and profits. Many companies have begun implementing information systems to ensure their operations run smoothly. The transition to information systems or digitalization faces a number of challenges for employees, resulting in decreased performance due to difficulty in adapting. This problem also occurs in the supply chain division, which is one of the main parts of the company's operational management. This study aims to analyze the impact of information systems on the performance of the supply chain division. The study was conducted quantitatively using the Multiple Linear Regression method. The Multiple Linear Regression method involves more than one independent variable. Sampling was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 50 employees of the supply chain division. The results of the SPSS test of multiple linear regression show that the regression coefficient values ​​for the variables of ease of use of information systems, availability and quality of real-time data, and the level of automation and process efficiency, have positive values. This means that if the value of the three variables increases, the performance of the supply chain division will increase. These three variables need to be further considered by the company in handling the digitalization process.

Abstract

Cafe D'Lagoon is one of the cafes in the area that has great potential to grow, but the income generated is still not optimal. One solution to overcome this is to collaborate with local MSMEs. This community service program aims to facilitate an increase in Cafe D'Lagoon's income by combining local MSME products into cafe services. This activity is carried out by involving local food industry MSMEs to promote their products in the cafe. In addition, this activity also has the potential to have an impact on increasing cooperation between cafes and local MSMEs, which provides benefits for both parties. The results of the activity show that cafe income has increased and MSME products can be promoted more widely. In the long term, this activity will create a sustainable cooperation model between cafes and local MSMEs.

Abstract

Waste is the remaining material from human activities that is no longer needed. Waste must go through a good handling process so that it does not cause problems for the environment. Organic waste can provide benefits if managed properly. Organic waste processing requires appropriate technology so that no new waste is generated from the processed results. One of these technologies uses the maggot cultivation method carried out at the Selopuro TPA (Final Processing Place). After the maggots grow large due to the process of decomposing organic waste, maggots can be used as the main feed in catfish cultivation which is also found at the Selopuro TPA. The purpose of this activity is to analyze the effectiveness of the maggot cultivation method in reducing organic waste at the Selopuro TPA. The implementation method is by direct observation. The data used in this study is primary data. The results of the study show that managing organic waste using maggots is an environmentally friendly and inexpensive processing alternative, and is able to decompose organic waste faster.

Abstract

This international community service aims to provide real support and contribution in the maintenance of the prayer room at Rajamangala University, Thailand. This community service activity is carried out by a cross-country team involving students, lecturers, and educators from various disciplines. The main focus of this community service is the maintenance of the physical facilities of the prayer room, such as repainting, repairing prayer facilities, and cleaning the surrounding environment. In addition, this program also seeks to strengthen relations between international Muslim communities and raise awareness of the importance of a decent place of worship as a center of spirituality in the campus environment. This community service is expected to have a positive impact on the comfort of Muslim students and staff in worship, as well as strengthening international cooperation in the social and cultural context.

Abstract

Local culture-based creative economy has become an important pillar in economic development in various regions, including Banyuwangi. With cultural richness such as Gandrung dance, Osing batik, and various cultural festivals, Banyuwangi has great potential to develop a sustainable creative economy. This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and sustainability strategies in developing a local culture-based creative economy. The method used was a seminar involving 50 participants from various groups, including creative economy actors, academics, and local MSMEs. The results of the seminar showed that digitalization and product innovation are the main factors in increasing the competitiveness of the creative economy in Banyuwangi. In addition, there are challenges in the form of a lack of digital literacy, limited access to capital, and the need for protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for local cultural products. To overcome these challenges, the proposed sustainability strategies include increasing training and education for creative economy actors, strengthening digital infrastructure, and diversifying funding through partnerships with the private sector and government. With the implementation of the right strategy, the local culture-based creative economy in Banyuwangi can continue to develop as a leading sector that not only supports regional economic growth but also preserves local cultural heritage.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the ability of teachers to create complete learning administration materials in accordance with the current curriculum, namely Merdeka Belajar. The implementation of community service is carried out using training and mentoring methods. Training is carried out by providing an understanding of the preparation of complete learning administration materials. Mentoring is carried out in the activity of making learning administration. This training is a managerial training for homeroom teachers. After the activity was carried out, there was an increase in understanding of learning administration by 75%. The results of this community service activity are in the form of complete learning administration materials such as syllabus, prota, prosem, and RPS in accordance with the independent learning curriculum. The training participants (homeroom teachers) hope for the continuation of the program to improve teacher competence.

Abstract

The use of preservatives in food and beverages is common in the food industry to extend the shelf life of products. However, the misuse of synthetic preservatives that are not in accordance with the dosage or the use of illegal preservatives is still often found on the market. This socialization activity aims to increase the knowledge of MA Al-Ishlah Jenggawah Jember students regarding the types of preservatives, the risks of their use to health, and the ability to identify preservative content in food and beverage products. The methods used include delivering materials, object-based learning by observing product packaging labels, and interactive discussions. Evaluation was carried out through pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess the increase in student understanding. The results showed a significant increase in participant understanding, both in terms of basic knowledge, product identification, and health impacts due to excessive consumption of preservatives. This activity shows that an interactive educational approach can increase students' awareness in choosing safer and healthier food.

Abstract

Batik, as Indonesia's cultural heritage, has become an important part of people's lives and drives the growth of the batik industry, including MSMEs such as Omah Batik and Ecoprint Nusantria. These MSMEs face major challenges in terms of weak branding, inconsistent visual identity, and less than optimal use of digital marketing, making it difficult to compete in an increasingly competitive market. To overcome this, a consistent branding strategy and maximum use of social media can help improve branding quality and expand market share. Community service activities at Omah Batik and Ecoprint Nusantria involve discussions, site reviews, counseling, consultations, training, and mentoring to improve understanding of visual branding, packaging design, and digital marketing. The results of the community service show that strengthening the branding of Omah Batik and Ecoprint Nusantria can be done by improving a consistent and authentic visual identity, as well as improving social media management to strengthen brand awareness. Improvements are made by focusing on a more attractive logo design and relevant Instagram content.

Abstract

Data science literacy refers to an individual’s ability to understand, process, and utilize data effectively to support informed decision-making. In today’s digital era, where information is abundant, this competency has become essential across various segments of society. Responding to this need, a training program was designed and implemented to enhance the data literacy of members of the Auxano Indonesia Muda Foundation (YAIM). The program was conducted online in November 2024 by a team from the Data Science Study Program at the Institut Teknologi Sains Bandung (ITSB). The training adopted a participatory approach, incorporating conceptual materials, guided discussions, and hands-on data processing exercises. The evaluation results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of basic data science principles and encouraged the application of data-driven approaches within their organizational activities. This initiative is expected to serve as a foundation for fostering a more analytical and structured working culture in social institutions.

Abstract

Finance is the most important aspect of a business activity, both individually and in a company. One of the applied sciences in the field of finance is accounting. Accounting can be applied to the bookkeeping process which is part of the company's financial report data. PT. Pegadaian Regional Office XII Surabaya has currently integrated software and hardware technology to complete various financial tasks. The technology is in the form of hardware such as computers/laptops, as well as software in the form of the internet, Microsoft Excel, STRIVE (trading online application), and SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing). In connection with the implementation of the MBKM internship, students were given the opportunity by PT. Pegadaian to participate in the Finance Department by processing operational debt data to admin costs. The results of this activity have a fairly good impact on students' insights regarding the use of technology in direct work in the field, and PT. Pegadaian obtains adequate financial report data when needed on the periodic audit schedule.
