Jati Emas (Jurnal Aplikasi Teknik dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) is a scientific journal published by the Perkumpulan Dosen Indonesia Semesta (DIS), East Java Regional Board, with E-ISSN 2550-0821. The journal is published quarterly, in March, June, September, and December. Jati Emas aims to serve as a publication platform for scholarly works based on applied engineering and community service activities, particularly for early-career lecturers, students, and authors developing their scientific publication skills. The journal emphasizes author mentoring to ensure articles meet scientific standards, novelty, and publication ethics, and implements a published-in-ready system to accelerate the publication process. Its focus and scope include innovation and application of appropriate technologies, solving real community problems through scientific and engineering approaches, implementation of community service programs with direct impacts on community capacity building and welfare improvement, as well as the development of cross-disciplinary applied methods and practical solutions oriented toward social benefits.

Abstract

PENGANTAR REDAKSI Salam hormat rekan dosen, peneliti dan praktisi pengabdian masyarakat Forum Dosen Indonesia (FDI) merupakan organisasi profesi yang tergolong organisasi kemasyarakatan berbentuk perkumpulan berbasis anggota sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam Bab IV UU RI No. 17 Tahun 2013 tentang Organisasi Kemasyarakatan. Memiliki ruang lingkup seluruh wilayah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI). FDI bersifat independen yang tidak terikat langsung dengan institusi anggotanya dan berbasis teknologi informasi. Organisasi ini dibentuk sebagai upaya para dosen untuk dapat berperan dalam pengembangan pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia. Pengabdian masyarakat merupakan salah satu unsur Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi yang wajib dilakukan oleh dosen di Indonesia. Penerbitan jurnal ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wadah publikasi kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan. Publikasi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan referensi bagi para dosen, peneliti dan praktisi pengabdian masyarakat lainnya dalam melakukan kegiatan yang serupa. Publikasi ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu upaya pemerintah, dalam hal ini Kementrian Riset dan Teknologi, Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristek Dikti), untuk meningkatkan jumlah publikasi ilmiah di Indonesia. Jurnal ini dinamakan Jati Emas (Jurnal Aplikasi Teknik dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) dengan suatu filosofi. Nama ini memiliki suatu harapan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah bentuk pemberdayaan masyarakat agar masyarakat Indonesia dapat menjadi sekokoh kayu jati. Demikian juga dengan para dosen yang mengabdikan dirinya bagi masyarakat sekitar. Tetapi dalam kekokohannya juga tersimpan sifat kemilau emas sebuah prestasi dan kemurnian layaknya sebuah batu mulia. Abstract

Efforts to enhance the quality of public services in Gampong Lam Ara, Aceh Province, were carried out through the development of a village information system (e-Gampong) and training for Gampong officials. Quality public services are considered crucial in evaluating government performance and creating a positive image in the eyes of the community. In an effort to provide more efficient and effective services, e-Gampong was developed to manage population data and other necessary administrative processes for the residents of Gampong Lam Ara. Additionally, intensive training was provided to Gampong officials to enhance their understanding of the smart village concept, Gampong management, Gampong digitization, and the utilization of e-Gampong. Evaluation results indicated that the implementation of the village information system and the training provided successfully improved the understanding and perceptions of Gampong Lam Ara officials and received a positive response from them. These results demonstrate that this approach succeeded in enhancing the quality potency of public services in Gampong Lam Ara and establishing a stronger foundation for realizing a smart village.

Abstract

The actualization of state defense is a means of socializing and internalizing the noble values of the Indonesian nation. However, this process is an obstacle for children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who were born and raised in Malaysia without official documents (illegal), so access to state defense education and local wisdom is very limited. Problems such as low knowledge about awareness of national defense attitudes and a lack of national spirit will emerge. Further problems will arise, feelings of injustice will arise, giving rise to threats to physical, ideological and political, economic, cultural and protection issues. The solution to the partners' problems, namely PMI children at the Johor Bahru Indonesian School (SIJB), is the development of serious game-based learning media about defending the country and local wisdom. The development stages start from analysis, design, and development. The product results will be given to partners as a medium to prepare the spirit of PMI children before they are drawn back to Indonesia. The result of this community service activity is the role playing game serious game product Nusantara Quest: Jiwa Garuda Saga. With this community service activity, the partner party, namely SIJB, can have adequate media to convey state defense material and local wisdom to students continuously.

Abstract

Digital marketing not only makes it easier for MSMEs to display their products to consumers but also expands their customer base. The limited knowledge of business actors, generally adults to old age, causes many businesses to experience setbacks and are forced to stop their business because they cannot compete in marketing. Therefore, training and assistance related to digital marketing need to be carried out to provide solutions for business actors so they can survive. This activity is a collaborative community service program between IBI Kesatuan (IBIK) with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Bogor City MSMEs. The result of this activity is increased insight from business people regarding the use and use of digital platforms and other knowledge related to the requirements for selling products overseas.

Abstract

In 2022, DKI Jakarta produced 7,500 tons of waste per day, which caused the Integrated Waste Management Facility Bantar Gebang to be nearly full. Waste reduction can be achieved by the people of DKI Jakarta through waste separation and independent waste processing. The low awareness of waste separation leads some people to consider it unhelpful and a waste of time. The goal of this activity is to increase knowledge about waste separation and composting through socialization and training in the Penggilingan Sub-district of Cakung, East Jakarta. Additionally, this activity aims to introduce the concept of a circular economy to the people of Penggilingan, where the compost produced can be used as fertilizer for planting rhizomes. The results of this activity show that there was an increase in the awareness and skills of the Penggilingan community from 65.56% (pre-test) to 91.74% (post-test). Furthermore, the community found this training beneficial and enlightening, as indicated by the evaluation results of 3.84/4.00. This demonstrates the importance of training for the community to enhance their awareness and skills.

Abstract

MSMEs play an essential role in the expansion of the Indonesian economy, covering 99% of all business entities. Regarding employment, MSMEs contribute 60.5% to GDP and 96.9% of all national work. Even though they have demonstrated the importance of their role in the national economy, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continue to need help to face various challenges. Perca villages also face challenges related to three aspects, namely organizational management/governance, resources, and marketing. Therefore, the IBIK PkM Team tries to provide the following solutions: 1) conducting training and assisting in developing organizational management policies, 2) training and simulations on designing a financial reporting system based on SAK EMKM, 3) training or training related to entrepreneurship and marketing strategies, 4) sewing training to improve mothers' skills, 5) training, mentoring, and product marketing simulations using technology, design/creation of the Kampung Perca website and marketing models on social media. This service has succeeded in achieving its goals and has brought positive changes to Perca Village, namely the formation of governance guidelines in partner organizations as well as a simple financial management recording system for partner organizations, increased understanding of trustees and administrators regarding asset and capital management, increased entrepreneurial spirit, increased understanding regarding marketing strategy by utilizing digital technology and increasing the expertise of member mothers in sewing clothes, creating the eeb and other digital features (social media) to develop the marketing of partner member business products.

Abstract

MSMEs in Indonesia often face difficulties in implementing accounting practices because they think it is too complicated. Even so, MSME players still get profits but they are not measured accurately. The aim of this community service activity is to provide training in recording simple financial reports to MSMEs. The MSME sector chosen as a place for community service activities is two business actors in the snack food sector located in Tunggara Village, Banjarnegara Regency. The methods used in this competition are preparation, training and implementation. After carrying out the service, an evaluation is carried out by comparing the results before and after the activity. The activity was carried out for five days in August 2023. The final results of this service activity show that MSME players are able to record financial reports simply and can see the profits obtained more accurately each month.

Abstract

This article is a form of community service through the KKN-T program which aims to help develop Pawon Enak MSMEs in Medokan Ayu Village, Rungkut District, Surabaya City. The problem that exists is a lack of understanding regarding the use and utilization of digital marketing. The method used is problem identification, digital marketing assistance, and a product rebranding process. The activities took the form of creating social media and a new logo for UMKM Pawon Enak. It is hoped that the results of the community service program for developing MSMEs through business digitalization can make businesses better and develop.

Abstract

MSMEs play an important role in economic growth which has a direct impact on regional economic development. In Ngadirejo Village, Kepanjenkidul District, Blitar City, there is the UMKM "Paimo Farm" which is a production house for oyster mushrooms. The business development implemented is classified as standard so that the existence of the product is little known. This activity aims to enable the MSME "Paimo Farm" to develop into a bigger business and be widely known outside the city by improving the quality of branding. Implementation of activities uses the assistance’s method. Data collection uses interviews and observations. The activity stages include assistance related to business legality, product branding, digital marketing, creating new innovations, developing product packaging, and making product photos. The results of the activity are the issuance of a business registration number (NIB), product innovation and branding.

Abstract

Toddlers aged 6 – 24 months experience an increase in energy requirements so that complementary foods are needed to provide breast milk. MPASI is provided by the mother and when making it, you need to pay attention to the type, quantity and frequency of giving according to the age of the toddler. Making MPASI at home can use a variety of local food ingredients so that it can meet the nutritional needs of toddlers. One effort to increase mothers' knowledge and skills in making MPASI is by providing nutrition education. Nutrition education was carried out for mothers of toddlers in March - August 2021. In nutrition education, participants were given knowledge about MPASI and examples of MPASI menus using local ingredients, for example Moringa leaves. Moringa leaves contain high levels of protein and iron so they are suitable for making MPASI. Activity evaluation was carried out to determine the increase in knowledge after being given nutrition education regarding MPASI. Based on the results, it is known that 79% of mothers of toddlers have good knowledge after being given nutrition education regarding MPASI. It is hoped that in the future not only knowledge will increase but there will be maternal compliance and the implementation of giving MPASI to toddlers to support optimal growth and development of toddlers.
