Abstract

With many people working in remote places and long working hours, it has an impact on people's consumption patterns. In East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), ready-to-eat food is relatively expensive. The purpose of this activity is to train members of the Bukit Manekat Farmers Group to have the skills to process chicken nuggets and shredded meat, as ready-to-cook/ready-to-eat food for provisions, so that they can save daily cash expenses. Another goal is to diversify family food and it is hoped that in the end this can be used as a family business. The activity methods include socialization, counseling and training. In this activity, chicken nuggets and shredded meat are added with luan bananas, which are typical of Timor Island. Luan bananas are commonly consumed as a substitute for rice. The results of the activity showed an increase in the skills of participants, who previously knew about shredded meat and chicken nuggets products without knowing how to process them, to being able to process them independently. The resulting chicken nuggets and shredded meat have a delicious taste, the physical shape of the nuggets is soft and sandy, while the shredded meat has a fairly smooth texture. The color of the nuggets and shredded meat becomes slightly pale due to the addition of luan bananas.

Abstract

PT XYZ is one of the leading companies in the food and beverage sector in Indonesia. PT XYZ faces challenges in its work environment in the form of irregular placement of goods. This problem can have a negative impact on the company and employees, especially in the field of occupational health and safety. This study aims to design steps that can minimize potential occupational hazards for employees using the 5S method (Seiri/Sort, Seiton/Straighten, Seiso/Shine, Seiketsu/Standardize, and Shitsuke/Sustain). The results of observation and analysis show that the implementation of the 5S method at PT XYZ has not been carried out optimally. Untidy and unclean conditions can cause discomfort for workers in carrying out their activities, and even have the potential to cause work accidents. The proposed improvements that can be considered by PT XYZ on Line 17 are sorted according to the points in the 5S method. From the results of the analysis of the proposed implementation of the 5S method, it is hoped that the company can make improvements as an effort to prevent work accidents.

Abstract

Construction projects naturally involve a high risk of work-related accidents, with potentially serious consequences if they occur. This is especially relevant in developing countries, where the risk of work-related accidents tends to be higher. In general, risk is defined as a situation that has the potential to have a detrimental impact on an individual or organization. Managing occupational safety and health (OHS) risks becomes very important. The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method is used to identify risks by calculating the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. Based on the results of the analysis of work-related accident risks in the building renovation project at PT XYZ, the highest RPN value was obtained, namely 251.6, in the wall and ceiling painting process. The risks identified include eye irritation and poisoning due to paint vapors during the painting process. A fishbone diagram was prepared to identify the main factors that could increase the potential for work-related accidents. The results of this analysis were used to design work-related accident risk control measures in the renovation project at PT XYZ.

Abstract

The presence of plants plays an important role in the availability of water in springs. Plants maintain water balance, even water distribution patterns, and the preservation of water resources, both in quality and quantity. This activity is carried out to develop a strategy for preserving plants around springs. The activity is carried out using the method of socialization, planting species, installing labels on each species, installing notice boards at each spring as an appeal and testing water quality. The results of the activity show that water conservation can be carried out by identifying plants of the water consumed and water conservor types, plants are cultivated and preserved for water conservation, naming species that have conservation value and making positive and persuasive appeals. These appeals can increase public understanding and perception which has an impact on behavior and actions for vegetation and water conservation. Factors that influence the process of plant utilization include the influence of rainfall, soil conditions, the presence of water sources, proximity to residence, and water quality. The strategy for preserving plants around springs can be carried out by conserving plants around springs. Water quality testing needs to be carried out periodically to maintain water quality.

Abstract

Upper trapezius muscle pain is a common musculoskeletal issue caused by poor ergonomic posture. The kitchen crew at Rampogan Matjan Restaurant in Malang City are at high risk of experiencing this pain due to prolonged static postures without adequate stretching. Dynamic stretching is a physiotherapy intervention that improves flexibility, reduces muscle tension, and decreases pain levels. Health education on dynamic stretching was conducted to enhance kitchen crew members' understanding and awareness of workplace ergonomics and proper stretching techniques. The session included education on the causes of upper trapezius pain and a demonstration of dynamic stretching exercises. Evaluations through pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding. Knowledge about the causes of upper trapezius pain increased from 20% to 100%, while knowledge of dynamic stretching rose from 0% to 80%. Additionally, participants reported reduced pain levels after regularly practicing dynamic stretching. These findings indicate that health education on dynamic stretching is effective in increasing workers' awareness of workplace ergonomics and in preventing and reducing upper trapezius pain. Continuous education and the adoption of ergonomic work habits are necessary for long-term benefits.

Abstract

Pesticides are widely used in agriculture to prevent or control pests and diseases that interfere with or damage agricultural crops. However, excessive and inappropriate use of pesticides on agricultural land in Kefamenanu causes pesticide residues to remain on agricultural products and the environment. In this applied study, organophosphate pesticide residues were determined in agricultural soil with the aim of determining their presence and levels in the soil. The gas chromatography method was used. The analysis results obtained showed the detection of pesticide residues of chlorpyrifos, profenofos, and malathion. The retention time of each pesticide residue was 4.56 minutes, 3.68 minutes, and 3.35 minutes, which were in accordance with the retention time of each standard. The levels of pesticides chlorpyrifos, profenofos, and malathion were 1,817 mg/kg, 0.764 mg/kg, and 0.009 mg/kg, respectively. The results of the study showed that the levels of pesticide residues of chlorpyrifos and profenofos in the soil exceeded the maximum residue limit (MRL) that had been set. The malathion residue levels did not exceed the maximum residue limit. Thus, several recommendations are given that need to be implemented immediately.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) levels at Water Treatment Plant 2 (IPA 2) of PT Hanarida Tirta Birawa which uses the Pelayaran River as a source of raw water. The results of the analysis show that the TDS value of raw water tends to be high at 01.00 and 07.00 compared to 13.00. After the processing process, most of the values still meet the quality standards, but there is an increase in TDS. The increase in TDS values after processing can occur due to the use of coagulant doses that may be too high. It is recommended to optimize the water treatment process by reducing the coagulant concentration to increase the efficiency of TDS removal. It is expected that the quality of the processed water can be improved and meet drinking water quality standards better.
