Abstract

Successful packaging design is not only a determinant of a product's success in the market, especially in the beauty industry such as hand cream. The role of aesthetically pleasing and functional packaging design is crucial in influencing consumer purchasing decisions. Therefore, a marketing strategy focused on packaging design becomes key to enhancing product appeal and sales. The strategic use of mockups in the design phase allows designers to test and evaluate concepts digitally without the need for physical prototypes. The advantage of mockups lies in their ability to provide a realistic preview, expediting the design and development process. The aspects of packaging design are critical in creating a visually compelling and convincing experience for consumers. This research, employing a descriptive approach and qualitative methods, aims to explore the appropriate approach in designing hand cream packaging. The hope is that this research serves as a significant initial step in the development of hand cream packaging design, ensuring the product not only meets aesthetic standards but also competes effectively in a competitive market.

Abstract

Visual communication is an effective way to convey messages, especially in the context of delivering messages for the development of children's character. Beneficial visual content can help shape the values and perspectives of children. By controlling the consumed content, we can ensure a positive learning experience for children. Paying attention to the visual content provided to children is a crucial step in creating an environment that supports their positive growth. This journal explains how an animated children's song becomes an educational tool broadcasted through the YouTube platform. By combining careful theoretical and research methodology approaches, this journal explores how animated content on YouTube can serve as an educational tool for children. The results of this study will create an understanding of an easily accessible educational tool for children through the YouTube platform. The discussion of this topic can provide valuable insights to support the effective design of animated content in aiding the developmental stages of children

Abstract

This rapid era of civilization has greatly influenced human life. As time goes by, technology and design keep up with the times. Social media is a form of development of the times and plays a big role in modern society. Nowadays, the controlling media is the internet, where social media refers to platforms on the internet that allow users to share content, interact and connect with other people online. Of course, this requires design to provide a visual experience for the public. Design principles used to create online communication platforms. The main focus is on a comfortable user experience so that it can attract the attention of Instagram users.

Abstract

This study employs Charles Sanders Peirce's triadic semiotic theory analysis and utilizes quantitative regression analysis to investigate the impact of color palette selection in e-books on representing the identity of Bigaran Village in Borobudur. Involving 50 respondents with a valid and reliable questionnaire, the research establishes a significant relationship between color palette selection and the perception of the village's identity. With a correlation coefficient of 0.792 and a determination coefficient of 62.76%, the study indicates a robust contribution in understanding how colors influence users' perception of Bigaran Village's identity. In other words, the brown color palette is considered successful in representing the identity of Bigaran Village, serving as an effective representamen. The main findings reveal a positive and significant association between color palette selection in e-books and the representation of Bigaran Village's identity. Consequently, this research is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the role of color in representing village identity in e-books.

Abstract

In the continuously evolving digital era, preaching media is becoming increasingly vast and dynamic. One medium with significant potential is digitally-based posters. This research aims to identify and analyze the design strategies for digital-based posters as an effective medium for preaching. Through a qualitative approach and design study, the authors explore various design aspects, including the selection of illustrations, typography, and color that influence the success of the preaching message.

Abstract

This research applies the Lean UX approach in redesigning the Mitra Mapan Mulia website with the purpose of enhancing user experience. The Lean UX method is used as a responsive and efficient approach to designing solutions that are more user-focused. Data was collect using interview, literature study and observation methods. The research subjects were state-owned companies and MSMEs. The results showed that there was an improvement in user experience, with performance parameters including navigation time, information clarity, and engagement level. Evaluation results from users involved in prototype testing showed a positive response to design changes, and the use of Lean UX methods provided advantages in accelerating the design process and increasing user satisfaction. This research contributes to the practical understanding and effectiveness of Lean UX in the context of website redesign to achieve the goal of improving user experience

Abstract

This study aims to examine the aesthetic review of the Baitussalam Great Mosque Purwokerto as a case study example in the context of religious architecture. The study was conducted to understand how aesthetic elements in mosque design contribute to the spiritual experience of the worshipers. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach by analyzing visual data and literature on mosque architecture and the concept of Islamic aesthetics. The results of the analysis show that the Great Mosque of Baitussalam Purwokerto incorporates a harmonization of traditional and modern elements in its design. The aesthetic beauty and the use of religious symbols create a calming atmosphere and provide a deep spiritual experience. This research can contribute to the development of an understanding of the importance of aesthetics in religious architecture and its application in the context of mosques in Indonesia.

Abstract

One of the provinces in Indonesia that has a variety of traditional cuisine is West Sumatra. Introducing traditional cuisine to the next generation is one way to maintain culture so that it is not forgotten. This traditional introduction still tends to be passed down through oral traditions from previous generations to the cuisine of their predecessors, usually through communication and people's living habits so that it is less than optimal in the long term. The best way to introduce traditional cuisine to children in the long term is to use reading media. Therefore, a cultural introduction was designed for children aged between 9-12 years in illustration-based book media. The design uses the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluate). The aim of this book is to broaden children's understanding of traditional West Sumatran cuisine.

Abstract

Pondok Roti Da Jon is a small bakery business that has been established since 1986 in Bukittinggi. Pondok Roti Da Jon produces various traditional breads such as Malabar bread and fried bread. The Malabar bread produced by Pondok Roti Da Jon consists of two variants, namely original and pandan, while the fried bread consists of variants filled with coconut and banana. In the production process, Pondok Roti Da Jon is still done manually using improvised tools. Pondok Roti Da Jon's consumers are middle class and come from all walks of life, from children, teenagers, and adults. Currently, Pondok Roti Da Jon products are developing in a small-scale industry that grows by word of mouth, and its sales are distributed to markets around Bukittinggi. This design uses the 4D method consisting of 4 stages, namely the definition, design, development, and dissemination stages. Data collection techniques are primary data based on observations, interviews, and documents and secondary data obtained from books, journals, documents, newspapers, and the internet. The data analysis method is based on SWOT analysis, namely, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The concept used by Pondok Roti Da Jon is "Friendly, Family and Simple". This concept is the keyword for the author in determining the form of visual identity, starting with creating a logo as the main identity of Pondok Roti Da Jon. Apart from that, the author applies the principles of designing a logo in this design process.

Abstract

Nowadays, logos have become a form of choice for conveying communication. The logo has become a center of information for the community, but based on the author's interviews with several people related to the community, they have not optimally understood the meaning of the visual Sampoerna Retail Community logo, therefore the author is interested in researching it. The objectives of the research are 1. Know and describe the visuals of the Sampoerna Retail Community logo. 2. Analyze and describe the visual meaning contained in the Sampoerna Retail Community logo. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. With Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis approach. Through analytical steps, we explore the meaning behind the Sampoerna Retail Community logo: icon, index, symbol and meaning. The results of this research provide an illustration that Sampoerna Retail Community is trying to display its logo by prioritizing the spirit of providing the best service to the community by using icons, indexes, symbols and meanings that are appropriate to display to the public and consumers. The results of the researchers found that there are six visual parts contained in the Sampoerna Retail Community logo. There are six meanings, namely: 1. A place and location for shopping. 2. A woven logogram with the nature of mutual cooperation. 3. The color red symbolizes enthusiasm. 4. The color white symbolizes purity and comfort. 5. SRC text fosters a modern feel. 6. Close means being everywhere, thrifty means affordable prices, friendly means friendly and welcoming. This is what the public needs to know.
