Abstract

The B3 waste sorting process at Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital has been carried out in a structured manner in each service unit with separation according to biohazard type and standards, under the supervision of the Waste Management Team, although there are still inconsistencies in some units that require increased supervision and training. B3 waste storage is carried out in a special room with a maximum time of 2 x 24 hours in accordance with the provisions of the Minister of Health Regulation and Government Regulation, but still requires technical improvements such as ventilation, room temperature, and protective equipment. Waste transportation and destruction are in collaboration with a third party licensed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and are equipped with manifest documents, but staff understanding regarding the documentation flow and handover procedures still needs to be improved through internal socialization.

Abstract

The results of the correlation analysis indicate that the absence of MRI significantly impacts various types of treatment, such as neurology, orthopedics, cancer, and post-surgical rehabilitation. The relationship between healthcare professionals' perceptions and therapeutic effects is strong and statistically significant. However, the results of the linear regression test showed that the model was not statistically significant (p = 0.886), indicating that the relationship cannot be explained linearly and may involve other variables not yet examined in this model. Nevertheless, from a substantive and practical perspective, this study successfully demonstrates that the absence of MRI significantly impacts the quality and continuity of therapy at Sumbawa Regional General Hospital, and emphasizes the importance of procuring this equipment to improve hospital services.

Abstract

Air pollution is becoming an increasingly common environmental problem, driven by increasing human activity, such as transportation, industrial activity, and the use of fossil fuels. This condition can degrade air quality and potentially negatively impact the environment and the health of living things. Therefore, air quality monitoring is necessary to determine the level of pollution in an area. One approach that can be used is biomonitoring using bioindicator organisms. Lichens, or lichens, are organisms resulting from a symbiosis between fungi and algae that are known to be highly sensitive to changes in environmental conditions, particularly air quality. This study aims to examine the use of lichens as biomonitoring in detecting air pollution levels through a literature review method. The results of the study indicate that the presence, diversity, and morphological types of lichens are significantly influenced by air quality conditions in a region. Areas with good air quality generally have a higher lichen diversity than areas with high levels of pollution. Thus, lichens can be used as quite effective and relatively easy-to-implement biological indicators in environmental air quality monitoring.

Abstract

Water pollution is an environmental problem caused by domestic, industrial, and agricultural activities that can degrade water quality and disrupt aquatic ecosystems. One method to assess water quality is biomonitoring using bioindicator organisms. Suckermouth catfish (Hypostomus plecostomus) is known for its high tolerance to polluted environments, making it a potential bioindicator of water pollution. This study aims to analyze the role and mechanism of suckermouth catfish as a bioindicator in aquatic ecosystems. The method used is a literature review based on various national and international scientific sources. The results show that suckermouth catfish respond to pollution through physiological changes, organ damage, behavioral alterations, and the accumulation of heavy metals in their body tissues. These responses indicate that the species can be effectively used to assess water quality.

Abstract

Biomonitoring of water pollution is an important method for assessing environmental quality sustainably. Increased human activities, such as industrial, agricultural, and domestic activities, have led to the introduction of various pollutants into water bodies, disrupting the balance of aquatic ecosystems. One effective approach to biomonitoring is the use of living organisms as bioindicators, including blue-green algae or cyanobacteria. This study aims to analyze the role of cyanobacteria as bioindicators of water pollution based on various scientific literature. The method used is a literature review, analyzing research results from national and international journals descriptively. The results indicate that cyanobacteria are highly sensitive to changes in water quality, particularly increases in nutrient content such as nitrogen and phosphorus, which can trigger eutrophication and blooms. Furthermore, some cyanobacteria species are capable of producing toxic compounds (cyanotoxins) that are harmful to humans and other organisms, making their presence an indicator of environmental health risks. Thus, cyanobacteria can be used as effective, practical, and economical bioindicators in biomonitoring activities to assess the level of pollution and the ecological condition of water bodies.

Abstract

Snails (Gastropods) are aquatic organisms that interact directly with their environment and are sensitive to changes in water quality. Their biological characteristics, such as low mobility and the ability to accumulate pollutants, make them effective bioindicators for detecting water pollution. This study aims to analyze the role of snails as bioindicators of water pollution using a literature review method based on recent national and international scientific references. The results show that snails can indicate water contamination, especially due to heavy metals such as lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and mercury (Hg), through bioaccumulation processes. In addition, changes in the abundance and diversity of snails reflect environmental conditions, where a decrease in population and dominance of certain species indicate polluted waters. Therefore, snails can be effectively used as bioindicators in water pollution biomonitoring. Keywords: bioindicator, snails (Gastropods), soil pollution.

Abstract

Soil pollution is an environmental problem caused by hazardous substances such as heavy metals that can damage ecosystems. One method used to monitor soil conditions is biomonitoring using organisms as bioindicators. Fungi have the potential as bioindicators due to their ability to respond to environmental changes through variations in growth and community diversity. This study aims to determine the role of fungi as bioindicators in soil pollution biomonitoring using a literature review method. Data were collected from various scientific sources and analyzed descriptively. The results show that soil pollution reduces fungal diversity and leads to the dominance of more tolerant species. In addition, fungi can absorb and accumulate heavy metals through biosorption. Therefore, fungi are effective bioindicators for assessing soil pollution levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the diversity of yard plant species in Telaga Segoar Hamlet, Bayan Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency. The method used was direct observation of community yards, then the data obtained were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’). The results showed that there were various types of plants. The diversity index value obtained was H’ = 1.94 which is included in the moderate diversity category. This indicates that the level of distribution of individuals between species is moderate and no species dominates extremely. In addition, this condition reflects the stability of the community which is at a moderate level, so that the yard ecosystem in the area is quite balanced but still requires sustainable management.

Abstract

Andong Hamlet is one of the hamlets located in Dasan Baru Village, Kopang District. This study was conducted using an observational method. Based on the results, it was found that homegarden plants in Andong Hamlet, Dasan Baru Village, Kopang District have a Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’) of 2.08, indicating moderate diversity, moderate distribution, and moderate community stability. This study aims to examine and analyze the diversity of homegarden plant species in Andong Hamlet, Dasan Baru Village, Kopang District, Central Lombok Regency. The method used was direct observation of community homegardens, and the data were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index. The results showed that the diversity index (H’) value of 2.08 falls into the moderate category, with moderate distribution and community stability. The plant species identified consist of food crops, fruit plants, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants, all of which provide various benefits to the local community. Therefore, homegardens play an important role in supporting biodiversity and fulfilling the livelihood needs of the local community.
