Abstract

Bay has an important role for regional development.Bay can be functioned as an “economic installation” such as harbor, marine industry, fishery, and tourism area but in other side it has a lot of problems. Generally, bay is an outlet of river flow areawith the result that sedimentation and pollution are always happened in this area. Based on this situation, bay management should consider the influence of the upland area. Handling bay will be more effectively if it handles together with river flow area comprehensively.That why it is important to use the approach of bay management based on river flow area like Kendari Bay in Kendari City, the Province of Sulawesi Tenggara. Kendari Bay is part of the system of Wanggu River Flow Area. This river flow area covers the District of Konawe Selatan and Kendari City. Kendari Bay has been facing serious problem of water shallow caused by sedimentation.

Abstract

Primary energy used in the production process of PT. Textile Industries is the electric energy and thermal energy. The electrical energy supplied by PT. PLN (Persero) with contractual power of 5540 kVA, and has 5 units with a capacity of 2500 kVA transformer (1 unit), 2,000 kVA (2 units), and 1,250 kVA (2 units). From the analysis of several potential energy saving electrical system supply side can be recorded as follows: An unbalanced load can result in decreased system efficiency by 2%. Optimizing the performance of the capacitor bank regulators so that the work factor to achieve an optimum value (0.9). Losses incurred due to the low power factor can be calculated based on the following approaches: Losses = [1 -{pflow/pfhigh}2] x 100%. Losses in the transformer-1 (2000 kVA) is 479.8 kW, transformer-3 (2000 kVA) is 834.2 kW, transformer-4 (1250 kVA) is 521.4 kW, and transformer-5 (1250 kVA) is 125 kW. Current THD (total harmonic distortion) reduction to < 5%. Replacement tranformator so in accordance with the optimum loading and maximum efficiency from 9000 kVA to 6660 kVA. This replacement will reduce losses as high as zero load is usually equal to 3%.

Abstract

Buntago Zone consists of Buntok, Tanjung and Tanah Grogot is the area each other adjacent and border on the Province Central of Kalimantan, South of Kalimantan and East of Kalimantan. Buntok is “Kawasan Andalan” in Barito Regency, Tanjungis one of the Local Activity Center (PKL) support zone for “Kawasan Andalan” Kandangan in Tabalong Regency, and Tanah Grogot is Capital city of Pasir Regency is Regional Activity Center (PKW) support zone for “Kawasan Andalan: Bonsamtebajam. The development plan of Buntago is expected to become acoordinating tool and also a basic preparation for inter sectoral and inter regional development programs. The usage of this plan is also to regulate interregional potencies in order to optimalize their contribution for the development of communityeconomic welfare. Buntago zone have the prospect to be developed mutual profit together with pre-eminent commodity palm coconut and rubber. The development plan of Buntago zone divided into two scenarios. Stage 1 is the scenario for themanagement of development basics (2006-2010) and stage 2 is the scenario of development growth acceleration (2011-2015). The need of investment projected for funding this development is over 25 billion IDR. The investment needed for funding in the stage 1 is amount of 7 billion IDR, and for the stage 2 is 17 billion IDR. In order to support the development of Buntago, the government is projected to give 80% of total budget needed in the stage 1 and 60% in the stage 2, while therest will be covered by private sector.

Abstract

Tembaga atau karbon sebagai elemen tunggal sudah dikenal sebagai bahan baku yang bagus untuk elektroda EDM (Electric Discharge Machine ) karena tembaga dan karbon mempunyai ketahanan panas yang baik, konduktivitas listrik yang stabil dan kekuatan tarik yang tinggi pada suhu tinggi. Namun lektroda yang dibuat dari kedua material ini mempunyai ketahanan aus rendah. Pada umumnya pembuatan elektroda dibentuk dengan cara pengecoran kemudian diikuti dengan pencanaian, namun sulit untuk menambahkan elemen untuk meningkatkan ketahanan ausnya. Pada penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan karakteristik dari elektroda telah dikembangkan metoda pembentukannya dengan cara metalurgi serbuk. Dengan metalurgi serbuk ,memungkinkan mencampur serbuk karbon dengan tembaga untuk membentuk elektroda padat dengan ketahanan aus yang tinggi. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan proses pembuatan benda uji elektroda dengan membuat variasi beban kompaksi dan suhu sintering pada material yang mempunyai komposisi kimia 95%Cu dan 5%C. Masing masing benda uji diukur berat jenisnya, kekerasan dan suhu lelehnya serta konduktivitas listrik setelah sintering. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan meningkatnya beban kompaksi dan suhu sintering, densitas, kekerasan dan kekuatannya meningkat sehingga ketahanan ausnya juga meningkat. Akhirnya umur operasinya juga meningkat

Abstract

Asam gelugur fruits of Garcinia often used to reduce body weight. Lengkuas and kencur are traditional herbal that potential for antiobesity because they could reduce the level of phospholipids, triglycerides, and cholesterol. The aim of the research was to evaluate the potencies of these herbal as antiobesity by measurement of their water and ethanol extracts capabilities as in vitro inhibitor of pancreatic lipase activity. The water and ethanol extracts of asam gelugur fruits contained saponins and alkaliods, respectively. The water extract of lengkuas rhizomes contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and quinones, while the ethanol extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and steroids. The water extract of kencur rhizomes contained saponins and quinones, while the ethanolextract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, and quinones. The highest inhibitory effect of all extracts was obtained from the ethanol extract of asam gelugur fruits with value of 86.3% at 150 ppm. The highest inhibitory effect of lengkuas extracts was from the ethanol extract at 200 ppm (56.2%). The highestinhibitory effect of kencur was showed by the ethanol extract with the value 37.6% at 300 ppm. These values were higher than the inhibitory effect of the positive control (Xenical®) at 100 ppm (10.6%).

Abstract

In recent years, the competitiveness of Banten Province in the national level tends to decrease. This is indicated by several macroeconomic indicators, i.e economic growth rate, share of investment, share of exports, unemployment rate and real income per capita. To enhance its competitiveness back, Banten Province will develop Special Economic Zones (SEZ). The area is chosen to be the location of SEZ is Bojonegara region. To make Bojonegara as SEZ, it must be pursued various policies, i.e the policy regarding the development of leading industries, the development of a competitive infrastructure, institutional formation of SEZ Bojonegara, human resource development and the promotion and dissemination. With the SEZ Bojonegara, expected some macroeconomic indicators above can be improved, which in turn can improve the competitiveness of Banten Province on the national and international level.

Abstract

Market coal briquette compartment in Indonesia is estimated still big enough,considering kerosene and firewood which was usually used as small industrialand rural household sector fuel progressively scarce and costly if without subsidy.Coal briquette of lignit made of low rank coal without carbonization process and without binder, so that can become alternative fuel which is competitif, safe, efficient and environmental friendliness. Volatile matter content can be decreased by using special design of stove to burn it by fire tongue on the surface of stove to yield completely combustion. Continueing usage of coal briquette as alternative fuel substitution of kerosene and or firewood especially in rural, can be conducted by given system and sustanable supply guarantee, quality improvement, economical charcoal burner device of the environmental friendly, efficiently and routine promotion activities.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich with diversity / germplasm aromatic plants that produce essential oils. Essential oils also called etheric oils, or oil fly. There is a non-oil export commodities are needed in various industries. The many types of Essential Oils require handling a priority scale. The method used is Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) by utilizing the expert judgement. The analysis using criteria Feasibility for SMEs, New Commodities and the New Territories, and sub-criteria Speed of Capital Returns, Market Prospects, Easy Access Resource, Value Added, and Enviroment. Based on criteria and sub-criteria results that essential oils of Jasmine (Melati), Masoyi (Masoyi) and Cubeb (Kemukus) must be prioritized to development.

Abstract

Traditional methods of drying of agricultural products in Indonesian are commonly done by farmers or smallholders. The product has poor quality because of insect infestation, contamination from dirt and filth. A prototype of integrated solar-biomass hybrid tunnel drier was installed and tested at Serpong, Tangerang. In this investigation was used 44 kg tilapia mossambica fish, meanwhile the full capacity of the drier was 150 kg. The fish was initially treated with brine salt and stacked for about 12 hours before drying. The salt treated fish was dried to average moisture contents 13.34% – 14.38% w.b. from 70% w.b. in 29 hours. The fish was completely protected from rain, insects and dust. The combination of solar energy and biomass stove at low solar irradiation was able to increase the drying air 8 oC above ambient temperature.

Abstract

Technique hydroponic system with Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), is one way of vegetable crops that can be done in a narrow and without the use of soil media. Nutrition is done by pouring so that it can carry oxygen (O2) from the air. Generally fertilizer nutrient used in hydroponic technique is AB-mix, this study sought to examine alternative combinations of NPK fertilizer and liquid biokompos on some degree of concentration thatcan provide optimum production growth in crop varieties caisim Tosakan. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments. Data analysis was performed using different test each plant and resumed Duncan Multiple Test Distance otherwise known Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level (F count> F table orP> 0.05) was conducted to determine the extent of the effect is real or not experiment treatmentResearch results indicate that administration of a mixture of NPK fertilizer and liquid fertilizer biokompos An1O1 the treatment can be used as a substitute for AB-mix in the provision of nutrition to the cultivation of varieties caisim Tosakan with hydroponictechniques. An1O1 treatment is the best dose when compared to the control treatment AB-mix, An2O2, and An3O3 the highest production yield component (gross production amounted to 97.67 g / plant and 85.75 g CP / tan).
