Abstract

The implementation of personalized e-learning at the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, especially the Faculty of Islamic Religion, has contributed to this trend of electronic-based learning. The use of e-learning has challenges, namely the need to master digital competence and the responsibilities of lecturers in guiding and directing students during online learning. The analysis used mixed ANOVA to determine the increase in student personalization through e-learning design. the results of the study showed that there were differences in the learning outcomes of the control and experimental groups. The results of the one way ANOVA analysis show differences in personalized learning achievement according to students' learning needs and potential. The more students interact and ask questions outside of class, the more actively they are involved in independent learning from home. This condition is not found in conventional e-learning, which is only carried out modestly by lecturers and students. They create a fun and more communicative learning atmosphere complemented by the reliability of adequate e-learning platform. Highlights: Implementation of personalized e-learning at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo enhances electronic-based learning trend. Challenges include mastering digital competence and lecturer responsibilities in guiding online learning. Mixed ANOVA analysis reveals differing learning outcomes between control and experimental groups. Keywords: Personalized e-learning, Digital competence, Mixed Anova analysis, Independent learning

Abstract

Estuarine morphology is profoundly influenced by dynamic coastal processes, particularly the interplay of longshore currents and wave energy. This study delves into the evolving Selagan Jaya River estuary, characterized by changing mouth morphology attributed to siltation. Longshore currents and wave energy, stemming from coastal waters, play a pivotal role in this transformation. Employing field measurements encompassing current direction, speed, wave height, period, and drone-aided visualizations at five strategic points, a comprehensive analysis was conducted. Quantitative findings reveal wave heights ranging from 0.01 to 1.74 m, wave periods spanning 3 to 11 s, and current speeds oscillating between 0.1 to 1.1 m/s in a westerly direction. The outcomes unequivocally underscore the significant influence of longshore currents and wave energy on estuarine evolution, specifically in shaping the Selagan Jaya Estuary through sedimentation-induced siltation. Abstract

Investigating the Air Rami River Estuary in Mukomuko Regency, this study examines the influence of siltation on mixing characteristics within the estuarine environment. The research aims to discern and characterize mixing patterns in the estuary, employing direct field measurements conducted during both tide and low tide conditions in March 2023. Descriptive and quantitative analyses reveal notable salinity variations, with tidal conditions exhibiting a peak salinity of 10 ppt at a depth of 2 meters, and low tide conditions showing a maximum salinity of 5 ppt at 1.5 meters depth. Temperature variations are also observed, with tide conditions reaching 31.5°C and low tide conditions at 27.2°C. Calculation of the estuary number indicates a perfectly mixed stratified estuary mixing type, characterized by an estuary number magnitude of 0.53. These findings offer insights into estuarine mixing dynamics and their implications for coastal ecosystems. Highlight: Siltation Impact: Investigates the influence of siltation on mixing patterns in the Air Rami River Estuary, Mukomuko Regency. Salinity and Temperature Variations: Describes notable variations in salinity and temperature during tide and low tide conditions, providing insights into estuarine dynamics. Abstract

The Selagan Jaya River Estuary frequently undergoes shape changes, prompting this study to unravel the influence of currents and tides on its morphological evolution. Field measurements encompassing current and tidal data, supplemented by secondary tidal data from TMD and estuary morphology data from USGS, were employed. Findings reveal a mixed semidiurnal tide with a Formzhal value of 0.491 for the Selagan Jaya Estuary. The lowest ebb elevation stands at 0.0117 m, contrasting with the highest flood elevation of 0.6046 m. Flood current velocities range from 0.193 to 1 m/s, while ebb currents span 0.127 to 0.307 m/s. Validation between field and TMD tidal data attains a 98.44% accuracy. Importantly, currents and tides distinctly shape the Selagan Jaya River Estuary; during flood tides, sediment-laden currents ingress, while ebb tides with slower currents hinder sediment egress, underscoring their profound morphological impact. Highlight: Estuarine Morphological Dynamics: Investigates the dynamic nature of the Selagan Jaya River Estuary's shape changes and its underlying processes. Tidal and Current Influence: Unravels the intricate interplay between currents and tides, revealing their significant role in shaping the estuarine morphology. Formzhal Analysis: Introduces the Formzhal value as a key indicator of the estuary's tidal characteristics and their implications for morphological evolution.
