Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive multiliteracy-based learning media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) that is suitable for the characteristics of 21st century students. The background of this study is the need for an adaptive learning approach to technological developments, as well as the ability to engage in multiple literacies, including digital, visual, media, and critical literacy. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) model by Borg & Gall, which consists of ten stages, modified into seven stages for efficiency. The test subjects consisted of fifth-grade elementary school students and IRE teachers. The developed media is an interactive web-based application that combines narrative text, videos, animations, digital quizzes, and a simple discussion forum. Validation by subject matter and media experts indicated that the product is highly feasible with an average score of 90.5%. Limited testing showed a significant increase in students' interest in learning and active engagement in the learning process. In addition, students demonstrated better ability in understanding PAI material through the multiliteracy approach provided in the media. Teachers' responses to the use of the media were also positive, particularly in terms of flexibility, visual appeal, and the effectiveness of conveying Islamic values. The implications of this study indicate that the integration of multiliteracy in interactive learning media can address the challenges of PAI learning in the digital era. The development of similar media is recommended for wider application, with content adaptation according to educational levels and student characteristics. This study contributes to the development of technology-based learning innovations that support the formation of students' religious character through contextual, communicative, and transformative approaches.

Abstract

This research aimed to enhance students motivation and learning engagement in IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) for fifth-grade students at SDN Pakis 1 Surabaya. The study was prompted by the observed low levels of student motivation and engagement in IPAS learning. To address this, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model was implemented, integrating technology in the form of videos and the ZEP game. This classroom action research utilized both qualitative and quantitative approaches, with fifth-grade students from SDN Pakis 1 Surabaya serving as subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and learning engagement questionnaires. The findings indicate a significant increase in student motivation and learning engagement after the integration of the PBL model with videos and the ZEP game. Improved student motivation was evidenced by their enthusiasm and active participation in group discussions and problem-solving. Enhanced learning engagement was also observed through students' initiative in asking questions, expressing opinions, and actively participating in learning activities. This suggests that combining the PBL model with technology integration can be an effective strategy for creating more engaging and meaningful IPAS learning experiences

Abstract

Based on interviews and observations that have been made to teachers and third grade students of SDN Pakis 1 Surabaya, there are problems found in learning activities in the form of a lack of variety of learning activities which have an impact on student learning outcomes below the predetermined KKTP. The purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in 2 research cycles with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The increase in student learning outcomes in cycle I was 64.28% and experienced a significant increase in cycle II of 89.285.

Abstract

The low ability of students to understand the concept of presenting data in the form of bar charts is a problem that is often found in elementary schools. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach in improving the learning outcomes of grade V students on the presentation of data in the form of bar charts. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with a design that includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were grade V students with a total of 28 students. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome tests, student activity observations, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in students' ability to understand the concept of presenting data with bar charts after the implementation of the CRT approach. In the pre-cycle stage, the completeness of learning outcomes only reached 46%. After the implementation of CRT, in cycle I, the learning completeness was 75%, and in cycle II it reached 89%. The Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach proved to be effective in improving student learning outcomes because it had reached the predetermined indicators, namely more than 75% of student scores reached the KKM score or >75%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the concept and strategy of character education integration and learning digitalisation within the framework of adaptive curriculum management. The transformation of digital technology has brought changes to the world of education, requiring a flexible curriculum that is able to adapt to the needs and characteristics of students. The integration of character education is very important in shaping a generation that is not only intellectually and digitally competent, but also has strong moral values. Through a systematic literature review, this study identifies the main challenges in implementation, such as the digital divide, low digital literacy, and lack of multi-stakeholder collaboration. The proposed strategies include strengthening digital literacy, teacher training, collaboration between schools, families, and communities, and developing project-based curricula that emphasise character values. The findings indicate that adaptive curriculum management with the integration of character education and digitalisation of learning can enhance the relevance, quality, and competitiveness of education in the global era. This study recommends the need for educational policies that support curriculum innovation, improve educator competencies, and ensure equitable access to technology to create inclusive and sustainable education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of visionary leadership of school principals in the implementation of modern education management through a literature review approach. In the era of globalisation and technological advancement, school principals are required to have a clear vision, be innovative, and be able to inspire the entire school community in facing the challenges of 21st-century education. This study identifies that visionary school principals play a crucial role in formulating the school's vision and mission, building a collaborative organisational culture, promoting innovative learning, and optimising resource management. Visionary leadership also impacts the improvement of teacher professionalism, parent participation, and community involvement in supporting school programmes. However, the success of modern educational management implementation is greatly influenced by resource support, active participation of the entire school community, and the principal's ability to overcome challenges of change. The findings of this study confirm that visionary leadership of school principals is the key to creating adaptive, innovative, and competitive schools in the modern era of education.

Abstract

This study aims to map the research landscape regarding the factors that affect students' mathematical reasoning skills through bibliometric analysis. Data on scientific publications indexed in Google Scholar in the range of 2020 to 2025 were analyzed using the Publish or Perish application for data collection and VOSViewer for network visualization and keyword clusters. A total of 481 documents were identified and analyzed to identify publication trends, research focuses, and relationships between concepts. The results show a significant increase in the volume of publications related to this topic during the period, with the main focus of the research on "mathematical reasoning skills" and "mathematical learning". Network visualization analysis identified seven main clusters representing different research areas. In addition, this study highlights the lack of research that explicitly raises the topic of "critical thinking" in the context.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the implementation of the ummi method in memorising the Qur'an at SD Muhammadiyah Ketapang. This study employed a qualitative approach and descriptive method. To collect data, the researcher conducted interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that 1) the Qur'an surah memorised by second-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Ketapang consist of five short surah, namely: Q.s. An-Nasr, Q.s. Al-Kafirun, Q.s. Al-Kautsar, Q.s. Al-Ma'un, and Q.s. Al-Quraisy. Meanwhile, the Qur'an surah memorised by third-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Ketapang are Q.s. Al-Fiil, Q.s. Al-Humazah, Q.s. Al-Asr, Q.s. At-Takastur, and Q.s. Al-Qari'ah. 2) The steps for implementing the ummi method in learning to memorise the Qur'an at SD Muhammdiyah Ketapang are, first getting used to it, second the opening, which consists of: greeting, greeting the students, Islamic songs and reading the prayer for learning, followed by the main activity consisting of recitation together using the Ummi method. After that, one of the students is asked to lead the recitation, provided that he or she has memorised all the compulsory surahs, which are then followed by his or her classmates. Third, the activity is closed by reciting the asmaul husna together and the kafaratul majlis prayer. 3) Challenges in implementing the Ummi method in Quran memorisation at SD Muhammadiyah Ketapang include a lack of collaboration among teachers in applying the Ummi method, as well as low motivation among teachers to learn the method due to various commitments and a lack of understanding among students regarding tajwid rules and familiarity with the Arabic alphabet.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Christian education in shaping student discipline through theological and pedagogical approaches. Disciplinary issues in educational settings, especially Christian schools, have become a serious concern in the modern era characterized by limitless freedom and value relativism. Using a qualitative method through literature study, this research identifies that Christian education provides a strong theological foundation for viewing discipline as an expression of love and a tool for character formation. Teachers play a strategic role as models and mentors of discipline, not merely as instructors but as spiritual shepherds. Disciplinary strategies include spiritual habits, the implementation of love-based rules, and learning communities that instill Gospel values. The findings reveal that Christian educational principles remain relevant and effective in addressing the crisis of student discipline in the digital and postmodern age. Thus, Christian education functions not only as an instructional system but also as a transformative means for shaping holistic and resilient character amidst rapid cultural changes.

Abstract

This article discusses the influence of digital technology on children's social skills in everyday life. In an increasingly digital era, children are increasingly familiar with various digital devices and platforms that bring both positive impacts and challenges to their social development. Digital technology helps children develop digital literacy, creativity, language skills and expand their social networks. However, excessive use without supervision can hinder face-to-face interactions, reduce the ability to manage emotions, and affect children's moral development. Therefore, the role of parents and educators is crucial in regulating the balanced use of technology and providing appropriate guidance. With the right approach, digital technology can be a tool that supports children's optimal social development, so that they can become a generation that is digitally proficient as well as socially and emotionally strong.
