Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of poetry writing skills in third-grade students at SDN 2 Pekanbaru using the Think, Talk, Write (TTW) cooperative learning model. Poetry writing skills are considered difficult as they require the ability to find and use appropriate words and master vocabulary. Initial data showed that 88.24% of students had not achieved the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) score of 80 in poetry writing, and students were less enthusiastic in learning. This classroom action research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles. In Cycle I, the completion percentage increased to 64.71%. A significant improvement was observed in Cycle II, where 100% of students achieved classical completeness, although individual completeness did not always reach 100%. This success was supported by the teacher's mastery of the TTW model, the teacher's ability to create a safe and competitive learning environment, effective time management, and a good emotional connection between the teacher and students. Thus, the TTW learning model proved effective in improving students' poetry writing skills in Elementary School.

Abstract

Social Emotional Learning (PSE) plays an important role in character building and student academic success. The CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) model introduces five core competencies that are essential in the social-emotional development of learners. This article aims to analyze the implementation of CASEL framework-based social-emotional learning at the primary school level and review its relevance in improving classroom climate and learning achievement. Using a literature review approach, this article finds that the systematic and contextual implementation of CASEL is able to improve students' empathy, self-management and social relationship skills. Teachers play a central role as facilitators in integrating PSE into daily learning.

Abstract

Social Emotional Learning (ESL) is a strategic approach in education that aims to shape students who are not only academically intelligent, but also socially and emotionally mature. This literature review aims to examine the concept, position, implementation, challenges, and strategies for strengthening ESL in the context of the Indonesian curriculum, especially the 2013 Curriculum and the Independent Curriculum. The results of the study indicate that social emotional values have been integrated into the curriculum documents, especially through strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. However, implementation in the field still faces challenges such as limited teacher training, policy discontinuity, and disparities between regions. Therefore, an integrative strategy in thematic learning, ongoing teacher training, and cross-sector collaboration are the keys to strengthening ESL in the Indonesian education system. This study provides important implications both theoretically and practically in the development of the national curriculum and character education.

Abstract

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is increasingly recognized as a critical element in 21st-century education, focusing on non-cognitive competencies such as empathy, collaboration, and self-regulation. This literature-based study explores effective strategies for integrating SEL into educational practices. The findings highlight several key approaches, including thematic and project-based learning, fostering a positive school culture, ongoing teacher training, and the use of digital tools. These strategies not only support students’ emotional and social development but also enhance overall academic performance. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for comprehensive educational policies and professional development to ensure consistent and sustainable SEL implementation.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low speaking ability of children aged 5-6 years at Dwi Karya Tanjung Kindergarten, Koto Kampar Hulu District. Therefore, researchers determined alternatives to improve the speaking skills of children aged 5-6 years at Dwi Karya Tanjung Kindergarten, Koto Kampar Hulu District. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The data collection instrument used by researchers is the observation sheet. Data analysis in this classroom action research uses quantitative techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that: The results of increasing the use of the role-playing method were proven to be able to improve the speaking skills of children aged 5-6 years at Dwi Karya Tanjung Kindergarten. in cycle I continued to increase in cycle II.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of fine motor development among children in Group B at Masmur Kindergarten, located in Teratak Buluh, Kampar Regency. The researchers considered this to be an important issue that needed to be addressed immediately, as children's fine motor skills affect other aspects of their development. Fine motor skills are movements that involve only certain parts of the body and are performed by small muscles, such as the ability to use the fingers and wrist movements. The activity used in this study was beading, which is defined as a technique of attaching various elements into a single frame to produce a new work of art. The research method applied is the classroom action research method, which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings or face-to-face sessions. while there are four stages in each cycle, including: the preparation stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. The data collection techniques used are observation and documentation, while the data analysis techniques are quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that collage activities were proven to improve the fine motor skills of children in group B at Masmur Teratak Buluh Kindergarten. This was evident from the learning achievements of students before the cycle, where 7 children were below the standard, 0 children in cycle I, and 0 children in cycle II. while MB pre-cycle was 2 children, cycle I became 4 children and cycle II became 0 children. For BSH pre-cycle, there were 2 children, cycle I became 6 children and cycle II became 1 child. Finally, the BSB score in the pre-cycle was 0 children, cycle I became 1 child and cycle II became 10 children. The conclusion shows that collage activities can improve children's fine motor skills.

Abstract

Low learning motivation among students with visual impairments is often associated with limited access to learning materials that match their sensory characteristics. This study employed a literature review method to examine published scholarly articles related to the use of digital audiobook-based learning media in the educational process. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar using the keywords “digital talking book,” “audiobook,” “learning motivation,” “visual impairment,” and “inclusive education,” and was expanded by utilizing the “related articles” feature. The selected articles were limited to publications from 2015–2025 and consisted of peer-reviewed academic journal articles, resulting in 14 relevant studies that met the research criteria. The selected articles were further analyzed using a meta-synthesis approach to identify patterns of findings and trends regarding the impact of digital audiobook-based media on the learning motivation of students with visual impairments. The results indicate that the use of digital audio media, including audiobooks and Digital Talking Books (DTB), can enhance students’ learning motivation by increasing participation, improving material retention, and fostering deeper conceptual understanding. Presenting learning materials in audio format also facilitates easier access to information, provides a more flexible and independent learning experience, and aligns with the auditory learning needs of students with visual impairments. However, the implementation of such media still faces several challenges, including limitations in technological infrastructure and the uneven distribution of digital learning content. Overall, digital audiobook-based media demonstrate strong potential as an inclusive learning tool for improving the learning motivation of students with visual impairments.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the digital age has brought about significant changes in various aspects of life, including in the field of education. Islamic Religious Education (IRE), as a subject that plays a role in shaping the character and spiritual values of students, also faces various challenges due to the rapid development of technology and social media. This article aims to analyse the various issues arising in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the digital and social media era. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach, analysing various books, academic journals, and relevant literature sources pertaining to the research theme. The findings indicate that the digital age presents significant opportunities for the development of Islamic Religious Education through the use of technology as an innovative and interactive learning medium. However, various issues have emerged, such as low digital literacy among students, the dissemination of unverified religious information, a decline in control over social media use, and challenges for teachers in integrating Islamic values with technological advancements. Therefore, adaptive learning strategies are required, alongside the strengthening of digital literacy and moral values, to ensure that Islamic religious education continues to shape students of noble character who are wise in their use of technology in the digital age.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement in language skills of children aged 5-6 years, Adiba Islamic School Kindergarten, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District. This research is motivated by the lack of variety in learning and there are still many children who have not been able to reach language proficiency indicators. This research is classroom action research (CAR) The subjects of this research were 15 children in the arrahim class at Adiba Islamic School Kindergarten, while the object of this research is chain message games and the development of language skills. This research was carried out in 2 cycles, each cycle holding 2 meetings. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation and documentation. Based on the results of research before the action, in the not yet developing category there were 7 children (46.6%), in the beginning to develop category there were 7 children (46.6%), in the developing according to expectations category there was 1 child (6.6%). In cycle II, children's language abilities experienced a significant increase. There are no more children in the underdeveloped category. 5 children (33.3%) were in the starting to develop category, 3 children (20%) were in the developing as expected category, and there were 7 children (46.6%) in the very well developing category. Thus, it can be concluded that the chain message game can improve the language skills of kindergarten children at Adiba Islamic School, Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the early reading skills of 5- to 6-year-old children at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal II Kindergarten in Bangkinang City through the use of written text on snack packaging. The main issues identified were the children’s limited ability to recognize letter shapes and sounds, as well as their lack of interest in conventional learning materials. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 19 children in Group B. The results showed a significant improvement: in the pre-intervention phase, the classical achievement rate was only 16%–63% (Not Yet Developed category). After the intervention in Cycle I, the children’s skills began to improve but were not yet optimal. In Cycle II, the success rate reached 94.73%, with 17 children in the Very Well Developed (VWD) category. The conclusion of this study is that the use of text-based media on snack food packaging effectively improves children’s early reading skills through visually appealing stimuli that are familiar to their daily lives.
