Abstract

In the exploration titled "Media as the Alchemist of Societal Perception: Navigating the Complex Maze of Influence, Responsibility, and Narrative Alchemy," the study delved into the intricate dynamics of media's role as a transformative force. The research in the past tense unfolded against the backdrop of an evolving media landscape, where mass media transcended its conventional role to become a modern alchemist. The investigation aimed to unravel the multifaceted dimensions of media's influence, scrutinizing its ethical responsibilities and engaging with the alchemy of narrative construction. As media, akin to an alchemist, wielded the tools of linguistic and visual elements, the study explored how it actively shaped societal consciousness. The journey through this exploration revealed that media, in its contemporary incarnation, went beyond being a mere disseminator of information. It emerged as an active participant in crafting narratives that influenced collective perceptions, navigating a labyrinth where the boundaries between reality and perception blurred. The study scrutinized the ethical considerations accompanying media's transformative role, delving into the delicate balance between informative storytelling and potential narrative manipulation. Simultaneously, it focused on the alchemy of narrative construction, unraveling how media transformed raw information into narratives resonating with the collective consciousness. This past-tense reflection encapsulates the nuanced exploration undertaken, shedding light on the transformative power of media in shaping societal perceptions and leaving the groundwork for a deeper understanding of the intricate dynamics that define its role as a modern alchemist

Abstract

Since 2021, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia has implemented an independent curriculum for all levels of education in stages. The policy for implementing this curriculum, actually not much has changed from the previous curriculum (2013 curriculum). However, specifically Vocational High Schools (SMK) through the Directorate General of Vocational Education are directed at implementing the project-based learning model (PjBL) or teaching factory (tefa) in implementing the accelerated curriculum after Covid-19. Implementing this project-based learning model requires the right strategy in its implementation, plandaoresh is one of them. The aim of this study is to find out the comparison of learning outcomes for Technical Drawing subjects that apply the plandoresh strategy with other strategies. The research subjects were two groups of class XII students with machining engineering skills competency, each numbering 36 students. The research results show a significant comparison between the implementation of the plandoresh strategy and the non-plandoresh strategy with a significance figure of α < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.005) and t count > t table (5.839 > 2.021).

Abstract

There are many advantages and benefits of internships for students. One of the advantages of an internship is that it broadens your knowledge regarding the world of work. Various kinds of insights, starting from the scope of duties and responsibilities of work, teamwork, adding new knowledge and expertise. However, unfortunately, there are still many students who do not have adequate soft skills during internships. This is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Phenomenology is a form of qualitative research that focuses on the study of an individual’s lived experiences. So, we can learn from the experiences of others. This research is aimed at answering the question of how universities equip their students with soft skills before taking part in internships and what complaints there are from companies regarding the quality of students who take part in internships at their companies. Data collection was carried out using semi- structured interviews to HRD managers and university students who have taken internship program. This research proves that there are still many students who do not have soft skills consisting of intrapersonal and interpersonal communication, so they receive many complaints from companies or government institutions. For this reason, strengthening students' soft skills needs to be optimized during pre- internship training.

Abstract

With the rapid growth of vehicles, improving road safety has become a necessity. Ultrasonic sensors provide an effective and efficient solution for measuring distance on vehicles, which can be implemented to improve traffic safety. Therefore, we need a system that can detect the distance between vehicles to make it safer. One way to detect a vehicle's safe distance is to use an ultrasonic sensor. An ultrasonic sensor is a tool that can detect a safe distance to a vehicle. This system is designed as an integration between Arduino Uno, ultrasonic sensors, and data processing algorithms. The Arduino Uno program was developed to control ultrasonic sensors, read distance data, and send alerts if potential risks are found. The implementation of the ultrasonic sensor on the Arduino Uno succeeded in proving its ability to detect safe distances between vehicles with high accuracy. By using the right algorithm, the system can provide early warning when a potential risk of collision is detected. Test results show a fast and reliable response from the system This research confirms the effectiveness of Arduino Uno-based ultrasonic sensors in improving traffic safety by detecting safe distances between vehicles.

Abstract

Bonsai plants, with their distinctive beauty and aesthetic value, have become an attraction for plant lovers in Indonesia. However, proper maintenance, especially watering, can be a challenge for many bonsai owners. In an effort to facilitate more efficient and effective maintenance, this research aims to develop an affordable and accessible soil moisture sensor-based automatic watering system. The research method includes an in-depth literature review of existing soil moisture sensor technologies and the growth characteristics of bonsai plants. Next, we designed and built a prototype watering system that can monitor soil moisture levels and automatically water bonsai plants according to their needs. Initial test results show that the system is able to maintain optimal soil conditions for bonsai plant growth. The system is also equipped with programming capabilities that allow users to customize the watering schedule according to their personal preferences. This research aims to provide a practical solution for bonsai plant lovers in Indonesia who want to maintain proper soil conditions for the growth of their plants, while minimizing the costs required for an automated watering system. This paper is expected to make a positive contribution to the maintenance of bonsai plants and serve as a guide for those interested in developing similar systems in the context of urban agriculture in Indonesia.
