Abstract

Natural disasters are events that arise due to careless human actions. Natural disasters such as floods cause a lot of material or psychological losses. Floods often cause people to lose their homes, livelihoods, and even cause trauma due to the loss of family members. So we must prevent floods from occurring in order to achieve a safe and peaceful life. In this research, a Sound Sensor was used as a detection tool combined with the Arduino Water Level System so that the movement of water flow can be seen, especially in areas that are prone to flooding. The results of this research showed that there was a low scale with a small sound on the red light, then there was a medium scale with a medium sound on the green light, and also a high scale with a large sound on the blue light.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of compensation and work discipline on employee performance, with work motivation serving as a mediating variable, in the context of a public judicial institution. Employee performance in the public sector plays a critical role in ensuring service quality, institutional accountability, and the effective implementation of good governance principles. However, empirical evidence focusing on judicial institutions remains limited. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from civil servants employed at the Bangil District Court, Indonesia, through structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The findings indicate that compensation and work discipline have a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Furthermore, compensation, work discipline, and work motivation each have a direct and significant impact on employee performance. The mediation analysis reveals that work motivation partially mediates the relationship between compensation and employee performance, as well as between work discipline and employee performance. These results confirm that motivation serves as a critical psychological mechanism through which organizational practices influence performance outcomes. This study contributes to the literature on human resource management in the public sector by providing empirical evidence from the judicial environment, which has been relatively underexplored. Practically, the findings suggest that judicial institutions should strengthen fair compensation systems and consistently enforce work discipline to enhance employee motivation and performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of Financial Reporting Quality (FRQ) within the unique institutional context of Indonesian District Courts, focusing on the mediating role of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR). While prior public sector accounting literature offers inconsistent findings regarding the direct effects of Human Capital (proxied by Financial Management Policy, X1) and Financial Applications (X2) on FRQ, this research proposes that ICFR (Y1) functions as the critical mechanism translating these resources into reliable reporting outcomes (Y2). Employing a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 175 financial management officers across District Courts in East Java, institutions characterized by centralized governance and standardized financial systems (e.g., SAKTI, E-Rekon). Path analysis results reveal that Financial Applications exert a stronger influence on ICFR than Financial Management Policy. Crucially, ICFR emerged as the most significant predictor of FRQ. The mediation analysis confirms that ICFR partially mediates the X1-Y2 relationship and dominantly mediates the X2-Y2 relationship. This finding underscores the shift toward system-dependent controls in centralized public institutions, where technological infrastructure effectively institutionalizes internal controls. The study extends public sector accounting theory by integrating Agency Theory, Human Capital Theory, and the Technology Acceptance Model within a unified mediation framework, offering practical insights for strengthening governance and internal control systems within the judiciary to achieve high-quality financial reporting and unqualified audit opinions

Abstract

This research began with the statement of Vice Presidential Candidate number one during the first Vice Presidential Candidate debate. This research aims to analyze the possibilities of development plans for 40 cities whether they are realistically implemented or not. If it is realistic then it can be categorized as a plan and if it is not realistic the tomb can be categorized as mere discourse. This research is qualitative research with an explanatory approach. The data used in this research is secondary data that researchers obtained from trusted websites, scientific journals, books and other reliable sources. The analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis techniques by describing whether the development policies of 40 cities equivalent to Jakarta are realistic or no. These data were analyzed using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data reflection, data analysis, and drawing conclusions (Abdurahman, 2016). This researcher analyzed the development intentions of 40 cities equivalent to Ajarta from two aspects, namely HDI and GRDP.

Abstract

This study delves into the intricate relationship between law and neuroethics, critically examining the evolving paradigm of justice in light of advancements in neurosciences and decision-making technologies. As neuroscientific technologies provide unprecedented insights into the human mind, integrating neuroscientific evidence into legal frameworks poses challenges and opportunities. Critiquing current approaches highlights limitations within existing legal systems and ethical considerations, necessitating careful reforms and adaptations. Ethical critiques by scholars and ethicists prompt reevaluating the intersection between law and neuroethics. Proposed reforms include strategies for integrating neuroethics into legal frameworks and legislative changes to address emerging ethical complexities. The discussion extends to critical areas for future research, emphasizing the need to identify unresolved questions and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. The implications for the future underscore a shift towards a legal landscape that prioritizes ethical considerations in using neuroscientific evidence.
