Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the death penalty in reducing the number of narcotics crimes in Indonesia. The approach used is juridical-normative and empirical, by examining secondary data from legal documents and narcotics crime statistics, as well as primary data through interviews with legal experts and law enforcement officials. The analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively to evaluate the impact of the death penalty on trends in narcotics crimes as well as other factors that influence the increase or decrease in narcotics cases. The research results show that even though the death penalty is applied to narcotics crime perpetrators, the number of narcotics cases has continued to increase in recent years. Other factors such as weak law enforcement, the continuity of narcotics networks, and the socio-economic conditions of perpetrators also contribute to the high crime rate. In addition, the implementation of the death penalty in Indonesia faces various legal, social and political obstacles, and has received criticism from the international community. Thus, this research concludes that the death penalty has not been proven effective as the main instrument in eradicating narcotics crimes. Therefore, a more comprehensive approach is needed, such as strengthening the legal system, rehabilitation-based prevention strategies, and international cooperation in fighting narcotics networks more effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

Physical fitness and mental health are important aspects in the development of high school students. Physical activity, including sport, plays a role in improving students' physical and psychological well-being. Swimming as a form of exercise that involves the whole body has been proven to provide various health benefits. This study aims to analyze the effect of extracurricular swimming programs on the physical fitness and mental health of secondary school students through a systematic literature review. The study results showed that the swimming program significantly improved students' physical fitness by increasing cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, flexibility, and body coordination, as well as reducing the risk of injury compared to land-based sports. From a mental health aspect, swimming contributes to reducing stress, anxiety and depression through the release of endorphins and the relaxing effects produced by water activities. Apart from that, swimming also helps increase self-confidence, build social interactions, and supports a healthy lifestyle in the long term. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of support from schools and related parties in implementing an effective swimming extracurricular program. Providing adequate facilities, competent coaches, and integration with the physical education curriculum are strategic steps to maximize the benefits of swimming for students. Thus, extracurricular swimming programs can be one solution in improving the overall physical fitness and mental health of high school students.

Abstract

In the digital era, the spread of hoaxes or fake news has become an increasingly complex and worrying phenomenon. Hoaxes are not just misinformation, but have a systematic structure and pattern of dissemination, fuelled by political and economic gain, or simply provocation. Social media and digital platforms play a major role as catalysts for the spread of hoaxes due to their characteristics of wide reach, speed of dissemination, and low filtering of truthful information. Mechanisms such as echo chambers and digital platform algorithms amplify the effects of hoaxes, increasing the risk for individuals with low digital literacy. To counter the negative impact of hoaxes, strategic measures are needed such as improving digital literacy, strengthening education on information verification, and developing effective regulations in the digital world. Collaboration between the government, digital platforms and the public is essential to address the threat posed by hoaxes, as well as to shape a more critical and informed society.

Abstract

This article analyses the dynamics of changes to the Health Law from a legal and social perspective, focusing on the triggering factors, implementation, and impact on society. Changes in health regulations are often influenced by technological developments, demographic changes, and demands for improved access and quality of health services. From a social perspective, public awareness of health rights and pressure from advocacy groups play an important role in shaping more inclusive regulations. While these changes aim to respond to complex health challenges, challenges such as resistance to change, implementation gaps, and potential conflicts of interest remain. Thus, transparent and collaborative measures are needed in the legislative process to ensure that changes to the Health Law are not only relevant, but also effective in achieving the expected social and legal goals.

Abstract

The handling of medical disputes in Indonesia often results in prolonged conflict through litigation processes that drain the time, money and emotions of the parties involved. A more humane and constructive alternative is the implementation of a restorative approach that focuses on dialogue, rapprochement, and reaching a mutual agreement. This approach aims to create a win-win solution between patients, medical personnel, and healthcare institutions. This article discusses the potential and challenges of implementing restorative approaches in the context of medical dispute resolution in Indonesia. It is found that while this approach offers many benefits, such as reducing the burden on the judicial system and improving relationships between disputing parties, its implementation is hampered by the lack of specific regulations, lack of socialisation, and limited professional mediators. Support from the government, health institutions, and efforts to change the culture of litigation among the community are key to the success of implementing this approach. In conclusion, with the strengthening of regulations and training of mediators, the restorative approach has great potential to increase public trust in Indonesia's health system and provide a fairer and more dignified dispute resolution.

Abstract

Electronic government (e-Government) is an important strategy in improving governance, especially in developing countries. This study analyses the relationship between e-Government implementation and increased transparency in government. Results show that e-Government helps to expand access to information, reduce corruption, and improve the efficiency of public services. However, implementation in developing countries faces various challenges, such as limited technological infrastructure, low digital literacy, and resistance to traditional bureaucratic culture. Political factors also affect the success of e-Government implementation. It takes a shared commitment and cross-sector collaboration to overcome these obstacles. With infrastructure strengthening, public education, and institutional support, developing countries can maximise the benefits of e-Government in creating more transparent and accountable governance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the comparison between the Indonesian Health Law and international health regulations, especially those issued by the World Health Organization (WHO). The literature review shows that the Indonesian Health Law is oriented towards the fulfilment of public health rights aligned with national development priorities, while international regulations prioritise global standards and universal, evidence-based approaches. This difference creates challenges in implementation, especially related to limited resources and infrastructure at the national level. Nevertheless, opportunities for integration through adaptation of local policies with international guidelines can provide significant benefits in improving the quality of health services and response to global health threats. This research highlights the importance of collaboration between national policies and global standards to strengthen the health system in Indonesia.

Abstract

Dyslexia is a common yet complex learning disorder that interferes with an individual’s ability to read and write fluently, despite adequate intelligence and access to education. This study employs a qualitative literature review to examine dyslexia through a psycholinguistic lens, focusing on how deficits in phonological processing, lexical access, and working memory contribute to the core challenges in reading and writing. Common manifestations—including substitution, omission, and inversion errors in reading, as well as spelling difficulties, morphological simplification, and disorganized sentence structure in writing—are discussed in relation to underlying cognitive mechanisms. The review also explores the multifactorial causes of dyslexia, emphasizing the roles of genetic, neurobiological, cognitive, and environmental factors. In addressing intervention strategies, the study highlights structured literacy approaches, the use of assistive technologies, and the importance of teacher training and policy support. By synthesizing current research, this review underscores the need for early identification and individualized educational responses. Ultimately, it contributes to a more holistic understanding of dyslexia and supports the development of inclusive practices that respond to the diverse needs of dyslexic learners.

Abstract

Healthcare dispute resolution is a complex issue that often involves tensions between patients, medical personnel and healthcare institutions. Restorative processes have emerged as an alternative approach that focuses on restoring relationships and achieving fair solutions through dialogue and mediation. In the context of healthcare disputes, this method offers a more humane solution than the more confrontational approach of litigation. This article discusses the dynamics of dispute resolution through restorative processes, including its advantages, challenges and potential in creating an efficient dispute resolution system centred on restorative justice. It concludes that restorative approaches can reduce conflict, accelerate the resolution process, and restore public trust in health institutions, provided that they are properly implemented and supported by adequate regulations.

Abstract

Sandbox regulation has become an important instrument in driving innovation in the fintech sector while strengthening financial inclusion. By providing a controlled testing environment, it allows fintech companies to develop new technologies without facing excessive regulatory barriers. Through this approach, the sandbox opens up opportunities for the development of more efficient, adaptive, and relevant financial services for various segments of society, especially those who previously had difficulty accessing formal financial services. Its impact on financial inclusion is also significant, with sandbox regulation helping to reach underserved groups through products and services such as digital payments, microfinance, and peer-to-peer platforms. This contributes to improving financial literacy and expanding access to financial services, thereby reducing the financial gap. This regulation essentially promotes the development of a more inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystem. However, sandbox regulation is not without challenges. The need to establish a strong supervisory mechanism is important to maintain the balance between innovation and consumer protection and financial system stability. Therefore, the sustainability of sandbox effectiveness depends on close collaboration between regulators, industry players, and other stakeholders to create regulations that are adaptive and harmonious with technological developments.
