Abstract

This study explores the diffusion of innovation in the context of English Language Teaching (ELT). Using Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory as a theoretical framework, the research examines the factors that facilitate or hinder the implementation of innovative practices in English language teaching. Through an extensive literature review, English language teachers in different educational settings are highlighted to understand their perceptions, attitudes and experiences of integrating innovative teaching methods, technologies and materials. The findings show that the rate of adoption of innovations in ELT is influenced by a number of factors, including the perceived characteristics of the innovation, communication channels, time and the social system. Innovative teachers who act as early adopters play a crucial role in the diffusion process by modelling good practice and providing peer support. However, organisational culture, resource constraints and teachers' beliefs also emerge as significant barriers to the widespread diffusion of innovations. The study provides insights into strategies for promoting the successful implementation of innovations in English language teaching. It highlights the importance of creating a supportive environment that encourages risk-taking, provides continuous professional development, and fosters a culture of collaboration and shared learning among English language teachers. The findings have implications for educational policy makers, teacher educators and school administrators in their efforts to improve the quality of English language teaching through innovative approaches.

Abstract

In a time when young people are most influenced by global issues and are also most effective catalysts for change, education is what will tap their potential. This research explores how Taiwan’s Youth Development Administration’s Global Youth Trends Forum (GYTF) 2024 educates youth and inspires them through global challenge response and intercultural dialogue. With a rapidly changing global landscape where almost one in four young people are in NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), youth empowerment is critical to building resilient and inclusive societies. The Global Youth Trends Forum (GYTF) 2024, “Connect and Engage: Global Partnership for Youth,” brought young leaders from Taiwan and worldwide to exchange in interactive sessions around Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leadership, and global citizenship. Adopting a qualitative methodology, this study conducted participant observation, taking notes in the field, reflexive journaling, and informal interviews to obtain detailed information about young people’s experience and interaction during the forum. Using the Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework, the study conceptualizes youth empowerment as a development of core values like competence, confidence, connection, character, and caring that equips young individuals with the capacity for becoming global transformative leaders. Thematic analysis yielded important findings: increased SDG awareness (particularly of Goals 4, 10, and 17), productive intercultural collaboration, and heightened confidence and motivation in participants. Youth learned not only through expert panels but also through discussion with peers at a deep and participatory level. Although there was decent participation from external sources, there were very few activities in this study that facilitated personal reflection and personal development. Applying the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework such as mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and resilience is recommended in future forums to empower youth to be more engaged and have a long-term influence. This paper argues that youth forums such as GYTF can be great platforms for global education and youth empowerment. If well designed to build both external knowledge and inner development, they prepare young people to address global challenges but also build inner capacities to be capable of ethical and transformative leadership.

Abstract

The integration of computerized stages in English Dialect Instructing (ELT) has revolutionized conventional learning by improving openness, collaboration, and engagement. Among these stages, Google Classroom has ended up a broadly utilized device for overseeing coursework, giving organized composing hone, and cultivating talks intelligently. This think-about points to methodically surveying existing inquiries about the benefits, challenges, and general adequacy of Google Classroom in ELT by distinguishing which English dialect aptitudes are most moved forward and analyzing which instructive levels advantage the foremost. Employing a precise survey strategy, this consider analyzes peer-reviewed diary articles, conference papers, and theses distributed between 2019 and 2024. The discoveries demonstrate that Google Classroom is especially compelling in upgrading composing and perusing comprehension abilities, particularly at the college level, where understudies have higher computerized proficiency. In any case, talking and tuning in abilities stay immature due to the platform's nonconcurrent nature. Furthermore, challenges such as mechanical boundaries, educator preparing crevices, and adjustment troubles affect its viability. Future investigations ought to center on cross-breed learning models and progressed educational procedures to maximize the potential of Google Classroom in ELT, guaranteeing a more comprehensive and intuitive dialect learning involvement.

Abstract

As environmental pollutants, particularly carbon dioxide (CO₂), pose increasing health risks, understanding how inequality influences this relationship becomes critical for policy and development planning. This study examines how income inequality and environmental degradation affect health outcomes (LER) using an ARDL model. The model includes CO2, GINI, their interaction (CO2*GINI), PGDP, EC, GCE, and PST. The ARDL approach is chosen for its flexibility with mixed integration orders and inclusion of both current and lagged variables. To verify cointegration, the Bounds test and error correction model (ECM) are applied. DOLS estimation, preferred over FMOLS for addressing endogeneity and serial correlation, is also used (Mark & Sul, 2003; Osabuohien et al., 2014). Data from 1990–2023 are sourced from WDI, WGI, and CBN. Robustness checks include ARCH, Breusch-Godfrey, and Cusum tests. Results reveal that in the long run, most variables, including CO2, GINI, and GINI*CO2, had negative but statistically insignificant effects on life expectancy (LER), except in FMOLS where GINI*CO2 was significantly negative. In the short run, CO2, GINI, and their lags significantly increased LER, while GINI*CO2 showed a mixed effect—negative initially, positive when lagged. PGDP and GCE had mixed impacts. The 12% error correction rate confirms adjustment to equilibrium. The null hypothesis is not rejected, as GINI*CO2 lacks significant long-run influence. Recommendations include implementing policies that reduce CO₂ emissions, promote equitable income distribution, and strengthen healthcare infrastructure to improve long-term health outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to examine various strategies that have been implemented in an effort to improve the quality of education in remote areas through a technological approach. The method used is a literature study by examining various scientific journals, policy reports and other relevant publications published in the last five years. The results of the study show that the use of technology such as online-based learning, the use of digital devices (tablets/laptops), and the development of learning management systems (LMS) have a positive impact on access and quality of education in disadvantaged areas. However, major challenges such as limited infrastructure, lack of training for educators, and lack of policy support remain significant obstacles. Effective strategies include strengthening ICT-based teacher training, collaboration between the government and the private sector in providing infrastructure, and developing a curriculum that is adaptive to the local context. This research recommends an integrative approach that combines technology, human resource training, and sustainable policies to create an inclusive and quality education system in remote areas.
