Abstract

Education management is a series of processes of planning, organising, directing and supervising all aspects of educational resources in order to achieve predetermined learning objectives. The review conducted in this study involved a literature review method. The main findings of the review include four important factors: comprehensive and in-depth strategic planning, professional development for educators, utilisation of technology and information systems, and involvement and cooperation with various stakeholders. Therefore, improving efficiency and quality in the learning system can be achieved by implementing the strategies identified in this literature review. Successful educational institutions are those that are able to design and implement comprehensive strategic planning, support professional development for educators, utilise modern technology effectively, and engage and collaborate with various stakeholders to create an adaptive and high-quality learning environment.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has brought significant changes in various fields, including education. Maths education, often considered a challenging subject, can now be transformed by the use of technology to improve students' understanding and learning outcomes. This research uses the literature review method to explore various studies and publications that discuss the role of technology in mathematics education. The results show that technology has a crucial role in the transformation of mathematics education. The use of visualisation software, educational apps and e-learning platforms has been shown to help students better understand abstract mathematical concepts. Technology also enables more adaptive and personalised learning, provides a variety of resources that can be accessed anytime and anywhere, and increases student engagement and motivation. The instant evaluation and feedback provided by technology helps students to immediately correct mistakes and understand the material more deeply. In addition, the integration of technology in mathematics learning also helps to improve students' digital skills, which is important for their future.

Abstract

Social education is an important aspect in shaping individual character and instilling a sense of caring for others in society. This research uses the literature study method to examine this matter. The results reveal that the participatory approach requires students to take an active role in the learning and decision-making process, thus increasing their sense of belonging and responsibility for the surrounding environment. The collaborative approach emphasises the importance of cooperation and interaction between students through group activities that enrich communication and conflict resolution. Reflective approaches encourage students to critically review their own learning experiences, helping to develop self-awareness and personal responsibility. Technological approaches utilise digital devices and platforms to enhance the learning process and enable remote collaboration. Meanwhile, the inquiry approach encourages students to explore important questions through research, thus shaping analytical skills and the ability to investigate. By integrating these various approaches, social education can be more effective in preparing students for future global challenges. Comprehensive and dynamic social education encourages students not only to understand but also to contribute positively to social change in their society. This article asserts that social education integrated with diverse approaches can facilitate the formation of strong character and a high sense of caring, both of which are crucial in creating a just and prosperous society. Therefore, innovative and adaptive approaches need to be continuously developed in the social education curriculum to meet the needs of the times and the challenges of the future.

Abstract

This study observes the pivotal role of Strategic Planning Efforts (SPEs) and their influence on enhancing teaching and learning products, as well as exploring the essential role of Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) in boosting the quality and level of education and learning within HEIs. The main outcomes of the FDPs that serve as pillars of teaching and learning and that are adopted in this paper as basic criteria for the proposed conceptual framework are: Pedagogical Contents Knowledge (PCK), Curriculum Development and Course Design (CDCD), Instructional Skills (ISs), Enhanced Assessment and Feedback Practices (EAFP), and Professional Growth and Reflection (PGR). The surveys were used as a research method, and the questionnaire was sent to selected experts in the field of academic development programs, faculty, and administrators in HEIs in Iraq, and analysed using SPSS software. The results revealed a strong positive impact of Strategic Planning in activating Academic Development Programs, and a strong impact of Academic Development Programs on strengthening the main pillars of teaching and learning stated in the study.

Abstract

In today’s digital era, there has been a significant shift from traditional to digital communication, particularly among students and academics. This study explores how emojis facilitate emotional expression within academic WhatsApp groups among students in the English Language Education Study Program (ELESP). Given the increasing reliance on digital platforms, the need for effective communication tools, such as emojis, has become essential. This research uses a qualitative approach based on Creswell's (2017) framework, gathering data from two academic WhatsApp groups through documented screenshots. Content analysis was applied to examine how emojis convey emotions and enhance communication dynamics. The findings indicate that emojis, such as the Heart (’  ) and Crying Face (.  -¡●”), allow students to express emotions, clarify intentions, and build empathy. These results suggest that emojis play a crucial role in fostering supportive peer communication and overcoming the limitations of text-based interactions. This study highlights the importance of emojis in academic communication, creating a more inclusive and emotionally connected learning environment.

Abstract

Islamic education is a core component in shaping the nation's character based on noble moral, ethical and spiritual values. The study conducted in this research uses the literature research method. The results of the study show that Islamic education consistently educates values such as honesty, responsibility, truth, justice and respect for others, which are very important in the formation of individual character with integrity. Islamic education also plays a role in strengthening students' cultural and religious identity, promoting tolerance, mutual respect and social solidarity amidst the cultural and religious diversity of Indonesian society. In addition, the integration of modern knowledge and life skills in the Islamic education curriculum ensures that students develop not only moral qualities but also relevant competencies to face global challenges. However, challenges such as limited competent human resources, relevance of the curriculum to the needs of the times, and lack of funds and infrastructure, are obstacles that need to be overcome. Therefore, the implementation of strategies such as training and professional development for educators, development of relevant and applicable curricula, and investment in technology and adequate educational facilities, are essential to improve the quality of Islamic education. With this approach, Islamic education can effectively contribute to the formation of a superior and highly competitive national character in the global context.

Abstract

Community involvement with educational institutions is a whole process of activities that are planned and carried out deliberately and seriously, accompanied by continuous training to gain sympathy from the community in general. Especially people who have a direct interest in education. Community sympathy will grow through the school's efforts to build relationships in an incentive and proactive manner in addition to building a good image of educational institutions. The quality of education is one of the indicators in determining the success of education. Improving the quality of education is closely related to the surrounding environment which includes community participation or involvement. In order to improve the quality of education, an active role from the community is needed to participate and be involved in educational programs or projects. It is very important to understand what forms of community involvement are appropriate to support the creation of improvements in the quality of education. Participation is the active involvement of a person or group of people (community) consciously to contribute voluntarily to development programs and involvement starting from planning, implementation, monitoring to the evaluation stage.

Abstract

The use of learning media is one of the key factors in improving the quality and effectiveness of the learning process in schools. Interesting and interactive learning media can increase student interest and motivation, make it easier to understand complex material, and support various learning styles. In addition, the use of digital and online media provides flexibility for students to study independently anywhere and at any time. Good learning media can also increase students' active involvement in the teaching and learning process and help develop technology skills that are so necessary in today's digital era. Learning media can increase and direct children's attention so that it can lead to learning motivation, more direct interaction between students and their environment, and the possibility for students to learn independently according to their abilities and interests. Thus, the integration of appropriate learning media can create a more dynamic, interactive and effective learning environment, thereby supporting students' overall academic and skill development.
